FWIW, I finally did buy the Koss and now I have a BT adapter to go with it. I haven't sugru'ed the cable yet. The new adapter has very good range, and a shirt-clip (unlike the old one I dug up) AND I have a lanyard which I can adapt to wear this adapter as a pendant instead of clip it to my shirt pocket. It works great with phone and tablet, so next would be try it with the PC.
