I wash dishes by hand, and thoroughness is my watchword. Seeing that video makes me think the rest of you are drinking out of dirty mugs.

We have a dishwasher and I still wash most of my stuff by hand. I can't believe commercials that show people putting un-rinsed plates full of caked on food inside one - I call BS, unless dishwasher technology has advanced tremendously over my current one. The stuff I do put in the dishwasher is thoroughly rinsed. I look at it as more of a hot-water sanitizing rinse more than a "washer."

I think they have advanced quiet a bit if you pay for one of the better ones. I still have a tendency to rinse most of the chunks off our dishes first, but as long as you don't let it sit and get crusted on, our Bosch does a great job of cleaning even very dirty dishes. I do think there is a big performance difference between low and higher-end dishwashers.

I dunno, our low-end dishwasher does a fine job of cleaning with even the most cursory pre-rinse. There's one corner where an inverted glass on the top row won't get fully clean, but otherwise no complaints. I think their secret is that automatic dishwasher detergent is incredibly caustic.

Truth is a significant amount of links to recent tv videos don't make it across the border and if I really care, I have to track down a Canadian licensee source. But I usually don't care.

Cobert and Oliver seem to be cool, but I'd always have to dig around in a Canadian media site for the clips of the Daily Show, for example.

Gotta agree with them. Too PC these days. I was watching vids of The Dukes of Hazzard last night. Many say its syndicated run was cancelled because of the flag on the General Lee. Thats so stupid. if you dont like it then dont watch it. Dont ruin it for others and those in charge dont bow down to the few or hell even the many. If they dont like it they dont have to watch it.

Even though Giger never had a son, I imagine this would be a somewhat likely portrayal of what it would have been like.
