The goal of a post count isn't to identify the quiet ones. It's to identify the ones who aren't doing what they typically do.

Valid point, and red herring might have been a bad choice of words, I simply wanted to clarify that low post counts, of which I was one, is not in itself on Day 1 an indication of good or evil. :)

I concede that it does help establish a pattern to see what someone is doing vs what they have don in the past. Or even the change from day 1 to day x. :)

so no one else see's this in unagi? Is it just me? I mean he asked for a train, got it...then pounces on somoen for adding a n-1 vote...wasnt that what he wanted? He just seems the evil, bully unagi of previous incarnations.

also i have no intention of voting for scoop right now, if scoop is rebel, he'll get himself in trouble some way or another. I much rather get the unagi express going...IF push came to shove, i could potentially vote for any of my other suspects...ie...truicy, lassr, grund.

Really? That's your conclusion. You get all that because Scoop was run up the flag pole, wasn't saluted, and didn't get assassinated by yoda between 8:04 and 8:24 eastern time? *shrug*

You probably missed when we were told that Yoda and Dooku can place their overvotes conditionally. They needn't be around when someone hits the top of the flagpole, but can issue a PM instruction to bb2112 saying "If player x gets to n-1, place my overvote upon them."

Did you not seeing that earlier cause some consternation over on the Rebel boards, LM? ;)

Oh, I'm pretty sure at least one of them was completely unaware of it, given Lord Mortis's stated assumption that Yoda had but 24 minutes to cast his overvote.

What's your point?

BTW, while the rule was clarified to allow the conditional, we were told specifically that Dooku/Yoda/R2 could place their votes (when eligible) at any point during the day, with the caveat being that the overvote was un-moveable and stuck on whomever for the entire day-turn. That's on page 1, I believe. So, in answer to your question...I don't know what LM is thinking with his supposition that if Yoda wanted to put Scoop over the top that it was a pre-requisite that he be playing in-thread at the point where Scoop got to N-1 in order to place that decisive vote.

I didn't miss it. I didn't pay attention to when the question was asked. I suppose we'll see what happens next when bb2112 gives us input. I imagine the frame up is underway if scoop's imperial.

 Insane is the word. The merchandising makes no sense to me at all. And speaking of, did anyone else actively try to collect stormtroopers as a kid? I think I had eight and that was from obsessive searching. Jawas, friken everywhere. Stormtroopers, never to be found. Every store that carried toys, every trip would see me tearing through the Kenner section. I had $2.75 and another 11 cents in tax just in case. That was my first experience with toy shortage. You'd think that would have cured me, but noooo, MtG comes out 15 years later and here I am combing stores and buying everything I can find just find a stupid pure lace. Kenner began the evil toy generation, making everyone get boxes and boxes of multiple Princess Leas and Han Solos ugly fat heads and only one stupid Stormtrooper with OIL clearly spelled on his back. I wanted an army to fill my cardboard Deathstar with its foam rubber garbage and I could scarcely build a squad big enough stop a landspeeder at mois eisley.

That R2D2 is likely not even in the game, assuming he would take the earliest opportunity to take out an Imperial, since it is a one-shot. Yoda, if present, didn't have the time if he didn't place a standing order, while a standing order on the first Day One train is extremely unlikely. And Dooku would be an idiot to use his only over-vote on Day One without further info.

What if Dooku believes Scoop to be an Empire teammate?

As I've stated previously, R2 only gets to do his thing once in the game. If he's active this game his power gets more and more powerful with each successive day as the number of votes to put someone over decreases while his number of overvotes stays constant at 3.

That assumes 2 things - 1) R2 doesn't get lynched early or 2) R2 is even in the game.

Newcastle makes good points about Unagi. More broadly, I get that it's day one and all, but he ought to put more of an argument into his votes then "hey, n-1".

 withdraw Scoop

Unagi.

Also noteworthy is that tru1cy's response to Grund is also a little baffling, and Chaosraven's Dooku argument is thoroughly illogical for the reasons noted.

So hold the phone, Chuck.

Why does Chaosraven think that the only over-vote role active in the game belongs to Count Dooku?

Does he know that there's no Yoda and no R2?

I don't understand. You don't think it was a slip of any kind (because that would be too slopy), which would mean that you think he was presenting an honest argument, I guess? But you're voting for him?
