If Ive posted these before well too bad These are great videos. Im a big fan of vintage steam trains. As a kid I was lucky enough to ride a passenger rail on a all day round trip. Great memories. We have the Chattanooga Railroad Museum here which has a lot of vintage steam stuff and does the excursions.

#844...A Northern type locomotive with a 4-8-4 wheel config. If you can see how large the driver wheels are you can tell she is made for speed. Top speed 120 mph...Daaaamn fast for a steamer. And she is a beauty to boot.

The second is a powerful brute of a locomotive. It was designed to pull long heavy freight over mountains. Its the 2nd largest type..a 4-6-6-4 Challenger. Top speed only 60mph...but damn it looks good doing it.

Union Pacific is also now the proud owner of the largest steam locomotive made..a 4-8-8-4 articulated beast named Big Boy. They are restoring it now. Articulated means that is was so huge it could not take curves without the undersides being in two pieces. So as it takes a curve the boiler and such stay straight as one piece but the two wheel halves each take the curve separately..they are hinged.

The only video I have of #4014 is where they were dragging it home with diesels..damn thing is a huge old monster that refused to fossilize

S7 has been available for streaming on Netflix Canada since last summer.

Towards the end where he had cut off the mustang or whatever car that was, he had an empty lane, but decided to in the far right to tailgate another car. Really makes no sense
