Ico is up for PS+. It is a PS2 classic, I believe, and well liked (although I've never played it.)

Rainbow Six: Vegas is up for the 360. It is a good health-regen/cover based action game, but whether it is a Rainbow game is up for debate.

Might and Magic Clash of Heroes is the next Games with Gold free title, starting 10/1.

The title is set in Ubisoft's Might & Magic universe and features a number of young heroes working together to save the world. The mechanics include a blend of army-building and match-3.

Overall so far, I'd say this program has been decidedly meh.

I agree. I'd like a couple new titles mixed in...maybe AssCreed 3 and heck I have no idea.

Also I wish when I went to download it from PC it wouldn't bring up my credit card info and ask me to confirm purchase...its free...that scares me.

Halo 3 is free to XBL Gold members starting 10/16.

So now everyone can be happy an almost 7 year old console shooter is free. Or something.

I knew my social circle was small, but...

I've never been a Halo fanboy, so I've never owned, rented, or borrowed a title. I played a bit of MP at someone else's house a couple times.

Never had it, never played it, still don't want it even for free. I got some uber legendary collector's edition of Halo 2 I think (game was inside a downsized helmet) because it was on clearance. Not my thing.

Exactly. People who own 360s fall into two camps: Those who have no desire to play Halo, and those who own Halo.

Which one is excited about this release?

For anyone paying attention, the XBL Games With Gold (tm) program will not end in December, but live on forever:

Games with Gold launched as a limited-time deal in July to “thank … Xbox Live Gold members.” It was supposed to dead-end this December. But Microsoft says the response was so positive, with gamers clocking “more than 120 million hours played with Games with Gold titles,” that it decided to make it permanent (though again, for Xbox 360 owners only, not Xbox One).

In your face Xbone owners.

Urban Trial Freestyle (PS Vita)

The only one that really catches my eye here is Borderlands 2. I've played it (a lot) on the PC, but the kids have been wishing for a copy to play, and I've been waiting for the GOTY to come down in price for them.

Starting on January 1st, XBL Gold members will get Sleeping Dogs for free. Then, on 1/16, it's Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. I'm pretty sure Sleeping Dogs is the first worthwhile promotion they're offering.

Starting Saturday (March 1st) Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution (Normally US $29.99) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through March 15th .

Then on March 16th, Xbox Live Gold Members can download Dungeon Defenders (Normally US $14.99) for free.

Very underwhelming month for me.

I'm not a big fan of fake-retro 2D games, and nearly everything on this month's list is exactly that.

In fact, nearly everything released on PS+ for the PS4 so far has been either a quasi-retro 2D game or a mindless action indie title. I realize that it is a new system and that they can't put out their AAA games for free yet, but I have yet to get a single PS4 game on Plus that I had any desire to play (well, maybe Don't Starve.)

Could be worse, you could have an Xbox One.

As of this moment the only XB1 game I own is Skylanders: Swap Force for my son and a little over $200 in trade credit at Gamestop waiting for something worth playing.

On May 1 Dust: An Elysian Tail (normally $14.99) will be free to Xbox Live Gold members through May 15.

Then on May 16, Xbox Live Gold Members can grab Saints Row: The Third (normally US $19.99) for free through May 30.

Who cares if Sony gave them away already? Honestly who cares? Few if any people are deciding which system to get based off the timing of freebies. The most important thing MS had to do was simply have freebies. Now they do. I highly doubt they lost any sales because saints row was free on ps3 6 months ago.

If people wanted the game that bad 20 bucks isn't going to decide the system for them.

What I want is for them to start getting some xbox one games free. I know that is the new plan, just wondering when they will start. Obviously they need a few more games to offer any for free!

Wouldn't there actually need to be games to give away for that to happen?

Have they actually said anything since November of last year regarding XB1 and Games for Gold? I was under the impression they said, "Uhh..yeah. We will..uhh..look into that..." and never again has it been mentioned.

I haven't followed closely to be honest but I did read they planned on continuing it eventually. The pool of games is pretty small right now so I'm not expecting much.

From June 1 through 15, Dark Souls will be available on Xbox 360.

Later in the month (from the 16th through 30th), Charlie Murder and the bonus title, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, will be available.

Xbox one games are now included in games with gold. Also a new deals with Gold has been rolled out.

This first month does not have amazing games, one is Max the curse of the brotherhood, the other is Halo spartan assault. Not great, but there are not a lot of games out for Xbox One yet so I'm not surprised.
