I'm a PC gamer for life. In my case I like TB straegy and wargames the most and their requirements (PC and graphics wise) are a lot less than the mainstream AAA titles.
And like Blackhawk, even if I never bought another PC game ever I could still play a "new" unplayed game every month for the rest of my life.

I'm with dbt.

Another nice thing about the smaller devs is that they put less intrusive CP (cough Starforce) on their games.

If there's anything that will drive me away from PC games it will be the copy protection. Heck CP has already turned me away from games that I would have bought. Silent Hunter 3 and GTR to name 2.

But I do realize that piracy is killing the PC game industry it's just too bad that starforce and company is what the industry seems to be more and more more turning to to fight it.

But even if starcrap and it's ilk becomes the norm I do have a huge backlog of games to keep me busy.

Also I remain leery on how cheap console gaming is going to be. Remember they have not announced the price for any of these killa consoles. And it looks like the new games for these next gen consoles might be at at least the 60 price point.

I do think It's going to be very expensive to develop these monster next gen games and on the PC front maybe the developers will be able to put out fun and *cheaper* games for us PC gamers. I still think that it's cheaper for a small dev to develop for the PC then for the consoles but we shall see.....

Bill and Steve love you. Xbox isn't about the games, it's about creating the electronics that will run your home.

Where ya been?
I have been playing SCCT on my Nvidia 5900 XT rig since release day. It runs flawlessly without a hiccup and looks just as good as it does on my son's 6800 machine. You wouldn't even notice a difference.

Put down the crackpipe pal, you can't even compare. Anyone with a 6X series card and switch between modes and see the massive difference.

And keep in mind the FPS will be much higher due to SM3 optimizations.

I know we have people from different countries in here, and I dont want to be insensitive, but is this supposed to be a sentence? You then went on to start the next sentence with "and".

It was very confusing considering the "crackpipe" comment. Were you suggesting he "put down the crackpipe" so you could have it back?

Is that the best reply you can formulate? To correct a few typos? The reality is I type 96wpm, and really don't care about the quality of my forum posts.

But rest assured, there is always some jackass reading the forum masturbating to his websters dictionary waiting for an opportune moment to strike. Perhaps in the future, I should bring a tissue, and consult you on my posts before I hit "Submit".

LMAO

It's pretty fast. People think I type like a demon, and I average 105 wpm. Of course, being a computer nerd my whole life helps.

One of TSS's favorite non sequiturs. We've seen it from other posters at various times, too. It's the internet equivalent of a dick-measuring competition.

To answer the original question....

of course you will. You obviously have to have something to brag and complain about.

I will continue to game on the PC. I don't have a HDTV and have little desire to drop $$$ on one.

On the other hand, my aging 1.6 gHz PIV is more than adequate to play the games I enjoy.

I find the accusation that PCs lack innovation that can be found on consoles laughable. Right now, I'm playing three different "indie" games (Mount and Blade, Fate and OOTP). How many single-developer or small, indie made games appear on consoles?

No, I was actually seeking clarification.
Kobra wrote: To correct a few typos? The reality is I type 96wpm, and really don't care about the quality of my forum posts.
You should remember this before you postulate philisophical theory and then switch to pedestrian comments like "put down the crackpipe". I'm actually one of the few who likes to see a troll every once in a while. I just think that trolls need to have more stringent grammatical guidelines applied to them since they are obviously so intellectually superior to everyone else.
Kobra wrote: But rest assured, there is always some jackass reading the forum masturbating to his websters dictionary waiting for an opportune moment to strike.
Good Kobra, this sentence is showing promise but it still has a pedestrian feel to it. It has nice form, but remember that profanity is the linguistic crutch of an inarticulate motherfucker.
Kobra wrote:Perhaps in the future, I should bring a tissue, and consult you on my posts before I hit "Submit".

No you can go ahead and submit them. I will give you online lessons free of charge.

Everyone who bought a $600-1000 graphics card and is NOT a graphics designer or in a related career raise your hand. I'm guessing not many have.

Certainly not people who value gameplay over graphics.
Raises hand. In fact I plan to buy 2 for SLI mode.

And not because I don't care about gameplay, but I am fortunate enough I can afford it, so i want the best.

Yeah I'm going to do that. Dual cores, two videocards in sli, it should be sweet

I don't think the difference between SM3 and 2.1 (or whatever the non-3.0 mode is) in Splinter Cell is very significant. I was switching back and forth constantly throughout each level because I couldn't decide which mode I liked more. 3.0 seemed to have better lighting, but it lacked anti-aliasing. For the most part, I just stuck with default mode.
