Are you secretly Trump?
Nope, just fastidious about clean hands. Fortunately cutlery exists for just such a reason! I'm pretty sure I've done it since I was a wee lad in the single digits and just found it really cooled faster if it was cut up meaning I got to eat faster and more than my brothers.
I've always found it necessary to use tableware for deep dish, but now that I have a full lower denture, the texture of biting into a hand-held slice is rather unpleasant and sometimes painful. It's just works better using a knife and fork, even with thin crust frozen pizzas.

Nonsense. The tensile strength of the Pittsburgh-Philadelphia axis is the only thing that prevents Pennsylvania from deflating into West Virginia.

When we lost our beloved Browns back in the 90s due to the nefarious machinations of the evil Art Modell, it was the Steelers we supported until we got our team back. They even had huge signing celebrations where folks would pledge their support for them until we were made whole again.

Your state still had the Bungles...your state still has one more team than the great state of Chicago and that doesn't even include your adoption of the Pittsburgh Fields'.

I know a made-up reason when I see one. There isn't anyone who's mouth can handle hotter pizza than their hands.

It's all about not touching the food for you. Admit it. Temperature has nothing to do with it.

After a long day of moving and unpacking, last night we reacquainted ourselves with Dominoes, it being the closest and easiest takeout we could get. It was…adequate, comparable to a better-than-average frozen pizza. The nicest thing I can say is that it's cheaper than food -- a 14" pizza with three toppings was $15, including tip. I think of it as emergency backup pizza and hope to avoid such emergencies in the future.

In happier pizza news, my new grocery store carries frozen pizzas from the Cape Cod Cafe. I’ve written before about our hyperlocal South Shore Bar Pizza style and how I learned to make it at home; Cape Cod Cafe (which isn't actually on the Cape, btw) invented it and is now exporting it beyond the South Shore. I haven’t tried it yet but I expect it to outshine Dominoes. If it meets expectations there will always be one in my freezer.

First thing to do after a move is figure out the best restaurants in the area!

We had a head start on that, having vacationed here for decades, but there are plenty more new places that tourists never get to. One of my favorite pubs is a scant 10 miles up the road, and we’re going there tonight. We're still too busy and tired to explore the more hidden gems.

I moved to Lincoln Square/Budlong Woods (north of the downtown). There are, and I kid you not, 3 Kyrgyz, 2 Serbian, 4 Mexican, 2 Ecuadorian, 1 Guatemalan, 2 Columbian, 2 Thai, 3 Middle Eastern and a smattering of others within a 30 minute walk from my apartment. This place is a foodie paradise.

I clocked it at 4 miles, or 6 minutes, away. Five minutes if the only stoplight is green.

I had the Really Big Dog, which is an enormous hot dog served Chicago-style with mustard, onion, and relish (on topic, sort of!). #livingthedream

Also several Vietnamese places a good Greek bakery.

My main office up there there. Jibek Jolu (Kyrgyz) is one of my favorites.

I just don't like Kyrgyz food that much, I guess. I've tried both Jibek Jolu and another less upscale one that's further away. While Jibek was notably better, I still wouldn't repeat it unless I was asked to by a friend. It just seems bland to me. Admittedly, I've only tried about 3 or 4 dishes though (shared with a friend twice). One was a beef cube dish that is supposedly a national favorite, the other were pot stickers and some noodle dish.

What Greek bakery are you talking about? I've found the Colombian one that makes fantastic empinadas, but I haven't found a Greek bakery yet.

The other day I was out for a walk and came across two more places I hadn't previously seen yet. I love this area.

We should meet up for lunch or dinner sometime if your office is nearby...and drinks, of course. Zarathud and Seppe are up this way too.

Okay, on topic question time: What the good goddamn hell is going on with the sudden proliferation of "mike's hot honey pizza" (or just "hot honey pizza" if they don't wanna pay Mike, I guess) now being offered at every pizza place in America? I was trying to order a lou malnati's pie a little while ago and had to manually add toppings because it kept telling me I was getting a mike's hot honey pizza. Then I looked online and realized this is all over the place now.

Never heard of it. But I feel like honey sweetness would add too much to tomato sauce sweetness and throw everything off.

My rule is that if you wouldn't eat it in pasta, you shouldn't put it on pizza.

They sell Mike’s Hot Honey sauce at a local grocery store. I didn’t realize it’s actually a retail sauce you can buy. I thought it was a pizza place that was marketing and selling it. I think I’ll pick some up this week and try it on a few things. Apparently you can put it on EVERYTHING.
