Got a email coupon yesterday from Hardees. Their big mac burger called the big hardees. ya silly name. Anyways the email clearly states I can either show the cashier the email OR I can print it and take it with me. So I get there and since my window is a bust I try to go in. This place was open all last year inside and I picked up stuff a few times. This time it was locked up tight wit ha sign saying the dining room was temporarily closed due to staffing problems. Which instantly made me think COVID is rampant here. But I wanted that burger
So go through the drive through and I can tell its going to be a problem from the time I order. Pull around and give them the printout...which clearly shows Hardees, the burger, the name of the burger, the price it should be , and the CODE they need to enter it. Cashier cant figure it out so manager tries. Im told I need to show her the email. I told her it said email OR that printout. She insisted I show her the email to get the register to enter it....even though its CLEARLY on the printout. I asked her how she expected me to do that since its on my pc and my pc is at home. She flat out refused to honor it until I could provide the email for her to see.
So fuck it Ive never used my phone for anything but phone..I told ok then. I shut my car off right there at the window with my door open and sat there setting up email on it and figuring out how to use it. Finally I showed it to her. I dont see a difference but she tapped at the register and I got my burger. Makes me mad at places that try to weasel out of deals. I asked her doesn't corporate tell them when they run deals and she said no they never do.

I found many. Which 3 are you referring to?
I don't know about three, but the truly awful first official D&D movie was this one:
I barely remember it, but this trailer makes it look a LOT more fun than it was. Jeremy Irons must have owed someone a lot of money.
Of course the new movie is the first D&D film project after the RPG Renaissance, so we're entitled to expect a lot. My concern is that (per IMDB) the producer of the new one is the producer/director of the one above.

I recall a d&d movie that had a huge room of skulls or something...
I also remember the D&D cartoon.

Many D&D movies? I honestly only know of the three.

Best line from that film, delivered with absolute seriousness: "That's what I hate about you thieves - always taking things that don't belong to you!" It had two sequels. None of them are good (although I've heard that they were actually better than the original, which isn't a huge stretch.)
Word is that they're hoping the new film can kick off another cinematic universe.

It's possible.
Most people have forgotten how utterly terrible superhero movies were until they weren't.
A Denver International Airport spokeswoman said the flight to Honolulu experienced an engine issue and returned to the airport.
Large metal parts from a United Airlines airplane fell from the sky and landed in a neighborhood outside Denver, Colorado, authorities said Saturday.
While the debris caused some property damages, Broomfield police said they haven't received reports of injuries.
Just a few little pieces....

Hey now! I would like to think our house looks a bit nicer than that. Besides, we have the 2-story addition now. Though you haven't been here since well before that was built.

More of a comment on your address than your domicile.
Looking forward to the day we get to see the addition.

Definitely need to get you down here. Or is it over here, now? Should be no more dog cooties for you to contend with.
From the report, the debris fell on the east side of 287, by 6-10 blocks, probably. We are several blocks west. So at least a mile away. Still, closer than anyone else on the forum.

Still down. We moved almost exactly 10 miles due east.

Beats our poker group as well, as the closest was about 3 miles away. Still, YIKES!

Ive come across a show on Youtube called Time Team. Its a show set in England about archeologists that dig up peoples property and tell them about it it seems. They only have 3 days to do it. Its entertaining enough if not detailed or thorough.

Time Team is one of my favorite documentary series. They went 20 seasons on the BBC, and I'm on season 17 right now. Most of it is streaming on Amazon Prime as well. That show teaches you a lot, and puts a lot of history into context. Tony Robinson (Baldrick from Black Adder) is a great presenter and does a great job of acting as the everyman to the team of experts and asking the questions we all want to know. And Phil is just a blast to watch.

D^%%$#$%&!! Ive been without flour for over a month now. I bought a nice new bag a week ago but had no room in my 1 cabinet so I put it in the counter canister. Its a nice heavy one. Just now I see the lid had been moved halfway off. Aw crap. Yep bag was shredded with rat shit all in it. Sigh. Ive got 4 traps out and either they never touch them or they set them off and dont get caught. I hate them.

The closest I've come to airborne debris is when a large package attached to what we thought was a parachute landed with a tremendous thump on the house where I lived in Ann Arbor. The cords wound around the old TV antenna, so it wasn't going to come down on its own.
We were all nervous because we thought it might be a drug drop gone wrong. Eventually the landlord got a roofer up there and we learned it was a botched weather-balloon experiment launched by grad students.

Was Drew Thompson involved?

He's referring to the outstanding Justified TV series (clarified in further detail here).

Honestly, they watched more TV than I ever did. I live in Philadelphia, and they were making Charlie/Frank/McPoyle references before I even knew what they were talking about.

As a teen I didn't like Air Supply at all...bunch sappy lovey dovey crap. But when I got older I came to enjoy their hits. Even today if I come across them playing I stop and listen. Ive been known to even look them up on YouTube Im that way with a lot of music I wouldn't be within a mile of as a kid or teen.

Today's technology pet peeve: why am I checking a box to have you keep me signed in when it never does even though I check the box every time? And why am I dumb enough to keep checking it, hoping this time it will work? (Before you ask, no, it's not a cookies/setting issue).

Because, much like a superannuated white-beard, you're perhaps still relying upon a web browser to manage your log-ins vs. using a dedicated secure passphrase manager?
With KeePass I never have to dick around with cookies, as I'm typically able to use a simple keyboard shortcut to auto-type log-ins (complete with Two-Channel Auto-Type Obfuscation to thwart standard keyloggers or clipboard-spy eavesdropping).

Sometimes I like to weird up my food. Here in the south we have Krystals and up north they have White Castle. They both have basically the same little square hamburgers called sliders. I get the WC frozen ones for my freezer.
Anyways I usually only add salt and mustard....or extra mustard. But just now I had them with salt, mustard, mayo, a ton of Franks Red Hot and topped with sauerkraut. So good.
