True, just remember it's a dodge, movement game not a cover shooter game.

Just looked at that Final Fantasy game. So that franchise turned into a fighting genre? I always thought that was a JRPG (which I guess IS a fighting game -def more fighting imo than “RPG”)

Reviews are off the charts (I presume from FF fanboys/nostalgia).

I wouldn't call it a fighting game, but it is an ARPG now rather than turn based (but maybe turn- based is an option?). I think the combat worked well and certainly was more entertaining to me that the traditional FF combat.

Weird, I can't find whatever screenshots/gifs I saw that prompted me to make that comment. I just looked up some review videos and there is obviously a lot of 360º motion, and depth of field fighting, moving forward and back, not just left to right) etc.

What I saw initially looked very much like an Injustice game on crack (only side to side movement).

FWIW I love both Injustice games. Probably one of my favorite games on console (and one of the few where I can actually play better using a controller)

And it's why I've moved away from the series (and most JRPGs since this trend began) when it used to be one of my favorites. Reaction vs reason, chaos vs control. It's be like them rebooting XCom with Diablo controls.

I’m sure there’s probably some nostalgia and fanboy-ism at play, but it’s also just a really good game.

Seriously though, I think it's a fantastic game regardless of how much you have invested in the original. Doubly so when it's "free". We talked about it for a few pages here.

THANK you for putting "free" in quotes. Pet peave of mine on slickdeals.net where every time Sony announces the monthly games, it's posted as if it were actual free game giveaways.

I liken it to touting 4 FREE CAR TIRES (NEW)!!!! and then in tiny letters, hidden almost, "with purchase of new car". Why must we always go to car analogies?

That's annoyed me for years. I sometimes wonder how they get away with advertising games as 'free with subscription.' That's like saying, 'free when you pay.'

Maybe it was my post on the Tifa fighting guides that I found on the net, and how playing with Tifa is the closest to playing a fighting game in Final Fantasy? She definitely fits the bill. I could play a whole Double-Dragon-esque or Streets of Rage style Final Fantasy game with Tifa's combos.

This seems worth mentioning here. I just did it for Destruction All Stars (which is active through April 6) and Maquette.

You can claim PS+ games for PS5 without actually having a PS5

The easiest way to nab these titles is through the PS5 itself, as the console’s dashboard has a baked-in PS Plus portal. Just click a few buttons, and the game you want will pop into your digital library. In the event you don’t have a PS5 on which you can actually do that, you can claim your games through a browser.

- First, go to Sony’s landing page for monthly PS Plus games.
- Click “find out more” for the game you want, which will take you to its store page.
- If you’re signed into the store with the same PlayStation account that’s signed up for PS Plus, the price tag should be stricken out. Instead of a “Buy” button, you should instead see an “Add to Library” icon. Click on that.
