Actually PMs are require are required. Mistakes happen though. Why bow out due to one mistake that you received an appology for? Its your choice but we will miss you.

If you check in one time every 24 hours you'll never time out. You're being silly but that's your prerogative. I'm sure Meal will find someone else to handle your chips. I've enjoyed playing with you but the fact you missed 1 hand because you didn't receive a PM is certainly blowing things out of perspective. 99% of the time you'll get a PM; this time you didn't. It happens. I screwed up once and missed PM'ing dedewhale, but fortunately he checked in. It's supposed to be fun though and if you aren't having fun at least you're being up front about it and we can get someone who wants to play to take over your stack. (Or you can give them to metjg_marantz wrote:Well it's a rule and yet it's not a rule so who knows, hehe. I simply do not have the time to check this thread every 24 hours to see if it's my time or not to play. I'd rather just bow out, thanks.

I was trying to keep my mouth shut, but this is starting to piss me off. I KNOW I sent you a PM, because I had never sent you one before and remember double checking the spelling of "marantz" a couple of times. Also, after sending the PM I checked my "Sentbox" and "Outbox" to make sure that it was there (why are there two of these??) Unfortunately (and I'm starting to think this might be the real problem), after checking them I realized that they were starting to get cluttered, so I deleted them all (therefore I can't show a screenshot of my Sentbox/Outbox showing the sent PM). I'm wondering now if deleting them might have prevented you from seeing the PM?
Either way, I apologized because I did my best to follow the rules. If, however, doing my best is not good enough for you... then stick it. My best is all I can do.

Outbox = where messages first go when you click Submit
Sentbox = where messages go after the message has been read by the recipient
I believe that if you delete a message from the Outbox, then the person you sent the message to can't read the message since it has been deleted, more or less like a message recall (would be easy enough to test this). If the person doesn't have email notification turned on for PMs, then he won't even know that a message was sent.

This is the case. The message sits in your Outbox, where it may be edited or deleted until it is read. When it's read it moves to the Sent box. In any case, whether or not it was sent isn't a big deal at this point. I've screwed up the PM thing and I'm sure others have and will. Marantz decided to quit because he missed a hand and so be it, we'll move on according to Meal's decision regarding his stack. Another table had someone get mad about something and decide to push all-in every hand. Meal just gave his stack to someone else who wants to play. I wound't worry your little blue head about it anymore.Shinjin wrote:Outbox = where messages first go when you click Submit

Thank you for the information. I had briefly looked and didn't see any documentation describing this PM system, so I just assumed it was more like email (once sent, it's gone and cannot be withdrawn). So, this means that I really did screw up (which I what I had assumed since tjg_marantz would have no reason to lie about it). Nonetheless, it was an accident, and now that I know how it works I shouldn't make that mistake again.Shinjin wrote:Outbox = where messages first go when you click Submit

As for worrying "my little blue head", I'm not trying too, it just seems like my mistake was the cause of this little drama and I don't like causing these kinds of things. But, let's get back to the game. I'm doing pretty good after dedewhale bluffed me most of his chips.

As explained to Grundbegriff here my preference would be for you to find someone else to take over your chipstack. If you are unable to find someone else to do this, then letting you get blinded off is an acceptable secondary solution (and one from which you can, at any moment, change your mind).tjg_marantz wrote:Consider me post and fold until the end.
Thanks.
Let me know if you're actively searching for someone to take over your chips.

I had a little bit of the math incorrect in the main pot and side pot (you can see the changes from earlier posts), but I've corrected that below. It only changed the relative amount in each of the two pots and should not have affected the pot odds or any betting considerations throughout the hand.

Papa, I'd rather not stick anything into anything if that's okay with you.
I don't think I ever blasted you for anything or said anything derogatory towards you and I won't now. I never said you didn't go enough or anythign of the sort, please don't take it that way
Mistakes happen and it's no big deal so just know that at no point did I think you were at fault or a bad smurf or anything like that
Austin's reply was less than nice and surprised me since I've already explained myself but hey, can't please everyone all the time so no biggie there either. Again, this is not about being pissed off, it's about not being able to put in the time to make sure I never miss a hand. The Meal asked for players who would finish the game and I thought I was going to be able to, my home situation has changed and I cannot in good conscience say that I will keep checking in here at a regular interval so I'd rather withdraw. End of story, some people here are making this an entirely too big story than it needs to be. Please just drop the subject.
Meal, I am not currently seeking a replacement simply because my stack is too small for anyone to really want it. I'd suggest splitting the chips among all the remaining players and posting and folding me, your choice really.
Thank you for running the tourney and sorry for not being able to finish it.

I like you marantz, I do.

Thanks, T, that does help. It seemed like you were mad that you missed the hand and that was compelling your actions. Knowing that this is not the reason makes it easier on me because then my mistake is not the cause.tjg_marantz wrote:Papa, I'd rather not stick anything into anything if that's okay with you.I don't think I ever blasted you for anything or said anything derogatory towards you and I won't now. I blame Papa Smurf. As punishment I shall have to take smurfette behind the huts and smurf her. Smurf her twice even.Provided I have that much stamina/recovery time.

OMG remove that picture. Now. Now. Now. And I never said what "smurf" was. Nope, never.
