After nearly three seasons of sandals and then outdoor slippers getting into boots is not pleasant. My fat feet seem to have become fatter just like the rest of me.

I ended up getting a prescription for a diuretic to lesson the swelling. BTW swelling can be caused by heart disease or blood sugar.

My refrigerator has always worked better in the cold weather of winter. So I always have to turn it down a bit...or up depending on how you look at it. Its a guess as to the setting thats best. I put that turkey into thaw Wednesday and here it is hard as a rock almost Friday. Its showing a small sign of thaw but not near enough. Another week should be good lol. Actually I shouldn't thaw it that long. Maybe by Sunday it will be ok and still safe.

Ill look up faster yet still safe ways of thawing a 10lb turkey.

Try following this method courtesy of Butterball.com, and you ought to have it safely and fully defrosted within around five hours:

Went to feed the dogs this morning and found I have another visitor. A white cat. I closed the dog door last night but didn't lock it. I figure that's how he did it. Couldn't catch him as he hid underneath my wife's bed. So I closed the door until I can figure out how to catch him. My sinus's are acting up like crazy.

Why catch him? Just offer him some food and water and a bed. He can be your Christmas cat. Bet he would go to a litterbox with no coaching...most cats do.

A cat showing up at Christmas and going under your wife's bed? Id take it as a sign he is mine and Im supposed to have him. Of source Id ask around too to be sure no one wants him back.

Thank you AB! Now that I see that I think I may have done that to a chicken years ago. Ill do that today and put it back in the fridge for tomorrow....or maybe if its thaw id be safer to go ahead and cook it today.

A lot of what people call allergies, is just being unfamiliar with the dander. When I got Pumpkin, I hadn't had a live in pet for about 8 years and I had some reactions. They went away. Similarly, I can get itchy eyes when I go over and see my brother's dog. If I had a dog, it would go away in a short time.

Me: "Because, my little puddin's, if I drank less, I wouldn't be able to hallucinate you talking to me."

I do have allergies and the cat came out and meowed while I was feeding my dogs and then when I went to get him he went under my wife's bed.

People with serious pet allergies are very familiar with dander. It is the dander that causes the allergic reactions, and for many people it doesn't just fade away.

I have heart disease in pretty much all its glorious forms but somehow my blood sugar tests OK twice a year every year. I keep assuming I am pre diabetic but, nope, to date glycemia issues aren't mine. It's the only one I somehow seem to escape, even with sugar in my coffee and my succumbing to M&M and peanutbutter and chocolate wafer temptation far far too often.

I finally watched all the Barney Miller episodes. 170 of them. First time I ever saw the last episode when everybody dies.

Got rid of the cat. When I opened the door he came running out. Then I closed all the rooms in the house until I had him cornered. That's when I shot him.

Speaking of hair care (previous page, I guess), allow me to suggest some potential wisdom:

I've generally had a decent head of hair, but (I'm now 54) five or six years ago I began to notice the encroachment of a widow's peak.

For most of my life I've felt that I had oily hair. Skipping a shower always made me feel gross, so I shampooed every day.

About two years ago, I started looking into hair care and learned that over-shampooing could weaken a man's hair and accelerate scalp loss. It turns out that the best thing is to take a shower every day (rinsing your hair with water and cleaning the rest of your body with soap) but only shampoo every third day. This allows you to neaten your hair without subjecting it to stringent soaps. You can also (and probably should) add conditioner to your hair almost every day (say, six days a week) even when you don't shampoo. This strengthens hair and makes it easier to manage.

Since adopting this routine, I've noticed no further hair loss and feel like my hair is maybe even fuller than it was.

I wish my hair would just go away once and for all. I just buzzed it all off a month ago and it's already an inch long and looks like crap.

My hair is over a foot long. All 114 strands.

PS. No I didn't really shoot the cat. I opened the dog door and chased him out.

Found a jar of peanut butter in my cupboard. It had expired in 1992.

I went through a bunch of my stuff recently and you got me beat by a long shot. I think the oldest stuff I had expired in 2009. Some of it was peanut butter. I don't remember the dates but I think I threw away two jars with use by dates of probably 2018, maybe.

Yeah, but for most people it does. They mistake the initial reaction for being allergic and conclude that that animal can't be a pet. That was my point. If I was talking about peanut butter pie, I assume that I would not have to warn the genuinely allergic people not to eat it

Surprised at how much my credit hasn't been hit by retirement. No income for almost a year and to date my credit has only fallen to 789. Wondering if I should be buying that new car now, while I still have good credit.

So my electric toothbrush took like a half second to start this morning. For that half second I actually panicked for how I'd brush my teeth if toothbrush didn't start.

Your income doesn't directly effect your credit score. It only makes it harder to pay off your bills which obviously does effect your credit.

Exactly...keep spending money and paying your bills on time, and your credit should stay good. They don't care where you get your money, only that you spend it and keep your debts in good standing.
