Can I buy it directly from the devs? I don't want any of my money going to a scumbag publisher.

Did you update your videocard drivers? This game requires directX 9.0c compliance you know. The reference drivers should do the trick.

Ok, I understand that you don't like his games, and, yes, he often times deserves the reatcion he gets, but can we just cut out the Derek-bashing and focus on the 29.99 itself?

Come on people! We're in page two already. Where are the impressions?

Here's mine:

The manual fails the lift test. It has no helpful information at all. I am installing as I type. I intend to write more impression as I spend more hours on this damn thing.

My impressions?
I like the GUI, I like the attention to detail in the crates, but why are there so many crates? This is supposed to be a swimming sim!
I also hate that you have to be connected to Maets when you play.

Ahh, I couldn't take the OO pressure anymore and caved in and bought it. I will have impressions after teh wife and kids go to bed. With something like this I can't risk the kids sneaking in behind me and catching a glimps of it.

You see.... this is what happens when there is too many WoW threads. The rest of us are willing to jump in and talk about anything but WoW.

You're being harsh. Sure the interface is clumsy but when you get used to it you'll find out that this time they lived up to the hype. This is a living breathing world. Your actions make a difference, and it's up to you the game plays out.

This is their best game since SkyNET without a question.

Buy it for 29.99?!?! You are kidding yourself. You will never be able to buy this game - it's vaporware. From what I hear it won't get finished until the developer gets done turning his fallout shelter into a mansion.

Did anybody spot the G-Man yet?

SPOILER

The first time that you see him, he is taking a leak in the alleyway by the Dunkin Donuts. I think that he is peeing into a jar. It looks like a Hellman's jar. What did he do with the Macy's bag that he was holding on the roof of the Home Depot by the dock?

I have to replay that level tonight after work!

C'mon 5:00 o'clock!!!

Is it possible for me to get the magical doorstop of smelting without having purchased the collector's edition? I've always wanted a magical doorstop of smelting, but am unwilling to pay extra for it.

God damn it, this runs like total crap on my rig. I'm probably getting 20 fps MAX.

I hate these games where you have to drop $500 just to get it to a playable level.

Casual gamers my ass.

you know kadoth, you can get that from the same place you get <edited, COC rules>. i hear that the no- <edited - no point in leading people astray> also gets you an extra 10-15 fps. it's the best <edited out just because> you'll ever have. and don't forget the nude patch either. it's very easy with $29.99. all you have to do is <edited - why make it so difficult for me to do my job?>

No you d---, that's "Out of the Park".

Oops! I accidentally edited this, CSL. I meant to quote you and reply. Gack! I blame Meal and Blackhawk for moving this to Bargain Bin so that my mod powers would accidentally manifest!!!!

Pfft. This game reaks of consolitis and is just another dumbed-down shoddy port. This is truly the sign that PC gaming will die in 2005.

I decided against my better judgment to return to this and surprise! If you keep playing it gets better... in fact it gets awesome. I think you guys just need to get past the level in the park.
