Been in Oracle OLE dll hell all week.

Restoring from backup to see if I can bypass all the Registry f*ckwittery Oracle installs and uninstalls have created... grr. Why can't SQL Server just use ODBC instead of this stupid, buggy OLE driver install from Oracle?

God, I hate oracle databases. We walked away from that years ago and I was so glad we did. I remember spending hours just trying to get the various versions of their installer to even work on Linux. Ugh. I feel your pain, man. :(

Its a really weird feeling to be buzzed up and be hit with the realization that at 53 you've aged out of the world sorta. Least I feel I have. I chat online with girls 25 and 35 but they are too young for my age in life really. If Id had a kid she'd be 35. I think of myself as 25 but Im not when I pass a mirror. I feel 25 a lot. My mechanic and doctor are younger than me now. Weird. Im still me. Im that 15 year old that 17 year old that 25 year old..Im in here in this 53 year old body and its sad. When I was younger I was just living life and couldn't think these thoughts because I just hadn't lived it yet. Now that I have I wish I could go back with this knowledge and do it all again. I want so much in life but its behind me. Out of reach now. Its all just very sad. Im a young guy in here in this older body suit. Its a lot to take in.

At 65 I feel like I have the body I deserve, and I don't make excuses for it. You live in what you made. I didn't let it go completely so it's not a bad body, although the world's female population just laughed at that.

I imagine that's why it's $29 per plate. And so worth it. I'm going to deplete my retirement savings quickly now that I've decided to eat nothing else.

There used to be a Brazilian steakhouse in Evanston, about 5 minutes from me. Every time a few of my like minded friends would visit, we'd go there. It was heaven on earth. Meats of all kinds were available. We called it The Meatening. While eating we would complain about Meat Sweats. The condition after the Meatening was a Meatstroke.

God I miss that place.

Did you have papaya cream for dessert? It helps with the digestion.

My wife would take me to Fogo de Chao in Beverly Hills every year for my birthday. Now that we live in Tennessee we go to Brazeiros in Knoxville once or twice a year.

He's been doing it all along, but somehow Philly Twitter embraced his cause at the start of the Series.

Now that we've lost, he's our winner.

I've eaten a whole rotisserie chicken in a day before. And that's a full sized Costco chicken. Never in one sitting, though. The idea of eating two full chickens in two days does not sound good to me. I tend to get them to make three days worth of meat portions of food, in the form other things, like sandwiches or rice or quesadillas, etc...

I have eaten a whole one a few times (although I couldn't - and wouldn't - now.) To be fair, in the world of 'eating a whole ____', it's not that extreme. It's about 1,300 calories, and he won't be absorbing all of that - about half of the calories are protein, and his body can't absorb that much protein before passing it on through. What it does absorb it can actually use. The biggest issues are going to be the 95% daily saturated fat and 249% daily cholesterol in that one meal alone.

That would actually be dangerous. If he's absorbing half of the protein and all of the fat, he'd be getting (probably - I'm not a nutritionist) around 1000 calories per day. He just needs to make sure that his other meals are very, very low in fat or cholesterol, and high in fiber. Plus he needs to get the rest of his protein (and all of the nutrients not in a chicken) from those other meals. Aside from the cholesterol, you could actually do what he's doing relatively healthily if you carefully controlled everything else you ate.

There is a way to cut the cholesterol way down, but he likely can't do it. If he sucked down a glass of psyllium husk half an hour or so before eating the chicken, it would bond to a lot of that cholesterol. The problem is that psyllium (aka Metamucil) absorbs liquid and swells, likely making his stomach too full to get the chicken down.

And the funny thing is, if he's working out, he'd need to get extra protein as well. If he's lucky, he's getting 70-80 grams from the chicken. That's enough to support a sedentary lifestyle, but not enough to support significant exercise. It's why mega-dosing protein isn't helpful. If you're working out, you need absorbable amounts of protein every couple of hours, not massive doses that you body can't use.

/edit - and to be clear, your body absorbs most of the protein through your gut and into your system. It just can't use that much all at once, and just passes most of the excess back out as waste (especially given the amount of fat he's eating - the protein wouldn't be used as an energy source until the gazillion grams of fat gets used up.)

Re: Random randomness

What makes poop brown?

About 75 percentTrusted Source of your poop is made up of water. The remaining 25 percent is a mixture of:

undigested carbohydrates and fiber
fat
protein
bacteria
mucus
old red blood cells
secretions from your intestines
chemicals from your liver, including bile

Poop’s brown color is mostly due to bile and bilirubin.

Bile, which has a yellowish-green color, plays many roles in your digestion process. Your liver makes about 500 to 600 millilitersTrusted Source (17 to 20 fl. oz.) of bile every day, which is stored in your gallbladder.
