I've posted links to Your Mother's videos (my college rock band) here before so I won't do that again now. In order to send the links to some other friends, I looked at the YouTube page of my friend who uploaded three songs 17 years ago. In 17 years, "Dog'n'Suds" has 847 views, "Doggie Daddy" has 340, and "Celebrity Sex Change" got 4,600! It's all about the keywords.Daehawk wrote: Tue Jul 11, 2023 9:02 pm Checking streams and having a smooth fun great buzz going on I see one girl with 2000+ viewers live then see another girl just like her, almost same content, same great looks....everything, and she has maybe 30 viewers. Re: Random randomness
Today was supposed to be my go to town and get some food day. Restock day. I have a little money free in the bank. My EBT card refilled it's measly but welcomed and thankful to have it $143.
But I got up late. I couldn't wake up. I kept hitting snooze. I could not drag myself out of bed. Until 12:30. By then it was too hot and humid for me to go to town in a hot car with no AC . That just blows the same hot air thats outside onto me inside. The car where the passenger window does work at all and the drivers side is iffy. Too hot.
So Im out of everything. Today I had one cola. I made some tea. I had enough sugar for one glass. The jug of tea sits cold in the fridge because I cant force un-sweet cold tea down my neck. I have cold water. But just water. I don't have any fruit or fruit juice to change the flavor of water. No sugar again either. Water gives me heartburn...bad. Drinking plain water after my body conforming itself to soft drinks makes acid reflux bad into my esophagus. Downing antacid after antacid doesn't fix it. Only a big spoon of mustard helps. And none of it is fun, tasteful, or without pain.
I almost used GrubHub's $15 off $25 offer. But after fees and tax and tips that $15s off left me with only a $2 in savings and left me with having to pay $25+ for some food delivery that I should be able to get with that deal for about $10....no thanks.
Tomorrow. Maybe I can get up tomorrow.

Life expectancy in Tennessee is one of the worst in the US, report finds
wate.com wrote:(WKRN/NEXSTAR) – A report released Thursday, by the National Center for Health Statistics, found life expectancy in the U.S. can vary wildly based on which state you were born in. According to the data, Hawaii residents had the highest life expectancy at birth at 80.9 years. On the other end of the spectrum, Mississippi had the lowest at 74.4 years.
So where did Tennessee land on the list?
The Volunteer State landed near the bottom of the list. Tennessee ranks 47th overall, with an average life expectancy of 75.6. For men in the state, the average life expectancy is 72.8 (48th overall) and for women, it’s 78.5 (45th overall), according to the CDC data.

I walk the middle path. I put a scant teaspoon of sugar in a spiced chai latte, just enough to accentuate the flavors of the spices, but aside from that I can't remember the last time I felt the need to sugar up anything else.

These days I drink only water, coffee, and milk. Maybe I'll have a glass of fruit juice every few weeks.
But a week ago I had a Coke for the first time in at least a couple of years. I liked the taste (who doesn't?), but when I was finished my mouth felt really unpleasant.

When I make tomato sauces I'll add a teaspoon of sugar to cut the acidity. I'll also put a fraction of a packet in a glass of unsweetened iced tea, which I drink maybe once every other week during the summer. A small bag of sugar lasts me for years.

I don't really avoid things with sugar in them (e.g. I do have a small glass of OJ in the morning to wash down my daily meds), I just don't add sugar to much of anything.

FWIW, natural sugars in fruit are in a different class from corn syrup/white sugar (assuming you're talking about actual orange juice and not some OJ-inspired product like Sunny Delight.) You still have to be aware of them, particularly if you have blood sugar issues, but they're absorbed and processed differently than refined sugars.Max Peck wrote: Wed Jul 12, 2023 10:42 am I don't really avoid things with sugar in them (e.g. I do have a small glass of OJ in the morning to wash down my daily meds), I just don't add sugar to much of anything.

Water brash is related to saliva, though, not actual water. The more likely issue is the water itself might have contaminants. I know that high levels of iron in water can make heartburn worse.
Clean water shouldn't make heartburn worse (unless you drink a ton just before bed and lay the wrong way.)

If you mean they are absorbed differently because sugars from fruits come with fiber when you eat them, then I can agree with that. But there are studies that show sugar is sugar no matter the source (metabolically speaking).Blackhawk wrote: Wed Jul 12, 2023 10:58 amFWIW, natural sugars in fruit are in a different class from corn syrup/white sugar (assuming you're talking about actual orange juice and not some OJ-inspired product like Sunny Delight.) Yeah, I splurge on not-from-concentrate orange juice with no added anything and ration it to a single quarter cup serving every morning as a treat to help make the medicine go down. I don't kid myself that it's particularly healthy, but it falls well within the everything-in-moderation boundary and isn't particularly unhealthy either.Blackhawk wrote: Wed Jul 12, 2023 10:58 amFWIW, natural sugars in fruit are in a different class from corn syrup/white sugar (assuming you're talking about actual orange juice and not some OJ-inspired product like Sunny Delight.) Re: Random randomness
Reagan Library
1985, under FCC Chairman, Mark S. Fowler, a communications attorney who had served on Ronald Reagan's presidential campaign staff in 1976 and 1980, the FCC released a report stating that the [fairness] doctrine hurt the public interest and violated free speech rights guaranteed by the First Amendment.
...
In 1987, the FCC panel, under new chairman Dennis Patrick, repealed the Fairness Doctrine altogether with a 4-0 vote
The FCC vote was opposed by members of Congress who said the FCC had tried to "flout the will of Congress" and the decision was "wrongheaded, misguided and illogical." The decision drew political fire and tangling, where cooperation with Congress was at issue. In June 1987, Congress attempted to preempt the FCC decision and codify the Fairness Doctrine, (Fairness in Broadcasting Act of 1987 S. 742).
The bill passed but the legislation was vetoed by President Ronald Reagan. Congress was unable to muster enough votes to overturn the President’s veto.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

You know what I want more than anything in the world right now? One single night of uninterrupted sleep.
No kids coming in telling me their "blankets are too crooked" at 12:30am. No cats tromping on my chest at 2:13am. No dog scratching at the door to go poop at 4:05am. No Darth Vader wheezing sounds when my wife's CPAP slips sideways at 5am. No randomly waking up 15 minutes before my alarm goes off at 6:15. I just want sleep.
There's some variation of this every single night now. If I get more than a couple hours of sleep at a stretch, I consider myself incredibly lucky.
I'm just so damn tired...

It's much worse this time of year when the days are long. In the winter when it's dark later into the morning the cats sometimes sleep through my initial stirrings.
