Isn't it common at press conferences for reporters to ask questions out of turn? Would it be better if only reporters politicians like were allowed to ask questions and only when they are called on? Not sure what awesome-sauce thing you so enamored by here but it seems to revolve around a love of authority and having a neutered press.

Its as always..you ask your question when called upon and you aren't a rude ass who starts spamming your question. The mod banned him. But dont think I like Trump. I HATE all the candidates . I may vote but only if I like one less than another and vote against someone that way. I have no horse in the race. They are all idiots.

I watched the clip of that, and as much as I hate to admit it, in this case Trump was right. He had given the floor to another reporter, and this guy just jumped up, interrupted, and started peppering questions.

As big an ass as Trump is, I have a hard time sympathizing with the guy who got kicked out.

Oh shit, I only just read the article itself and realized that it's not just any Univision reporter, it's Jorge Ramos. Jorge Ramos is "the Walter Cronkite of Latino America". He is insanely influential.

By the time Trump is done, he might get 0 Hispanic votes. Not 0%, but literally 0. The GOP leadership must be over the moon thrilled with what he is doing to the party's standing among Hispanic voters.

From the NY Times profile I linked:
“Remember what L.B.J. said, ‘When you lose Walter Cronkite, you’ve lost the war’?” said Matthew Dowd, a campaign adviser to George W. Bush, recalling the oft-cited if disputed story that President Lyndon B. Johnson said he lost “middle America” when Cronkite turned against the Vietnam War. Among Latino voters, Mr. Ramos has the sort of influence and audience that Cronkite had more broadly among Americans in his day.

Mr. Ramos is “not only a journalist, he’s become the voice of the Latino constituency,” Mr. Dowd said. “And that’s where Republicans have to worry — you don’t want to lose Jorge Ramos.”
I'm kind of surprised at this point that the RNC hasn't hired a hitman to take out Trump - I think the PR fallout from that coming to light would be preferable to the impact of Trump being a leading GOP contender.

It's fascinating how calculating Trump is. He's taking on Fox News who had been propping him up and the Univision will be huge free press for his fearlessness. I have no idea who Jorge Ramos is and Trump said he had no idea who Ramos is and he was not involved in kicking him out and let him back in. And yet even though said he had no idea who Ramos is, he referred to him as Mr Univision. Which both could be taken a slur and as referencing as the central figure of Univision.

He's a rich in politics man taking on the rich influence of politics and killing it. Even John Stewart give him kudos. He's taking on the media in all fashions and using them for his publicity. Hate Fox News? Well, Trump is no friend of Fox News and ratings grabs...

Dude's a savant. I don't want him as president. His reality TV approach to everything terrifies me and makes me think of things like Idiocracy but damn he plays the game.

I don't want him as president. I don't like his methods. I hate reality TV. I hate media whoring and yet I can't get enough of him.

I am what is wrong with America. When did that happen?

I'm very curious about the context of the Ramos spat. Ramos has enough stature that I wonder what the circumstances of his 'outburst' were. Was he riled by a Trump comment, was he passed up repeatedly for opportunities to ask questions, etc?

I didn't know Ramos' significance until this morning, and given Trumps strong ties to the Latino community, I doubt he did as well. As I said, the clip I saw showed Ramos jumping up and interrupting another reporter who Trump had called upon, so there's that. It's entirely possible Ramos identified himself as being from Univision either earlier or during the exchange with Trump.

It didn't look to me like Trump had him kicked out - security seemed to act on their own. By the way, the security guard put his hands on Ramos, which he's not allowed to do unless Ramos makes physical contact first. Had it been me, I would have stopped, called the police, and filed assault charges.

The video I saw may have been selectively edited, but it was on CNN.com, so I tend to think not.

I saw a later video (also on CNN, iirc) of Trump having a polite discussion with someone who appeared to be Ramos, so it's true that he was allowed back in.

They did, but he was taken out by Trump's anti-hitman. Lots of wetwork in the background here.

Watch the video. 25 seconds in he looks at the security guard and says "Go ahead." The guard immediately walks over to throw Jorge out.

You're right. I didn't catch that because he had also said "Go ahead" several times to the reporter he had called upon.

What worries me is that many other candidates will follow the reality-tv path that he's blazing, and every future campaign will feature a race to the bottom. There is no value in dignity.

I assume that's chorizo, egg and pepper? Can that be eaten as finger food?

It's only eaten as a finger food. I think eating an empanada with a fork and knife would get the same reaction as eating a slice with utensils would in NY.

Not chorizo, usually seasoned beef. Onions, olives (blech, but I eat them anyway), seasoned beef, and peppers. There are variations all over Latin America, but I think Argentina nails it better than anyone else.

There's a Costa Rican joint that my wife and I order from frequently, and they have empanadas with a masa (corn meal) base. They're unbelievably good.

Olives could be a deal breaker. For reasons I can't explain I love black olive slices. I think I actually like the taste of lye or something. Aside from that, nope. Olives are the of flavor revulsion. They are the flavor of looking at someone getting a limb amputated. They are the flavor a slow Elvis Costello song. They are the flavor putting you hand on an electric stove turned up all the way. If putting a 9 volt battery on your tongue was a flavor, that would be the flavor of green/greek/etc olives.
