Just the anticipation of it is pushing stocks back up.

eh, it depends. Trump does give a few prepared, pre-written speeches meant to give a presidential vibe, mixed in with all the improv[] bigotry. I'm guessing this will actually be more of a standard GOP nominee policy speech, especially what with the professional campaign guy (Manafort) firmly in charge now.

That won't stop him from spewing his bile again in a couple days, of course.

So now the Trump campaign appears to be spamming members of foreign governments with fund-raising email. It's not just a few random people; they're systematically filling the inboxes of, for instance, every member of the UK Parliament. The UK, Iceland, Australia, Denmark, Canada are confirmed targets so far.

It's a weirdly incompetent move: how do screw up your campaign email list to include the Icelandic Althingi?

Also, knowingly soliciting donations from non-U.S. citizens is illegal.

Also also, in what universe would the campaign believe Trump is anything but repellent to educated foreigners?

My Dear Mr. David Cameron:

Hello my good friend. Please be allowing me to introduce myself. I am known in my country as the Donald Trump, and you may have heard of me by that name or perhaps just The Donald. Recently it has come to my attention that the Mr. Ted Cruz who recently passed away was a distant relation of yours.

In going through some papers left behind as part of the Mr. Ted Cruz estate, we discovered that he bequeathed to you the large sum of $500,000 (372, 586 of your Pounds). As you I'm aure are aware, tranfer of Funds of such a Large Quantity is a complicated procedure, with many misundersanding rules.

We would like to Transfer these funds into your Bank account. Would you please be so kind as to Repond in like with the Account Number and Address? There is, of course, a slmall Transfer Fee of $50,000, which, due to International Law and Laws of the Unted States, can only be paid by way of a deposit into the Trump for Persident Campaign.

Please be so kind as to send a Money Order for $50000 along with your banking Information so that we may tranfer these funds forthwith.

Thanking you, My good friend

It's definitely illegal if they are knowingly sending those out... knowingly being the key word.

It's so over the line in fact I'd have to guess they just got so desperate for fund raising they bought a bunch of lists that included foreign MPs and didn't do anything to scrub the lists before spamming them, but then if that were the case it's hard to believe they would so thoroughly be spamming all the MPs from every major (and minor) European power.

Depends on whether you think foreigners buying the US government is more or less serious than the Secretary of State's itinerary for her week in Russia falling into "enemy" hands.

Sorry but the SecState itinerary isn't TS/SI, discussion of and photos of NK nuclear facilities is in the particular case.

So you really think all those foreign donors giving to the Clinton Foundation were buying the government? Yea you are probably right, since they did in fact get favorable decisions from their donations.

Well, if you're going to break one fundraising rule, you might as well break them all. Might want to add in that they should donate now, while the pound is still worth more than the dollar, to get more bang for the, err, shilling.

More about our proposed Grifter-in-Chief.
Unbeknownst to customers at the time, though, even the printed materials handed out to seminar attendees were based on a lie. The Trump Institute copyrighted its publication, each page emblazoned with "Billionaire's Road Map to Success," and it distributed the materials to those who attended the seminars.

Yet much of the handbook's contents were lifted without attribution from an obscure how-to guide published by Success magazine in 1995 called "Real Estate Mastery System."

At least 20 pages of the Trump Institute book were copied entirely or in large part from "Real Estate Mastery System." Even some of its hypothetical scenarios — "Seller A is asking $80,000 for a single-payer residence" — were repeated verbatim.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_ ... ouse_watch
The tables have turned in this week’s White House Watch. After trailing Hillary Clinton by five points for the prior two weeks, Donald Trump has now taken a four-point lead.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey of Likely U.S. Voters finds Trump with 43% of the vote, while Clinton earns 39%. Twelve percent (12%) still like another candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.

Last week at this time, it was Clinton 44%, Trump 39%. This is Trump’s highest level of support in Rasmussen Reports’ matchups with Clinton since last October. His support has been hovering around the 40% mark since April, but it remains to be seen whether he’s just having a good week or this actually represents a real move forward among voters.

Trump now earns 75% support among his fellow Republicans and picks up 14% of the Democratic vote. Seventy-six percent (76%) of Democrats like Clinton, as do 10% of GOP voters. Both candidates face a sizable number of potential defections because of unhappiness with them in their own parties.
Finally a poll that matters.

Trump on SCOTUS's Texas abortion decision:

Trump's appointment would be so good, he'd get three votes, so it would've been 6-5.
