Have an infected broken tooth or gum on the bottom left. The left side of my face is all swollen up. You should see me. I look like a chipmunk with his left cheek pouch full of acorns. At least it stopped hurting so the antibiotics must be helping finally. This happens every few months. Its a soft swollen place below my jaw line. Im not sure whats filling that entire area if its just fluids or pus. Not fun. Never is. If I was rich Id have surgery to remove everything and get full on implants baby wooooo. But the chipmunk look is not so bad.I dont have to go anywhere.

Knowing what I know (which isn't nearly enough) and having to help so many out of scammer situations and then letting they know they can choose the best of a bad situation makes me fear what happens when I go senile (and I will, my memory has already gone to shit and it started on a steepening curve in my 40s) and start to get paranoid. The day when everything I've learned and had to deal with because on obstacle to seeing the truth instead of facilitator.

On the topic of skills - my typing skill has gone to hell lately. If I had to guess, I'd say it's related to getting mechanical keyboards, as now regularly type on one mechanical and one membrane board (the latter built into my laptop), each of which requires different types of keystrokes. I think it's throwing me off.
I'm tempted to get some cheap typing software and run drills. I haven't actually practiced typing drills in well over 30 years.

It seems bizarre to me that 'EDC'* has apparently become a hobby and lifestyle. I always just called it, 'the crap in my pockets', but some people have apparently turned it into a science. They take it seriously the way someone hiking the Appalachian Trail takes their equipment, sort of like a community of pocket-preppers. I've seen whole slews of articles on the best EDC pen (me: whichever one happens to be closest to where I'm standing when I'm putting crap in my pockets), the best EDC watch (me: the watch I own), the best EDC wallet (me: the generic Walmart wallet that I picked up sometime between 1995 and 2010.) Honestly, looking through all of the articles and seeing all of the affiliate links, I'm starting to think it is just a successful viral marketing scheme.
*Every Day Carry, which supposedly distinguishes your everyday comb from your around-the-house comb and your Sunday-go-to-Meetin' comb. It's the perfect comb; just the right size, the right tooth count, made of space-age materials and bearing the logo of the comb elite, ready to protect you from stray strands in the life-and-death struggle that is a trip to the grocery store.

Yeah, that sounds like someone trying to gin up a marketing scheme.
I carry only my phone, wallet, and keys, and sometimes (if it looks like rain) a handkerchief.
I don't wear a watch, and I quit carrying a pen years back when I realized that they're always supplied where you need them.

phone, wallet, keys, yes, although these days its phone, wallet, keys, mask
I understand there are some barbarians out there who carry keys, wallet, phone. I will never understand those people and their backward ways.
If I could find the right phone case with room for enough wallet stuff I could get it down to phone (and watch) only. The (apple) watch is kind of redundant but I am used to wearing one and it does MFA faster than the phone for work.

When I walk the dog I like to go out pockets-empty (assuming someone else is back home so I don't have to take keys).
There's something freeing about not hauling a phone sometimes.

Keys, phone, wallet, mask, knife. The watch stays on unless I'm in the shower (and I could wear it in the shower - I just don't.)
Although I have a mask permanently assigned to each pair of pants and/or shorts. They live in the pocket, and when the pants get washed, the mask gets washed with them. Not only does it keep me with a clean mask, but I never have to worry about forgetting a mask when I leave.

As a teenager I used to carry everything I thought I ever needed in my backpack. When I got older I trimmed that back to a wallet and keys in my pockets. The wallet was still fat with cards for payments, memberships, and other things. Then the wallet migrated to my front pocket because I got tired of sitting tilted. Then I got a Leatherman, which seemed important enough to keep on me all the time, so it went in the pocket opposite my wallet (with my keys). I stayed that way for a long time until I decided all I really needed was 3 or 4 cards and I put the rest of my wallet into the glove compartment of my car. I figured my car would go anywhere I might need all that crap. Then the 3 or 4 cards got worn out too fast so I got a Razor wallet to keep my 3 or 4 cards safe. Then I started commuting back and forth from Maine to Vermont and carried a backpack with me every weekend that had all of my essentials, so I put everything I had in my pockets into my backpack and carry my backpack around.
So I'm back to lugging around all the shit I used to as a teenager, in my backpack, like I did as a teenager... and my pockets are empty.

As I have no memory, I have to count to five before I walk out the door.... Phone, phone, wallet, keys, glasses. I have to carry that second damned for phone for work. It'd be much nicer if they let me expense my home phone and then I'd only carry one. But it's a work asset with work contents, etc... And I'm not giving them what is essentially my home phone. So I'm work pimp. Two stupid bulky phones. I went from no smart phone in 2019 (one very small keyboard phone) to two smart phones in 2021. Harumph.

I used to wear a duty belt, and it became routine for me to constantly check to make sure that everything was there (especially as several of the things were dangerous - knife, pepper spray, handgun, to extra loaders) and were my ass if they got lost, especially if someone got ahold of them and caused mischief. At first I was constantly poking around and checking things, but after a while I learned to check with my arms without breaking stride.
I haven't worn one in 20 years, but I still check all of my stuff the same way - with my arms as I walk, in a step without breaking stride. Right arm goes forward, back of my hand brushes my rear pocket and the lump of my wallet, forearm brushes past the phone (on my right belt) and my thumb bumps my knife clips. Left arm goes back at the same time and my thumb bumps my key pocket. It's still automatic, and I do it every few minutes without noticing - unless something is out of place.
Now, if I could just get myself to stop wearing my reading glasses out to the car and not noticing until it's too late to switch.

Yeah, I do a quick tap on each pocket to make sure I've got wallet/keys/phone whenever I leave the house or leave a public space.
Not normally a fan of AS, but that's me pre-emptively.

A simple but important wallet trick I learned:
I'm right handed, so the "natural" pocket for my wallet is the right-rear.
As a teacher, I almost always carry a satchel slung over my shoulder and hanging down on the right. After a few years, though, I realized that the wallet rubbing against the satchel wore down any fabric in between.
The simple solution was obviously to start wearing my wallet on the left. But it cost me serious wear to a couple of nice jackets before I realized what was up. If you carry a satchel, you might want to look into this.

I haven't worn a wallet my back pocket for more than half a lifetime ago. I think we've even had a discussion here or on OO about it. I don't like it was doing my back, it wore clothes faster, and it made me more of a target for pick pocketing and pick pocketing paranoia.

Why do so many MS based applications autofil in the space after when you highlight a word? How many times are you (am I) highlighting to copy and paste and the stupid ap decides the only way to remove the space after the (last) word is take the bother to move my right hand off the mouse so I can left arrow to remove the stupid space. I can spend all day trying to approximate the mouse at the last letter and it's either grab all but the last letter or include antecedent space.

What crackpot engineer at Philips decided this monitor should have a power button located in the back-center of the unit, just under where the stand connects? If you're looking at it from the front, sides, or bottom the button is invisible. If you're holding the monitor by the stand and looking it over, your knuckles obscure the button. If you look at it from directly behind, the stand hides the button completely. You only see it if you get behind the unit and prepare to pop the back cover off.
I only found it when I was getting ready to take the thing apart to see if I could get it working.
Normal places for power buttons on monitors are always either in the center of the bottom of the bezel, or on the side where the power light and icon reside, either as button or touch interfaces. I thought the thing was dead until I stumbled over the power button they hid.

I'm continuously dumbfounded by the location of power and setting buttons on monitors. It's like they all have a special engineering department called "The Department of Making Shit Unfindable".

Looking for the on/off power button symbol (I & O) will typically steer you in the right direction. It's plenty subtle on your linked monitor, but it definitely is there.
You can see it highlighted if you embiggen the image below:
