I’ve heard this new season described as the Ted Lasso of superhero shows.

I'm feeling pretty good that it's going to happen. I know opinions vary, but I really liked that show and it feels like a cameo is totally appropriate.

Me too. I just recently re-watched it and it is just a really, really enjoyable show. Something that a lot of the Marvel series are missing.

Plus, I thought Tatiana Maslany was just damn adorable and perfect for the role of Jennifer.

I just want pure Kingpin/Daredevil confrontation.

Update: Son of a…
Spoiler:
15 minutes in and the show already broke my goddamn heart. I loved Foggy! Damn it all. They’re playing for keeps this season, that’s for sure.

And that opening fight scene? Fantastic.
Update 2: and done with episode 1. Absolutely great from beginning to end.

Regarding your spoiler..
Spoiler:
My wife and both yelled What the Fuck?! At that. I REALLY kept thinking (and hoping) that it was a fake out. Even the time jump made me think we'll see Foggy either walk into the room or, worst case scenario, in a coma.
Once it hit home we were devastated as The Bash Brother made an excellent Foggy! HE WILL BE MiSSED!!!!
As for the first episode it was spot on. It also moved quickly and we didn't even notice an hour went by. This is not your usual Disney show and as long as they keep this up any fears of them running this will be laid to rest.

Yeah, I was not expecting what happened in Ep1 to happen at all. I guess it makes sense - from a way to setup the main story, but man...that was tough.

Really enjoyed the first episode, regardless. I made it about 25% into the second one but it was too late to continue.

It's really interesting to me to see the Disney (presumably) influence on the look and feel. I liked the Netflix version of the show - it's still fantastic - but this felt more like an MCU-adjacent take on the character.

I felt the first episode was a bit slow on the pacing. But I enjoyed it. Bummed about what happened.
Spoiler:
I mean that was part of the main chemistry of the show. If someone had to go, I wouldn't be upset if the girl took the hit.

Spoiler:
Or have Rosario Dawson's character jump in front of the bullet right before it struck Foggy. I would've cheered, I know.

I suspect that Foggy's death was intended to either remove Daredevil's restraint during his vigilante pursuit, or cause him to remember what Foggy stood for and hold him back from the edge. Foggy was the moral center in Murdoch's life. One he sorely needed.

First and second.
There are only 9 episodes this season and they kind of already wasted 2 of them without moving any story forward.
But I'll continue to watch.

When you saw that I liked the first episode a lot, why did you bother watching it?

The story is moving along fine. I’m diggin’ it big time. Hell, I could go for more quiet moments with Kingpin and Murdoch just discussing who they really are. I love character driven shows. Action heavy shows are a dime a dozen. Andor was another one that some folks complained was too slow, and I wholeheartedly disagreed.

I hate that we've gotten to a point in TV storytelling where this is matters.

Maybe if there werent 3 seasons that have already set most of this up, I'd feel different.
Plus, try as they may, they'll never outdo the original hallway fight scene.

Finished the second episode last night and also really enjoyed it. It would seem there are...lots of people online not enjoying the show and I just don't get it. I suppose if you had specific expectations, maybe I could see being disappointed. This is a soft reboot of the Netflix version, trying to bring him into alignment with the MCU - which he technically wasn't part of until now. I think it's off to a great start and I'm looking forward to more.

Also did anyone recognize Fisk's assistant, Daniel?

I'm surprised that there's kickback against this reboot. The RT scores for both audiences and critics are solid, if not outstanding, for both. Usually when there's a goofy ass reason for the usual group to hate something (like the "hey, Brie Larson, smile more" shit) the audience score gets hijacked by dumbasses.

Regarding person
Spoiler:
We don't know it's actually Frank Castle yet.
Remember, the police are wearing his symbol as well with tattoos so it could really be anyone which would explain why we don't see his face.
Buts that's just a theory of mine.

That's a good point! Regarding your tattoo observation:
Spoiler:
I was wondering if part of the story arc for this season was how they were going to address the real world issue of the police using the Punisher logo - something the comic creator has commented on. Your observation feels like it might be potentially connected to that - where Frank makes a return because the police are using him and his imagery

Spoiler:
From the trailer for the show with Frank being so emotional and upset in one scene, I'm 100% sure that wasn't Frank that killed White Tiger, but a cop. I believe that was an actual storyline in one of the comics too, so I'm sure next episode the real Punisher will arrive and start taking out the cops killing vigilantes in his name

Yeah, I really believe that last shot was an intentional misdirect intended to get a certain someone into the show for a solid reason that makes sense within the story. The writing so far on this show has been fantastic!

Yes, a few minutes after the episode ended I came to the same conclusion that it's likely a misdirect.

I am enjoying this reboot very much, but before long I may start complaining about the lack of Daredevil in Daredevil...

Did he run for mayor in previous seasons on the netflix show? I don't remember that. :?

But I love D'Onofrio's Kingpin, so I'm on board with any stories they give us featuring him. D'Onofrio just makes him so damn complex.
