When I was a small boy, I dreamed of being able to afford spaghetti with meatballs and meat sauce. That day has come.
We used to live paycheck to paycheck but after years of hard work and dedication we are now living direct deposit to direct deposit.
That's good.
You know you've arrived when you can buy the $16/lb wild-caught sockeye instead of the $8 farmed salmon. I can remember when affording salmon at all was a splurge.

13 degrees out here this morning. Was 17 yesterday. Kids left the garden hose on the outside tap (they live in a travel trailer). Have an anti siphon type tap and it released water all over they hose and tap. After chipping all the ice off and disconnecting the hose they water wasn't frozen in the tap or hose hook up. I assume that means the pipe didn't burst but as it never got above freezing yesterday I don't know if the tap itself is still good or not.
Last time it got this cold I told them it was their responsibility to remove the hose the night before if it was going to get this cold (because they forgot but I had remembered to). I also told them I was going to leave it disconnected for the rest of winter if they didn't.
Assuming the tap isn't leaking should I follow thru with my threat?

The threat is mightier than the execution.

I never leave the hose attached in winter. It stays in the out building until warm weather. I keep a Styrofoam cover on the faucet.

They knew what the deal was. Keep the hose. They can get a new one if they want.

Oh joy, my mystery two-factor authenticator is back. I've received four texts over the past week that simply say "Your verification code is XXXXX".
Still have no idea what site or system of mine they're trying to access so I don't know what password to change.
The authentication mystery has finally been solved!
I fired up the Epic Game Store today to see what the newest freebie was and I was logged out. Weird, but OK. It requested the two-factor authentication and sure enough, it came from that same number that's been pinging me randomly since this summer. My guess is that
Not thrilled that someone keeps trying to get into my Epic account, but I'm glad to finally know what it is. Why they can't put it in their message so I could have changed the password months ago is beyond me.

Did anyone here see the 2013 movie The Incredible Burt Wonderstone? Its a Jim Carrey movie Ive never even heard of before until yesterday when I saw a pic of him with long hair and didn't even recognize him. Thought it was Brad Pitt for a moment. Seems the box office sucked on it but the general person rating is ok.
Steve Carell
Steve Buscemi
Olivia Wilde
Jim Carrey
James Gandolfini
Alan Arkin
Jay Mohr

Only the laziest or sloppiest screenwriter in the world could be given this cast and then go nowhere.

I dunno. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 33% audience score, which is almost as low as the popular vote can go with this many well-known stars.

Yeah, I was originally tapped to be the Tin Woodsman in the Wizard of Oz, but the aluminum powder they used to turn him silver got in his lungs and hospitalized him.

You know how many times Amazon has e-mailed me letting me know they have frozen my account because there was suspicious activity there and to click this button and be ready with all my credit card information?
Me either.
Probably 3-4 times a week since long before the internet was invented.

I've been getting a lot of those recently. I keep putting in my information and they keep emailing me that they don't have it. I've tried four different cards!

I find it a little suspicious that this months power bill nearly doubled to EXACTLY match the credit I had in my account. I mean it could have been worse and been higher but to double to match it and leave me with 0 afterwards. Hmmm.

That's the thing with numbers, sometimes they just come out in ways that seem incredulous, but are just random. Probably more likely than some Snidely Whiplash twirling his mustache.

Im not a fan of black eyed peas the food. The band is cool. The food not so much. Ive not had any in decades. But Im eating the entire can tomorrow and having collard greens too. If this year was my fault Im sorry and am trying to fix it.
2nd thing....while gone to town had a limb fall off a big tree in the back yard. About my size around and 30 feet long. Didn't appear rotten and was actually a living branch so not sure why it broke off. Nose dived into the ground making a 1 foot hole. It was about 2 feet from the reach of my dog who was out while I was gone. Ugh. And thats not one of the big limbs up there. One is over the house and is about equal to half the tree. The insurance company wont pay for it unless it falls on the house. Silly insurance.

there is chili and minestrone, chicken parmigiana (not sure I got that right). and of course, tomato soup.
tomato sauce mixed half/half with salsa makes enchilada sauce.

You came out a winner since pasta is much cheaper than sauce.

Ya and they both keep good too. I like to add garlic powder and onion powder to the sauce as it simmers and when I add it to pasta I toss in some mexican 4 cheese blend.

Problem is that I have an analog clock.

Just had a chat with a couple of different Best Buy customer service people.
Asked them if they could tell me when the sale price for an item ends.
None of them could tell me.
How is that even possible?

Wal-Mart? Easy. Knowledgeable people cost money. They don't pay for knowledgeable people. They pay for people who can put things on shelves, make sure nothing is in the middle of the floor, and point you to the bathroom.
