Uh... No actually, it's not "only" if I insist upon the rather illogical notation used in my country.Anonymous Bosch wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 4:53 pmOnly if you insist upon the rather illogical date and time notation used in the U.S., which differs from those used in nearly all other countries:
It's also a palindrome if you use the IT friendly 20211202

Ok, but that is also a palindrome.LordMortis wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 3:42 pm Only I write dates so they auto sort. Today is 20211202 unless I have to express to someone else. I'm not an engineer or anything but since keeping date iterations of anything it has made much more sense to track time like a counter.

If it's typed in digital/LCD numbers (like an alarm clock), it also read the same if you turned it upside down.Unagi wrote:I just noticed today's date when I wrote it down. It's a rather large (supposedly very lucky) palindrome...

Wednesday I was driving my car when all the water/fluid drained out of and it died. Just got it towed to the repair place. I have a pickup and I started to drive it to the repair place and the power steering went out. My stepson said the belt had slipped off because the water pump is leaking water.
Good thing I had just gotten groceries today.
Merry Xmas!

I had a timing belt go out on a Ford Fiesta on the way home on Xmas. That was when I learned they used rubber belts instead of chains. I dont know how Taco Bell keeps getting along with their sauces. The MILD and HOT are basically colored water. I asked them today for their hottest sauces and they gave me some called FIRE and some Diablo. ...To my taste buds FIRE should be their mild and Diablo their medium...if that. It has a little heat and some flavor.

Late to the conversation but oddly I'm the reverse. I enjoy a beer with friends but I also find I enjoy the taste of beer with food. With Covid we weren't going out so we made meals at home just a tad fancier by buying more craft beer. Once I'm back in the states I'm going to look into some of the non-alcoholic beers or try my hand at brewing some.LordMortis wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 11:09 am I miss being social with a beer, but don't miss not having the beer itself.

The inventor of Tickle Me Elmo was a Unabomber suspect
Thats kinda unreal. They shared so many coincidences that the FBI talked to him on the phone every 2 weeks for years and even interviewed him over and over.

Until Kaczynski's arrest in 1996, Johnson-Williams talked to the FBI frequently— both in-person and, about once ever two weeks, over the phone.

Achievement unlocked: I made calzones, and they were delicious. This is important because of the lack of any good restaurant calzone in my vicinity. I look forward to perfecting this recipe.

Local restaurants think that folding a pizza in half makes it a calzone. They are wrong.

If farts are mostly methane and other lighter than air gasses, then farting makes you weigh more.

Only true if you're taking in other gas at the same time that you're farting. Otherwise, the act is still a net negative on your overall mass.Jaymon wrote:If farts are mostly methane and other lighter than air gasses, then farting makes you weigh more.
The bigger question...is it easier to fart while standing on your head because the less dense gas should rise?

Re: Random randomness
is a net negative in your overall mass true, but, on a scale, lighter than air gasses act like they would in a balloon. If you put a helium balloon on a scale, and gradually "fart" out the helium, it would weigh more and more on the scale until all the helium is gone.

True... highlights the important distinction between weight and mass, and you did say "weight" in your previous post.Jaymon wrote:is a net negative in your overall mass true, but, on a scale, lighter than air gasses act like they would in a balloon. I don't think we really had a fascination with the octopus. It was just a chuckle at a Lovecraftian twist on a Simpsons quote that stuck like a pair of lime green Speedos. We could just as easily have been the Brute Squad or the Bullshit Puppies (although I'm not sure the latter was around yet...) We only really started posting octopi after they became the mascot.
