When I was a kid I had a round one in both a bumblebee and a wasp. I also had a large oval flat one that was a rattlesnake in it.

Party pooping! Yay!
It's a little more complicated than what that article suggests. I have worked with the kind of resin they're talking about. First off, it's incredibly nasty stuff before it is fully cured. You need to be wearing gloves and wearing a respirator with a NIOSH certified organic vapor filter. You'll need a heat gun to get the resin fully clear that way. And it takes a long time to cure, so you'll need a place to let it sit until, as they say, "the liquid hardens inside." That's going to be around a week for something of that size.
And what you get out will not look like that. Their photo was almost certainly made in a silicone mold, not a vending machine capsule. And when it comes out, it's likely going to require extensive sanding and polishing with a buffing compound.
Here is a better how-to:
And if you want the really good results, check this one out:
And if you really want to see some amazing stuff, check out the guy's channel. Not only are his creations amazing, his videos are relaxing to watch - almost Bob Ross-like.

Neat. My sister said she picked up one at the thrift store for .60 cents. Amazon sells them for $60.

I'm in Philadelphia, and we've been getting sporadic local fireworks (but not gunfire) since sundown.

But the rent’s cheap. And in my neighborhood, the problem areas are 2-3 blocks away.

Every now and again on a lazy Sunday Ill walk through the house and use my 1980s monster truck announcer voice. My dog just looks at me as if Ive lost my last marble.
Been doing it since the 80s.
"Sunday SunDAY SUNDAAAAY!, We've got big trucks with their GIANT ENGINES!!!, crushing little cars and their tiny hubcaps!"
Dog gives me a wide birth.

How often do you need to run your vehicle? Been a couple of months for my truck. When I drove my car last week it had been a couple of weeks for it.
I don't particularly like to drive and with the price of gas I don't get out much. Plus with the side effects of my medicine it's best if I keep off the road.

If you have a newfangled vehicle with a lot of electronic gewgaws, you should start it once a week or so because it's constantly sipping your battery.

Also for corrosion on brakes as well as tire rot, you should try and move it around even just a little , once a week.
So, start it - move it down your drive way, let it sit their for a while , maybe a drive around the block.

Got me a big ole RC Cola this morning at the store. Was my favorite soda as a child. I dont remember having a Coke except in eateries. Seems sweeter than Coke.

Been hearing it all weekend. Over here they'll use every opportunity to fire them off.

Asked my neighbor last night consider not shooting exploding fireworks off in front of my house as it's terrifying my dog. Instead, they relocated 20 feet away to the front of their house and proceeded to aim the fireworks to explode in front of my house.
Enraging.
I'm thinking next year I might rent a water truck, park it on the edge of my lawn and just randomly decide to wash down the street with a high pressure hose at random points in the day and night.

My chihuahua gets up on the highest part of the bed (a pillow mountain) and goes to sleep. He may raise an eyebrow. My German Shepard that passed away though would whine and pace back and forth. He hated fireworks and storms.

I think you have a right to complain. This year I've noticed articles asking those shooting fireworks to think of the effects on dogs, that some have developed behavioral issues due to them because they can be very traumatic to them, especially if a dog has been abused in the past.

That might encourage the behavior. Dad used to tap the local fire hydrant to clean up the residue. And to ensure any unspent fireworks on the street were no longer usable.

How long do we need to celebrate something that was 246 years ago? I can only imagine how big the 250 year celebration will be in 2026. But it doesn't mean as much to me as the 1976 Bicentennial did.

Our neighborhood has a traditional 4th of July parade every year. The Scouts, churches (etc), community organizations, school bands, etc usually come out for an hour or so of marching and music and the occasional truck-bed float. It's a little kitschy and skews pretty conservative, but parades are fun and exciting, especially for little kids.
I can't help noticing that this year's was a shadow of its former self. Not only was participation way down, but sidewalk attendance too.
I think it's hard for people to be proud of America right now.

In He never lived there was a neighbor who was playing music too loud. So our hero went into the hallway to see what this was all about and ended up eating the guy.
I thought this was an appropriate response.
