So it's ok for the government to force Twitter to let whoever they want in their establishment? Does the same go for her Shooters restaurant? How about those pesky COVID restrictions she didn't follow in her establishment?
Wonder how she'd feel if she was told she couldn't tell people on her property to leave.

If only there was some other way for the President to speak to the nation, other than using Twitter.
You might be on to something. Like gather the media into one room so they can take in what he says and then maybe even answer questions posed to him so he's not taken out of context.

To build on that, maybe those media people could then distribute the information far and wide, perhaps even worldwide.

Bad day for Trump. This is nothing compared to losing direct access to his cult but still good for Lehigh.

It's almost like there's a really good reason a world leader shouldn't have direct, unfettered access to an online megaphone? Let's call that the Trump experiment and make sure it never happens again.

Yah, that's what I was getting at above. It's actually pretty terrifying they all of sudden before inauguration decided action was needed right now for q-anon, trumpers and parler and got it done across multiple major tech giants. As EmptyWheel indicates, they are privy to a lot of intel and likely know that icky things are being planned on their platforms. I sure hope they honey pot the shit out of them at the same time.

I think twitter can hear the new government sharpening its carving knife.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence that all of these social media platforms and platform hosts are suddenly very concerned about things now that the Democrats officially control Congress and could theoretically set up commissions and hearings. Yes, I'm cynical, why did you ask?
Trump and all of these instigators should have been banned a long time ago.
Awww, you beat me to it.

Agree but still find the timing of them doing all of this at once today pretty concerning. The speed makes me think it wasn't just catering to their future masters as it were.

Yeah. I won't be surprised to hear they got a visit from the FBI as well. I really think Wray quietly did much to help.
Edit: I just saw mention that groups were shutdown on Discord as well.

I'm of two minds on this. On the one hand, yes, it's concerning. On the other, all these platforms have been wanting to nuke Trump for years, but were too craven to actually do it. I think as soon as one major platform pushed over the first domino...

There have been instances of twitter/facebook/youtube/whatever banning/locking accounts that I felt concerning/arbitrary.
Trump had clearly and repeatedly gone far beyond their codes of conduct that this is not concerning to me at all, except for how long it took to do it.

Trump being removed from Twitter shouldn't be a big deal. Doesn't he give secret information about the plan through Q anyway? Something isn't adding up...
I'm starting to suspect Q may not be who he says he is.

I stand with @gopleader in calling on Congress and Joe Biden to address actions to unify our nation and not engaging in activities such as impeachment that will further divide us.
McCarthy voted twice to decertify the electors of 2 states. He can take his unity and stuff it.

Buzzfeed
Helena Duke, 18, thought it was odd when her mom shut off her location on a phone-tracking app that they share earlier this week. Her mom, Therese Duke, had told her vaguely that she was taking Helena’s aunt for a procedure. But Helena suspected that her Trump-supporting mom may have secretly traveled to Washington, DC, for the delusional last-ditch "Stop the Steal" rally.
On Thursday morning, Helena's cousin had sent her a viral video of a physical encounter on the streets of DC filmed Tuesday, the night before the Capitol was raided.
Watching the clip, Helena identified her mom, her aunt Annie Lorenz, and her uncle Richard Lorenz as part of a group of white people confronting a Black woman who had hit Therese in the face after she had tried to grab her.
...
Stunned to see her mom, Helena decided to tweet about the video and identified her family members as the people in it. "hi mom remember the time you told me I shouldn't go to BLM protests bc they could get violent...this you?" she wrote.
