The Brothers have no actual Borders as the Empire has not been divided evenly, they have cities and towns and villages declaring their allegiance or straining to remain neutral.

The description of the brother "caught between" is in reference to pressure from two brothers rather than geographical.
Okie doke feels like I am chasing my tale.

Thank you good sir for your proposition by I am afraid my brothers and I have a more urgent engagement that requires our attention.

I am ready to throw in with the weapons delivery then, leaving town I will signal for Johan. Are we on foot, riding in the wagon or being provided mounts for protecting the weapons shipment?

If on foot Johan and I will play perimeter scout, wagon or riding just keep a sharp eye and a bent ear.

The Shipment Caravan would consist of Three Wagons with room for One Guard each riding. They would provide a Horse for the Fourth, but as part of payment.
"Where are you off to?"
"I don't know," Snufkin replied.
The door shut again and Snufkin entered his forest, with a hundred miles of silence ahead of him.

I'd prefer any wagon but the front as horseback isn't really good for me (note to self, get some ride skill) and we need better eyes and ears than mine up there. I think Allanon on horse back as he's good with animals?

Yeah I have 1 rank in ride for now but plenty of animal empathy and what not to help me out. I would gladly take the horse and play scout then, riding about 100-200 yards in front of the main caravan, off the road when possible, taking cover and trying to be quiet and what not. Ya know like scouting

Wild Empathy check to make the horse like me
1d20+3
13+3 = 16

Also
Synergy
If you have 5 or more ranks in Handle Animal, you get a +2 bonus on Ride checks and wild empathy checks.

So technically thats an 18

Should help me with riding too
Just in case for ride check I will take 10 which gives me 15

I think this is the best plan my friends. I have been longing to get out of the city and be back out on the road. We shall see what we shall see.

I can also do a bit of scouting as well. My standard move rate is a bit faster than normal (monk), so I can stay ahead of the pack if needed.
Also, can we steal an idea from the other groups and have someone edit an earlier post to put all of our characters in one spot? I can try to get mine up here when I get back home today.

I have the character links in my first post on this thread. I don't think DocD has an online profile set up as far as I could find. His character is the last post on page 3 of the character creation thread.

Yeah, unfortunately I saw that just after I posted this. That is not my fully updated character though. I did mine on another site. I posted it in the Character Gen thread, so when I get home I will update the one we have here (stupid Websense...).

I agree, the orcs to the north are a greater threat. I'd prefer to ride on the wagons, but I'm a decent rider if no one else wishes to ride.

/ooc I don't have a lot of time this morning but quickly, I don't have an online profile if someone could direct me towards where I can set one up, I can try and get it done when I have some time.

I'll post about my code as soon as I have some free time.

I did mine on http://www.pathguy.com/cg35.htm It automatically updated a lot of things that the other one didn't, such as the monk abilities, the skills and such, etc.

Here is a full-layout of mine, about halfway down page 4 of the character gen page: http://www.octopusoverlords.com/phpBB2/ ... &start=120

Setting out:

The Caravan consists of Three Wagons:

Alpha Wagon is driven by Jerrod (Human) and is filled with Barrels.

Beta Wagon is driven by Derek (Human) and is filled with Long Wooden Boxes.

Charlie Wagon is driven by Yngma (Dwarf) and is filled with Netting wrapped around Small Boxes.

Sepha (Human) has her own Horse and rides alongside the Caravan.

Sepha suggests you choose your positions and keep an eye out for any signs of trouble.

Kupa climbs onto the rear wagon next to Yngma and keeps an eye to the rear. He sets his longbow down beside him for quick access.

"Well met, I'm Kupa", he spouts, exhausting his reserves of small talk.

Yngma nods to the boxes and netting.

After Allanon gently caresses the neck of his new light horse, I sense that your name is 'Corman' my large equine friend. Allanon then blows 3 short hard breaths into his signal whistle and Johan comes to rest on a branch nearby. Johan this is Corman, he will be joining us in our journeys, you stay close now and let me know if anything is amiss. Allanon guides Corman with his knees past each wagon making sure both his hand xbows are loaded and ready, slings his water skin over the pommel and tosses a chunk of raw meat to Johan. He nods to each of his brothers and to those they are protecting. I will ride out ahead and get the lay of the land, reporting back on every half of the hour. Grunts and eases Corman ahead of the caravan, studying the land around him and looking for signs of trouble.

Barring any crazy events I would like to make a survival check around midday and evening to hunt some small game for lunch and dinner. Also actively making spot checks and survival checks for tracks, danger, clues, things of interest, etc. Also a Knowledge Nature check to take a shot at the weather for the day.

I climb into the wagon with the long wooden boxes.

Greetings, friend Derrick. Do you find it as ironic as I do that the person guarding the weapons is the person least likely to use them if a fight breaks out?

I attempt to have a discussion with him about the differences between fighting with weapons and fighting hand-to-hand, pro's and con's of both, etc. Just trying to get a feel for what kind of person I am riding the wagon with.

I have a decent spot check and listen check so Hyena will not be required to roll (feel free if you wish  )

docD, grafvolluth: You hear the distant sounds of battle (clang clang grunt clang)

johan seems to indicate interest in the action to the left of the road up ahead.

Weather looks to be clear, you may successfully hunt a meal that will feed the party.

Kupa, perhaps we should check the area ahead. Sounds as if trouble is brewing.

Allanon shifts uneasily in his saddle, making sure that he is in visual range of one of his brothers he makes a head motion towards Johan and signals that he is moving ahead to check it out. He slowly guides Carmon towards the area, trying to stay silent and ready to bolt back to the safety of his group if the odds should turn quickly against him.

/ooc So yeah basically I am going to ease on up , assume I will be a bit ahead of everyone else to see if I can scope out the situation and hopefully everyone else can discern my intent.

Noting Allanon's suddenly cautious movement up ahead, Kupa nods to Hammerhands and jumps down from the wagon and follows Hammerhands up towards docD and Allanons position.

It sounds as though their is trouble ahead. Keep your head down Jerrod.

I hop off the wagon, cast mage armor on myself and follow my comrades towards the noise. Once we get closer I was cast shield on myself.

The noise is coming from a clearing that is to the left of the road.

After drawing closer, you see a dozen men battling.

Anyone with Knowledge Nobility and Royalty give me a roll.

Anyone without any Ranks in that skill give me an Int roll

(Roll d20 and add appropriate modifier)

Please post whether it is an Int or Knowledge roll.
