I did wash my small amount of clothes last time but i couldn't wring them very well and the ywere still pretty waterlogged. Its hard to dry them and they can sour while trying. I have no outdoor line..just a small 3 or 4 item line on my back porch and assorted chairs, vacuums, and tables to hang them from in my kitchen and den.

I busted both my hands and wrists in a fall off a farm gate back in 2019 right after my wife died. I cant grip good and they hurt..wringing is impossible and hurts like heck.
I'd consider putting up a longer line in your yard. That way you let the sun do the work, and sun-dried clothes are both cleaner and feel fresher than air-dryer clothes.

A line would be nice. Used to have one. But my in laws sold that piece of land that was open with the line to the neighbors. My back is a mess of fallen trees and limbs and huge kudzu problem now. That leaves me on the other side or front which is all neighbor and street viewable so dont want to do that really.
My home and life are a mess I cant really do much with these days. Maybe next year I can sort both out. If I can find someone well priced that will clean and shove all my backyard crap up into my back field area Id have room and such there. Had a large limb fall years ago and bust my picnic table I could never move and it grew up into a mess. the kudzu took over and its a huge mess now. Im only very slightly able to keep the kudzu out of my huge good trees. It killed 4 other trees and a big beautiful cedar tree. The 3 normal trees all fell into my back yard and the ceder simply broke all branches to the ground. Ill take some pics maybe next week when its not raining.

We have two drying racks and a bunch of things hung over the shower door frame. Pants do well put on a hanger and hung from the window molding.

(I'd blame autocorrect but really it was a red underline and and acceptance of the suggestion without even looking at it)

My drying solution is ultra basic. Hang hangers from shower rod, attach clothing to hangers with clothespins, point fan at clothing to generate air flow. No muss, no fuss, no must.

Well I looked at the rent to own places. They all have the prices of thieves and robbers. All wanted $17 - $22 a week and wit ha finak cost after 100+ weeks or around $1,200 to $1,600 for a damn $250 new washing machine. Hell no.

Now trying to find repairman costs. So far all Ive found is some site saying their rates are like $50 - $150 an hour plus parts.

Also see that washers and dryers typically last only 13 to 15 years. So Im not sure buying one of Marketplace is even a good idea now. I guess we then me were lucky to get around the 20 years or so we got.

Now Im not sure HOW to get a washer. Forget a dryer for now. Guess I can call local repair places tomorrow and check. If only I could get that damn coupler off Id fix it myself for like $20. I have no idea why its stuck!

I'm going to double down on the hanging-line solution.

It's free. It's easy. It's healthy. It takes only slightly more time than loading a dryer, and when you collect the clothes they are basically already folded.

combine that with handwashing (which is not that hard, only time-consuming) and the washing machine purchase can also be forestalled in favor of more important things

Are there any charities in your area that might be able to hook you up with used/refurbished appliances? A quick google shows me that there are plenty of charities here that solicit appliance donations, so I assume that there are also charities that provide them to people in need.

As some of you may know I believe in re-incarnation. So, if I'm right one of these days I may turn up as one of your grandchildren or great grandchilden. Be wary if they're fat and lazy.

Maybe you can find somebody to clean up your yard in exchange for letting them make a video of it.

Transportation, grass cutting(munching), milk, & cheese. If he could get a MacGyver to combine the goat cart with one of these he'd have everything.

Goats eat kudzu too!
Pigs and goats have been known to eradicate kudzu from entire fields. In addition, kudzu provides around 15- 18% crude protein (CP) and is quite palatable to livestock.

I spoke to the first local place that sells and repairs washers. They charge a $60 service call then any parts and what the work requires. They dont charge by the hour.

LOL.

Ive been disappointed with laundromats for years. Always having to shove handfuls of quarters in the machines. Well I went to a fancier one me and my wife used to go to. I went because they have all new equipment and its air conditioned. And turns out cheaper. BUT they take cards now..YAY!

EDIT: Washers.....found a scratched and dent one at a appliance place we used before for $250. Still outta league but getting closer. Stuff like this pisses me off because without the mortgage I could simply go get it now. Soon.

We have house guests visiting: my wife's cousin, his wife, and their kids (14 and 11).

The youngest is a very talented pianist, and we have a decent-quality keyboard. Right now I'm listening to him segue from Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" to the Stones' "Paint It Black."

heres that pic of my back yard.

From left to right thats the cedar covered in kudzu, on the ground under the kudzu is the fallen limb which is as big around as me, then you see the kudzu growing in the trees and a small path I keep mowed around behind the garage..its about as wide as 2 lawnmowers. What you dont see here are the fellen trees. Id need to be on the other side to see all that crap.

See that chair in the bottom right? Thats 3 feet from my back door. I used to mow the grass where all that kudzu is.

Too bad you don't know anyone with some goats.
In the United States, the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee undertook a trial program in 2010 using goats and llamas to graze on the plant. Similar efforts to reduce widespread nuisance kudzu growth have also been undertaken in the cities of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Tallahassee, Florida.

So work is stressing me out so much the last few months that i was breaking out in hives. I decided to got to a dermatologist nearby to get something for it. The doctor (an elderly, stately looking man) sits me down, examines the hives on my hands, then starts writing notes. I asked him, "You ever see anything like this before?" and he immediately replies, "Not in humans." I sit for a second before I realize he's joking and then I started laughing. He never once broke a smile though. i think I found my permanent dermatologist.

There was a time, a golden age if you will, when quiet quitting was elevated to a true art form.

Italian teacher sacked for 20 years of absence vows to defend herself
A teacher in Italy who was sacked for 20 years of absence in 24 years at schools near Venice has vowed to tell her side of the story.

Cinzia Paolina De Lio was dismissed in 2017 after she reappeared for four months and triggered complaints.

Italy's highest court confirmed the dismissal after a legal battle, saying her absences showed a "permanent and absolute ineptitude".

Ms De Lio has condemned the ruling and vowed to "reconstruct the truth".

The secondary school teacher, who specialises in history and philosophy, said she had documents to prove her story but told Repubblica newspaper: "Sorry, but right now I'm at the beach."

"I will reconstruct the truth of the facts of this absolutely unique and surreal story", she said adding, "I don't answer questions from journalists thrown around that wouldn't do justice to the truth of my story."

Ms De Lio was reinstated in 2018 after a ruling by a judge in Venice but the education ministry appealed against the decision and it was reversed by the Supreme Court of Cassation last week.

The ministry argued that the teacher had kept out of the classroom for 20 out of her 24 years of service. For the first 10 years she was completely absent, and her absences in the other 14 years were attributed to sickness, personal or family reasons.
