Sorry I didn't join up with you guys last night. I live in terror of keeping the family awake by playing late. My wife has complained before when I was up for work, I can't imagine she would look kindly on doing it for a game.
My slump from earlier this week has turned around a little. It's interesting looking at my rating chart on pubg.me where it drops off 60 points earlier this week then comes back up 100 point to a new all time high. I had a couple good runs last night including a top ten and a couple multi-kill games. I am getting more comfortable with everything including combat.
I started going to the apartments/dorms by the school as kind of my default start now. There's a little bit more action and it's more likely I can take advantage of what others have looted on my behalf.

That's on NA. I have games on the default system as well.

Steam says I'm over 70 hours. Some of that I'm sure is me leaving it open, but ya that's what I tell myself.
My wife is going to kill me soon, but I'm sure I'll dial it down a notch soon. I hate losing so I was obsessed with at least getting okay at the game. Sniping I'm feeling good about now. Close range I'm still a hot mess.

This probably got lost in the shuffle (well, it probably didn't but, you know) so I'll just say it's not the quantity of hours, it's the
quality of hours:
Honestly, this seems more like a fluke now that I've played as much as I have.
And I'm sorry if I broke the page with the big picture but I'm gonna own it.

I just want one damn it one!

I wish I had a stream of the last 2nd place I got. It was a crazy run and I can't believe I didn't pull out the win. The best part is that the final circle was on the military base coast. They was a cliff and a narrow path to the ocean. 3 of us left and I can't see either of them as the one is on the coast and the other is standing in the path waiting for me. I crouch jumped onto the cliff walked over and took him out from above. He must of be shocked and pissed. That was with a silenced M16 so the other person still had no idea where I was. We had an epic 5 minute battle before they got a lucky headshot it. We both must of had like 10 health kits. I wasn't even upset as the round was so much damn fun. 6 kills and 2nd place. I'll take it.

Very nice, Red.

Beats the snot out of my first win, which happened to be with "0 Kills" last night.
Last night I remapped Inventory from "Tab" after I was surprised by someone as I was fiddling - and ended up ALT-Tabbing the game instead of fighting back. Now it's Mouse 5, and I have even started doing the wiggle as I check items. I don't use "F" to pick things up anymore.

This
video of fails is hilarious. It ends on a high note with someone who has to control the game with his mouth getting 4 kills and a chicken dinner. Advised not to watch at work as I had to stifle laughter with feigned coughing to avoid questions.
Older question, though - does riding the parachute early really let you go as far as someone who jumps in a buggy and hauls ass there early on?

I really need to learn how to record my games. It's something I have never done before and I would of loved a recording of that match.

GeForce Experience will do it for you (assuming you are a nvidia kind of guy). I just ahve it set to do highlights, but I am pretty sure it can do the whole game. You will need a LOT of disk space though.

214m is my new record. I think I would need a 15x scope to do much better.

WackyJacky has a video showing staged hits at 900m with an 8x scope. Enemies don't render beyond that range, even with a 15x.

I play very sporadically but really enjoy it. I like the avoid confrontation approach best. That is probably due to not always finding good equipment. I know there is a guide out there but I am enjoying discovering the good spots on my own. Usually I end up in the top 25 but with few kills. Predicting the end circles is my specialty and I find heading there as early as possible is the best way to find a good spot. I got my first 2nd place last night with 6 kills, it was epic. I really should have won it but bad aim at the end with both grenade and AK. Best weapon I have ever had with a silencer, 8x scope and other gadgets. Crept up on two different firefights and took out both side on each

. They still have no idea what happened lol.
Red sent me a message about joining you all last night and about some OO Discord thingie I need to look at. (I'm old, don't do social media not even the MyFacePage thing

). I'll set that up and try and join up later tonight if anyone is playing. Squads seems like it would be a blast.

None of us is a spring chicken
As much as I enjoy the single player game I find the squads even more fun. You can still have dud rounds where you spend literally every remaining minute after the first 4-5 chasing the circle (that sucked), but we had some really great team efforts. Plus it's always fun to laugh when your teammate (me in this case) gets auto shotgunned multiple times in the face because he was watching some
other bad guys and didn't hear the guy sneaking up in his underwear.

Died to the red zone. Which appeared right on top of the last red zone, that had just ended. Damn it.
edit: Nope, same red zone, just with a very long lull in the bombing. That's on me.

Nothing below #60 today. This last one was "fun". Too many people, I change targets mid drop, get in a house, pick up a 1911, load it, uzi to the back. I just got to see my attacker as turned and died. Thing is, he followed me in. I didn't see him anywhere, went in, closed the door and about 10-15 seconds later he came in the same door. I never heard him.

#9. Great first 2 circles then screwed on the next two. 1 kill. Misjudged how much damage the last circle was gonna do, died to the circle with a backpack full of meds.

My highlight last night was when i got pissed that you guys got killed and shot the crap out of those people at 200m. In hindsight I should have scope to 200m to get better headshots.

#11. Nice little shootout at the end. A scope would probably have meant winning it. Hit him twice at range with red dot. Died to an m16 headshot.

I was pretty sure he was down there. I was on the second floor certain I was alone in the building and heard the door open and some steps and then it was closed again and quiet.
This link goes right to the 14 second mark where you can see the end of his rifle appear for a second. I am not sure what is up with the sound in my video captures sometimes it is on and sometimes it isn't.

Killed a guy with a scythe
We landed 10 feet from each other on an apartment roof by the school and I just ran for the nearest cluster of stuff and spammed 'F'
Even with it he still got me to 30% with just his fists.

Got my 7 year old hooked on Battle Royale for Fortenite. Pubg is too bloody at his age. He loves it and this morning after 1 day of play he made it to #8. I can't get past the twenties in either game...

Camping, waiting for multiple circle collapses.
Whee.
edit: #5. Missed a headshot, dude just walked up to me and m416'd me. 4x scope was too much at that point. Shame. Basically tried sniping a guy 25 feet away when full auto would have been better. Even the uzi would have been better.
I really misplayed that last encounter. Oh well, got an earlier kill.
bit of a cat and mouse. Nerves have me a little shaky.

So much win in that reel. Some observations:
- I was in stitches at how many times you can hear you (not your character) say 'Arrgh' right after you died.
- I would say 75% of those you took the first shot. I'm glad to know it's not just me that this happens to.
- I'm not sure but it looks like there might be some reconciling you need to do between where you have the camera and where you have the sights. It's hard to explain but it looked to me like you might be shooting expecting it to go where you were looking rather than where you were aiming. Seems like a disconnect using the 3rd person view.
I wish I had done this because it was great.

These two go together. These deaths were selected because for the most part I was aware of the enemy, often had the drop and them, and *still* failed to execute.
My watch has a heart rate monitor. Up until I updated it last week it would count my time playing the game as exercise because of my elevated heart rate. After the update, I get alerts telling me I have an elevated heart rate and I don't appear to be doing anything and perhaps I should seek medical attention.
Thanks watch.

I think the best was you trying to run over the guy with the Dascia but he was under a truck and you couldn't quite reach him. So you backed up and tried again and then when you were trying to get unstuck from the adjacent wall he just stood up and fired into the driver door.
This was one of the better 'Aargh' ones too.

You have an interesting idea of "better"

but yeah that was... frustrating.
I have come to the realization that every time I fire my weapon I am basically jumping up and down with a big flag asking to be shot. That understanding has started driving my decisions about tactical engagement. I am less likely to take the shot unless I am confident I can get the kill or I am in mortal danger.
