Why is it that someone who takes such pride in himself for "saying it like it is" has such a thin skin when others do the same, but he doesn't like what they say?

I get the theory, but given the amount of mockery he's been subjected to from all quarters, the number of prominent Republicans that refuse to support him and his historic negatives, I don't think it's going to work for him.
