I've probably got at least a hundred hours in it and never finished. I keep making it to one point where the map stops being linear and you have to kind of spiral in to a mystic tomb - and it's right about there that I think "I want to try a different build"Skinypupy wrote: Tue Feb 09, 2021 10:26 amYour post made me fire up Grim Dawn again. It's a game that I enjoyed, but never actually got around to finishing when it came out.
I've got a dozen or more characters all at or near that point. It's silly. I don't know why I bounce off it right there, but I do. Every time. My highest level character is a Level 55 Cabalist that can easily run the Cauldron up to wave 75 without flinching, but has never wandered beyond that point.
Of the ARPG's I've played, Grim Dawn is probably my favorite.
- Diablo was a lot of fun for its time and set a high bar.
- Diablo II was more of the same and even better.
- Diablo III went off the rails with the auction house and I never went back.
- Titan Quest is/was just awesome, but is a very "clean" world and game. It's a fun romp through mythology.
- Path of Exile is/was fun, but the skill tree requires a PhD to avoid gimping yourself.
- Grim Dawn is a great mix of gritty, dirty world and hectic combat with lots of skill options.
