They must not block box covers.. because mine are all direct images from Moby. Either that or I just have the images cached.. hehPeacedog wrote:Moby games is pwning you guys.

I certainly remember Karateka, although I prefer the C64 version which has more colors than blue white & purple.Anyone remember this classic (I can't find the cover for it.. but it's an old school favorite of mine.. again on pc).

Karateka is one of the first games to attempt a really cinematic style, although it's not the first to use cutscenes (I think Pac Man wins that honor).

Four international cities? Is that what they called the gas stations?Get ready for the ultimate street racing experience with TEST DRIVE for the PC. Race through four international cities in more than 20 high-end sports cars as you sprint for the checkered flag and all the glory that goes with it. Remember, though, you'll have to watch out for more than just the competition: traffic, pedestrians, and especially the cops who can take you out of a race in a split second if you aren't careful. The excitement, intensity, and danger of street racing are yours for the taking with TEST DRIVE.

I loved that game. But I don't remember any pedestrians.. The cops I do remember.

Ah, but who has the ORIGINAL sub sim... Sphere's GATO?
Or MicroProse's Silent Service?
I think I still have my Gunship and the strategy guide Gunship Academy here somewhere... AND Gunship 2000 (never found the mission disk though...) and strategy guide.

I'm still kicking myself for not holding on to my old Microprose sims. Well I still have Fleet Defender but that's it :{
Yeah I definately remember Gato with that pink ocean on a shitty CGA monitor
Anyone remember Orbiter which I believe was also by Sphere or Spectrum Holobyte (Sphere a division of SH?). The Mac version of the game kicked ass as it had speech and the framerate was much faster than the POS 8086 I played it on. It had some missions where you could capture Soviet satelites and also a Hubble Telescope deployment mission.

What a great thread . . . I haven't retained any of my old classics, but seeing the box art for all of these really is a blast from the past. I have to say, I think I had the strongest reaction to the Bards Tale and Pirates boxes. I can't even begin to count the number of hours I spent with those games.
I never played Aces of the Deep, but the packaging and the map look great. I supposes I'm setting myself up for diappointment to hope that SHIII has a map like the Aces of the Deep one pictured. My all time favorite sub sim remains the original Silent Service. I'm hoping against hope that Silent Hunter III unseats it - three days and counting to find out!
