My daughter and I are huge fans of even the weirdest of em.
Probably equally just looking forward to rekindling those moment watching these movies together.
It was good. A crazy ride, but not a surprise if you've seen any other Ghibli movie. Lots of discussion with the kids after about what things meant.

The world really hates me!
I suspect Florida will be one of the last states where landlines are a thing. We still have ours and know folks who are keeping theirs.
Ah, the irony. I went to make a landline phone call this morning and found the line dead. After some internal troubleshooting in the house where I verified that it wasn't on our end I went to the crappy AT&T website where after some hunting around I found that there is a major outage in my area which has been going on for heaven knows how long. And when do they think it will be fixed? 2pm on the 13th, two days from now.

Actually it's more of a blessing, the damn Medicare telemarkets and other scammers have been bothering us for weeks. Nice to not have the phone ring.

Anyone think its time to bring the El Camino back? The cartruck. A new smaller updated one with a 2 seat sport cab and small pickup bed for utility would be nice to have in a cheap market. Im not sure who would do good at producing one but lets say its a 4 cylinder under $29,000. Ford maybe.

The old ones were kinda cool and based on the Chevelle. My step brother had one. Dont need that big a body or that much power. Im thinking sporty yet utility in mind. Id like it to haul groceries or garbage to the dump or to scoot down the highway to shop or something.

Think this.....

This is a pic of my Twitch recap for the year. Those 3 awards at the bottom right earned me a unique chat badge. I love it.

And NO Marysmilkmonsters is not what you dirty minds are thinking....its actually a sweet 23 year old girl who raises goats for products like goat milk soaps and such. Whats neat is she lives in Astoria where the Goonies was filmed. She does some bike rides and town excursions showing those places. Perverts....The more racy stuff is my #1 viewed channel of Beth's lol. She is my true online friend. Only have two true online close friends that I keep up chat with regularly and she is one. Of course OO friends is my posting place of friends . Been here 20 years. :) And again no adult rated stuff other than racy chat and humor..though she can swing a mean hula hoop while wearing cool clothing :P

So now you know something else about me :) I also mod some channels and stuff.

Mrs. Skinypupy went to a "white elephant" party at her work last night and someone gave her...a goldfish. When she told the person she didn't want the fish, they said "oh, I'll just take it in the bathroom and flush it then". Mrs. Skinypupy felt awful about that and agreed to bring it home. So we were at Petsmart 5 minutes before they closed buying fish food, a small tank for it to live in, gravel for said tank, etc. Marcus the goldfish did survive his first night at our house, so we'll see how things go from here.

What kind of asshole gives a living animal to someone else as a white elephant gift?

i don't do this often, but fixed that for you

i would have to seriously - _seriously_ - restrain myself from cold-cocking that sociopath waste of human skin upon hearing that, despite the resulting criminal lawsuit and job dismissal that would inevitably entail. i am not such a peaceful individual, i guess! ok, i would have for sure gotten into this person's face and make them feel bad enough about it they would never dare try _that_ again ... ... probably lucky your wife ended up with the fish, might have saved its life.

i can tell you if you need to change the water (after cleaning the aquarium), take ALL the precautions stated to make sure it's habitable for the fish afterwards. had a roommate years ago who lost her goldie due to that. you can train them for feeding time, and they will follow your finger around on the other side of the tank.

I don't think I've ever heard the term semi-natural before in my life.

Did you just make that up?

I mean, isn't everything semi-natural?

I had an entire college course dedicated to exploring the idea of nature. I think we spent a few weeks pondering what is natural.

Yeah, I've certainly subscribed to the idea that something is either natural or supernatural

But with food labels, it's like 'grace'... You either have grace or you do not.

Alternately, there is no such thing as unnatural, as everything on the planet was either already there, or was made by natural creatures using what was already there. Some of the creatures are just more talented at using those resources than others. If pop made of artificial flavors, artificial dyes, high fructose corn syrup, and stored in a plastic bottle are unnatural, then so is a beehive.

(I don't really espouse this, as it's mostly just picking nits and playing with semantics - it's just a fun thought to play around with from time to time.)

Literally two weeks of my life and a 30 page paper were about this.

EDIT: If you'd like to know more, I'd suggest this from your local library.
"Bill McKibben's subject is the end of nature itself, which he claims humans have brought about. The subject is important, the notion is arresting, and Mr. McKibben argues convincingly."
EDIT #2: Back on topic for Daehawk:
Doritos is betting on a new way to get people addicted to their tortilla chips: booze.

The PepsiCo-owned brand is releasing a new spirit based off of Doritos’ nacho cheese flavor that “tastes just like the real thing,” according to a press release. The chip maker partnered with Empirical, a Danish company known for making custom spirits with creative flavors.

Yeah, I've been doing lots of reading today on the care and feeding of goldfish (not that I really had the time to do that).

Neither Mrs. Skinypupy or I have never had a fish before, so this is all completely new to us. Would have nice if it had been a decision I could have made and been prepared for, instead of having it forced on us by this asshole. The more I think about it today, the more bugged I get.

Good news is that the kids are all fascinated by Marcus. Now I just need to figure out how to ensure the cats aren't as well.
