Convincing Trump to resign may be the most likely way to actually get him out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Posted in the other thread, but I'll repeat it here.Kurth wrote: Fri Jan 08, 2021 5:14 pmNo. No, it’s not. It’s ugly and abhorrent. That kind of mindless mob sentiment, spurred on by media and social media lies and sensationalism, isn’t any better when it’s directed at an asshole like Graham.
There’s nothing beautiful about that, even if Graham is now reaping what he’s sown.
Don't disagree at all. It sets a dangerous precedent with lots of possibility to escalate because these people are completely unhinged.
My pithy comment was a small drop of schadenfreude (because honestly...fuck Lindsey Graham) in a much larger sea of significant concern.

So to be clear, I'm to believe that Newt and other members of the GOP that actively voted to throw out votes are people I should be "looking to work with" and that I need to "come together with" to heal the nation?

Just to be clear, McCarthy was one of the majority of Republican Representatives that objected to the elections. Fuck his crocodile tears over unity.

Now that they won't have to kowtow to Trump and without Mitch blocking everything, maybe some Republicans would actually be on board with bills like these. Let's be crystal clear here. The Republicans aren't worried about unity. The reason the Republicans are freaking out is because they know it is nearly impossible for them not to convict Trump and still remain a viable party. They don't want to be put on record here. The Democrats are simply dithering here even when it is the right thing to do both ethically and politically.

Enabling Trump and pandering to his base hasn't? I get that he's a more moderate Republican but he has to live (and I do hope he lives) with the consequences of actions.Enough wrote: Fri Jan 08, 2021 7:11 pmIf it escalates beyond taunting and he is injured or killed it will effect all of us.LawBeefaroni wrote: Fri Jan 08, 2021 6:57 pmHell and danger he helped create. I don't think so. Twitter just cleaned house of derp. Flynn. Garrison. A few others were just all permanently banned. I think Twitter decided they didn't want to linked to the death of a nation. A little late but the timing is good.
