Exactly. Whether tru1cy turns up wolf or not can provide me a little more info about Remus due to the tru1cy comment earlier. Got to break a few eggs to make an omelet.tru1cy wrote:Vorret wrote:Gotcha.

and I 100% agree with this also. We must lynch someone by the deadline. Re: [WW] - The Pirates of the Flying Octopi -Day 2
This is, in fact, exactly what I was doing. I started an exchange with Lassr over nothing. I wanted to see how other characterized it. Of the ones who did not ignore it (which I also found fascinating) Vorret's pokes at Lassr caught my eye the most. He seemed to be testing the water for a push to lynch Lassr. I lean heavily wolf on Vorret. While I could see Vorret poking like that to see if he should maybe be voting for a partner that will be lynched soon I don't like basing one players "wolfiness" off a guess (educated or otherwise) regarding another player and Lassr himself seems human. Which worries me but I have no intention of voting there any time soon. I'm not certain I understand why people think pr0ner's reasoning for not voting Holman makes sense. If we believe he is a wolf then we should lynch him. The return from that vote would tell us a lot now rather than waiting until later when getting a wolf may be more urgent. It is almost as though pr0ner is holding off on voting Holman as a way of banking a miss for later in the game or buying a teammate more time. Having said that regarding pr0ner, I don't like Holman's "vote looking for a home" comment. It shows a lack of concern with who he ends up lynching. While that is an attitude I expect out of Chaosraven or myself I expect newbies to have some paranoia regarding the possibility of lynching the Seer. I do not expect a wolf newbie to have that same paranoia at all.tru1cy wrote:My guess he was watching to see who would jump on you too
I'm happy to vote for Vorret today.
I'm happy to vote for Holman today.
I'm happy to vote for pr0ner today.
I do not think both Holman and pr0ner are wolves based off the above but I do not rule it out either.
Vorret
as for the deadline, it is Friday. We have time. Yes, we must make a lynch but we do not need to be rushed about making our decision just yet. Those last two posts make me wonder as they both come across like they are trying to get folks to toss a quick vote out rather than thinking it over.

I'm kind of wondering. Have we ever seen tru1cy express this concern in a previous game? I don't think I have. Unless someone remembers something I have to wonder why this game with literally 5 days to the deadline would tru1cy express this concern for the first time ever?tru1cy wrote:Just to add I implore you guys to vote for someone before the deadline as we've learned from previous games a missed chance at a lynch tends to go badly for the good guysLassr wrote:Exactly. tru1cy is out of character insofar as he's posting significantly more than usual. So yes, I don't recall him posting about deadlines before, but then I don't recall many tru1cy posts generally.

Re: [WW] -The Pirates of the Flying Octopi -Day 2 DEADLINE 2
Review of day 1 thoughts / retro-diary:
RMC - refused my "walking / being thrown through a wall contest!"; in the middle of the Scoop's 'pokes the innocent' discussion, randomly votes for Lassr
tru1cy - basic Remus day 1 vote, jumped on by Lagom for "over-explaining." bb2112 agrees and votes for tru1cy as well. Holman votes for tru1cy because "other people seem suspicious" so he'll "pile on."; then votes for bb2112 for "throwing his vote around" (and also casting aspersions on Holman for similar activity); then votes for pr0ner for being (admittedly very) silent; pr0ner's response, limited entirely to one sentence saying that tru1cy doesn't have a monopoly on being quiet, evidently prompts tru1cy to then shift his vote to Holman;
Scoop - "poke the innocents" day 1 move - responses include theo (calls it a slip, votes for him, ponders Scoop as the 'berserker wolf'), Lagom (votes for theo based on his response to the "non-slip slip"), Remus (mocks aggressive responses to Scoop's use of Remus' "famous slip"), Lassr (not bothered by quote, becomes suspicious of theo's response); collates responses to his faux faux pas and to the self-vote; votes for RMC because his "amused" reaction "stinks of knowledge";
Self-vote move - most responses are 'calm down' (in my case genuine at least, as I took the self-vote at face value); RMC points out that the self-vote may be a ploy; Lassr questions why RMC would ruin Scoop's "trap"; Remus questions why a wolf would post in thread to warn other wolves; following discussion has already been hashed out;
Holman - approximately 80% of his posts are essentially "I'm a simple cave man. I don't understand your 'were-wolf' or your 'seer'..."
Vorret - after Remus mocks aggressive responses to Scoop's 'poke the innocents' quote, Vorret finds it strange that Remus is "defending" Scoop on day 1, pondering whether Remus is defending a fellow wolf (somewhat outlandish theory IMO); that in turn draws an (appropriately) skeptical response from Lagom; then votes for Holman for his cautious skittishness;
Mr. Bubbles - after I throw a random day 1 vote on Qantaga, Lassr does as well, then Mr. Bubbles, who says only "I'm going to throw myself onto the Qantaga train for now."
Qantaga - sensible day 1 analysis; votes for theo
Theohall train - following Scoop's day 1 drama, Qantaga votes for theo; Remus really winds up kicking the train off in earnest because theohall veers out of character by actually switching his vote (to RMC after Scoop votes for him) rather than fixating on a target; Lagom joins; pr0ner casts suspicion on theo (but no vote initially); RMC then votes for theo with weak rationale (triggercut principle; "willing to switch"); theo guesses RMC, RW, and bb as the wolves; Holman jumps on with gibberish pirate language; Vorret casts vote #7 with a post consisting solely of saying "No hard feelings..."; Scoop warns people to hold up so theo can dump; bb casts vote #8 (drawing castigation from Qantaga.
Newcastle - totally unhelpful. Didn't cast a vote for anyone or make any evident attempt to identify or root out wolves.

Busy at work this week, so I won't get in-depth on anything before deadline. I'm following along, and might change my vote if needed. I'm still ok with my Remus vote. I could conceivably change it to tru1cy, but I don't want to vote for RMC. I see the arguments, but I'm not quite "there" yet.

Bigger thoughts - dislike pr0ner's overall low level of silence, and his initial vote-less suspicion of theo. But as I write out the suspicion it feels a little thin. Dislike Holman's volume of posts compared with actual engagement in wolf-hunting. Dislike Mr. Bubbles' almost total silence and lack of rationale when he votes. Unsure about tru1cy's slutty day 1 vote.El Guapo wrote:Review of day 1 thoughts / retro-diary:
RMC - refused my "walking / being thrown through a wall contest!"; in the middle of the Scoop's 'pokes the innocent' discussion, randomly votes for Lassr
tru1cy - basic Remus day 1 vote, jumped on by Lagom for "over-explaining." bb2112 agrees and votes for tru1cy as well. Holman votes for tru1cy because "other people seem suspicious" so he'll "pile on."; then votes for bb2112 for "throwing his vote around" (and also casting aspersions on Holman for similar activity); then votes for pr0ner for being (admittedly very) silent; pr0ner's response, limited entirely to one sentence saying that tru1cy doesn't have a monopoly on being quiet, evidently prompts tru1cy to then shift his vote to Holman;
Scoop - "poke the innocents" day 1 move - responses include theo (calls it a slip, votes for him, ponders Scoop as the 'berserker wolf'), Lagom (votes for theo based on his response to the "non-slip slip"), Remus (mocks aggressive responses to Scoop's use of Remus' "famous slip"), Lassr (not bothered by quote, becomes suspicious of theo's response); collates responses to his faux faux pas and to the self-vote; votes for RMC because his "amused" reaction "stinks of knowledge";
Self-vote move - most responses are 'calm down' (in my case genuine at least, as I took the self-vote at face value); RMC points out that the self-vote may be a ploy; Lassr questions why RMC would ruin Scoop's "trap"; Remus questions why a wolf would post in thread to warn other wolves; following discussion has already been hashed out;
Holman - approximately 80% of his posts are essentially "I'm a simple cave man. I don't understand your 'were-wolf' or your 'seer'..."
Vorret - after Remus mocks aggressive responses to Scoop's 'poke the innocents' quote, Vorret finds it strange that Remus is "defending" Scoop on day 1, pondering whether Remus is defending a fellow wolf (somewhat outlandish theory IMO); that in turn draws an (appropriately) skeptical response from Lagom; then votes for Holman for his cautious skittishness;
Didn't cast a vote for anyone or make any evident attempt to identify or root out wolves.
hmmmm. Going with
Mr Bubbles
for now (desire to hear more from him is the current tie-breaker). Holman's a close second. Retro-thread review continues tomorrow.

I have to agree with you, when I re-read the whole thread, the one person who simply comes in, vote, and leave is Mr Bubbles.
Very, very silent.

"Arrrr," I say.El Guapo wrote: Holman - approximately 80% of his posts are essentially "I'm a simple cave man. I don't understand your 'were-wolf' or your 'seer'..."
"Simple cave man" is it. I managed to get through my one earlier game without really understanding that villagers can't protect themselves from wolves at all, and thus they have no stake in "playing to stay alive." I slowly begin to get it now, but apprehension comes to me dimly and late. The game starts to look different you see that it makes no sense to play defensively.
I'm not suspicious of people who've pushed against me, since I don't think wolves would see me as a worthwhile lynch. My vote is on RMC right now, but I'll switch to a more persuasive target if I have to do it before the deadline.
In my head I'm back where I started: suspicious of people who haven't posted much, or who have only posted when others call them on not posting much.
Much prefer my Nazis Nuremberged.

What an odd thing to say so close to the posts where Scoop basically recants his own suspicions of RMC. Since Scoop is the one who was putting forth the arguments to lynch RMC and has now withdrawn his vote just above this it looks as though this post is self contradictory.Lagom Lite wrote:Busy at work this week, so I won't get in-depth on anything before deadline. I see the arguments, but I'm not quite "there" yet.

Withdraw RMC
This vote is going nowhere.
My options :
Mr.Bubbles : Not doing anything really. can't judge
Holman : He's been on my radar since day 1 (on alot of people's radar I should say) but again it might the the newb in him talking and the noob in my misinterpreting.
With that in mind, his lack of action/involvement seals my vote at this time in the game :
Mr.Bubbles

also, I'd like to add on my reason to vote (since I can't edit! ) his votes have no meaning, just a "meh, I'll put my vote there" which is a bit weird.

Yes, I no longer believe RMC is a wolf which torpedoes my whole theory on him. I also think Holmann is as clues as he says. (Not meant to be a jab, just an observation)
I'm will to test tru1cy just based on his attempt to look super helpful.

"Is as clues as he says"? Does that mean he knows more or he knows nothing?

Re: [WW] -The Pirates of the Flying Octopi -Day 2 DEADLINE 2
My English sucks.
To clarify, I'm buying that he seems to barely understand the rulez much less the nuances of this game. It doesn't seem like a wolf acting dumb to me.
That doesn't mean that if he keep up the whole clues act, I won't vote for him anyway.
