Funny how you're bitching at someone else to vote, when you're still without a vote yourself.
He actually voted to stake Mark earlier, but has retracted it.

Excuse me guys, I just had a thought: If we are worried about vampires, why don't we just hold a barbecue in the center of town at noon and make participating mandatory? For insurance, we can add garlic to the burgers and eat the potato salad with forks made of silver.

I'm not feeling good about voting for Grenard but his ... defense ... makes my bandwagon vote a little less guilt-ridden.

Stake Chris Grenard

Sorry, Chris.

It's cool. Honestly, at this point, something needs to happen to get us to day 2. And I'm about the most useless guy we've got, as not only am I without a role, but due to the sheer number of posts made I have been completely unable to keep up.

Ok, but no potato salad for the Piles of Ash...

Also according to the latest vote tally, it looks like Grund and Varity can now vote and have the plurality apply to Grenard.

See, Chris. I told you I'd get you more involved!

I change my vote to Grenard.

Ok, before I die, anybody have anything they need to communicate anonymously to another person? I will forward messages, minus the senders name, of course, for anybody who needs that.

For example, if you're the Alpha and you're about to die, you'll gladly pass lore about Specials to anyone... including the people you know you've chosen?

What idiot would take you up on such a high risk offer?

Sorry. I hadn't read page 12 yet.

Looks as if ChrisGrenard's fate is sealed.

To trigger the plurality rule, I vote against Crux

Look at it this way: If I'm actually a vamp, which is highly unlikely, then you'd know by tomorrow anyway.

And don't send me info like your rank or something. More like, Person A says, "Send this to person C, 'I checked you and you aren't human.'" or something like that.

Don't get your panties in a bunch.

Right, but telling you things now would enable you to inform your minions, even though they don't yet know that they're your minions.

The Seers haven't checked anyone out yet; we're still on the first afternoon. ;)

In any case, farewell, ChrisGrenard. I have no reason to think you were a Vamp or a Vamp Designate, and the fact that you were slain for basically no reason at all doesn't make me proud of my village.

I'm just pouting because I tried to do the right thing and have a reason, however tenuous, for the choice. Instead, we're stuck with "Bubba looks like the sort of person an Alpha Vamp might choose" and I'm less confident about psychoanalyzing an unknown Alpha than noxiousdog is.

Plurality Achieved! We have a vote!

As the villagers stood in the Green debating strategy, one of their number, a likely lad named Chris Grenard stepped forward. "I love me some steak!"

A hush fell upon the gathered masses. Suddenly, Villager Kelric stepped up and whacked young Grenard across the head with a wooden shillelagh. As Grenard slumped to his knees, stunned and near-unconscious, noxiousdog pinioned his arms behind him and dragged him to a work table. Gasping as he tried to regain his senses, Chaosraven and Mark held his arms while Leigh grappled his legs still. Then setaside, shaking his head sorrowfully, placed a sharped wooden table leg from his lathe over Grenard's chest and proner drove it home. Blood sprayed and spattered the villagers.

"Burn him just to make sure!"

As the acrid smoke of ChrisGrenard's burning, distinctly human, flesh filled their nostrils, the villagers realized they were no closer to catching their vampire than they had been a few minutes before.

Ok, I need any living Seers, Vampire Hunter, and Vampires to pm me their relevant picks. IT IS NIGHT!

I voted for Mark, but you failed to garner enough support and I didn't want to wait the rest of the weekend just to get to the first night.

noxiousdog put self-importance before the interests of the village. He committed in private to following one path, and then followed another in public.

That doesn't make him a non-Mason, but it does mean that people working with him should watch their backs.
and I didn't want to wait the rest of the weekend just to get to the first night.
I hear that. Now things get interesting.

{Edit: for the record:
  • against ChrisGrenard 6 votes (noxiousdog, Mark, pr0ner, setaside, Kelric, Varity)
  • against Crux: 1 vote (Grundbegriff)
  • against Grundbegriff: 2 votes (Orinoco, msteelers)
  • against Mark: 2 votes (Chaosraven, JD)
  • against Mr Bubbles: 1 vote (Crux)
  • against msteelers: 2 votes (Leigh, Mr Bubbles)
  • against Varity: 1 vote (ChrisGrenard)

Kelric, Mark, noxiousdog, pr0ner, setaside, and Varity have scored one for the Vampires....

As opposed to your self-importance?

Of course they should.

noxiousdog wrote:As opposed to your self-importance?
Correct.
Maybe.
Fifteen players, among whom one is an Alpha. If you've accounted for two Seers, the Hunter, and the other Mason, you have a web of five. Of the remaining nine, two are Beta and Gamma Vampires.

There was a 2 in 9 chance that your more or less randomly chosen victim was going to become a Vampire.

Not good odds. What probably happened is that ChrisGrenard was an innocent, non-infected villager whose life might've bought valuable time, at least as vampire fodder.

If you're not a vampire and he wasn't infected/Vampiric, then you need a solid alliance of 8 to win.

I'm glad the game can get moving, at any rate. The addition of two hidden Betas makes things more interesting - especially since we don't know who we got. For all we know, Chris could have been one of them. Of course, if I were the Alpha using noxiousdog and Grund as my unwitting dupes, this is a really good result for me.*

*Of course I'm human, but at this point in the game there's quite a few people acting strangely, either from habit, deliberate action, or pure stupidity.

The morning cycle should be interesting...
