There are 32 that made a 50+ kick last year. Of those, 11 had a 50% rate or lower.
More importantly, what is the rate of 50 yard kicks in Denver? My guess is that it would be higher than in other stadiums.

Distance is always good there but all the THC in the air plays hell with the accuracy. So higher works.

She held it together well. But right at the end she lost it a little bit. Pretty funny.

Sounds good to me. Hopefully Brady appreciates the gesture...for a few thousand $$$, we can keep him off the field the entire season!

Id say distance is good. How about the kickoff in the first half from Carolina after they got hit with a taunting penalty and had to kick from the 20 yd line. That sucker made it 8 yds deep into the end zone on the fly.

Newton got hammered in that game, I think just about any other QB in the league would have been carted off before the end of that game if they were in his shoes.
On one hand that means he's incredibly tough, on the other hand he isn't going to last long if his team allows that to continue.
Denver's offense surprised me, they aren't bad. Certainly not 'we regret not keeping Oswelier' bad. I was hoping this would be the Raiders' year(no don't laugh) but now...

Wow, Detroits offense was firing on all cylinders, as was Andrew Luck. In usual Detroit fashion they managed to turn a very solid lead into a loss with 37 seconds left in the game as Luck drove the Colts down the field for the late TD and the win. But wait theres more! Stafford drove the team down into FG range in those 37 seconds and Prater sealed the win in Indy! This has confused Lions fans world wide as we are used to the other team doing that to us! Detroits defense was worrisome today, although I will give them the fact that it was against a very good offense and on the road but Detroits offense was a beast today. They actually had a running game! They put up 116 yds on the ground with a nice 4.8 yds per carry and also got 2 rushing tds. Stafford was 31/39 for 349 yds and 3 tds, completing passes to 8 different receivers. Nice job!

Well Luck will be happy to know he might not have won that game but he is helping me win my FF game. Even though he scared me there early. He wasn't playing well at all.
Is it just me or do the Colts always seem to start slow?
Anyway the Saints surprised me in that I didn't think they would be that good. They might actually win 8 games.
The Browns, wow they are horrible.

The Saints look just like they have the last couple of years; they can put up points in bunches but can't stop anyone to save their lives.

Offense looked good against an ailing defense and the secondary totally forgot they were playing in the second half.
Still they won. Stupid penalties occurred but weren't a plague. Bad decisions happened but they didn't cost the game. Stafford went through progressions when he had or made the time and that's beyond unexpected. The running game was meaningful. Ebron held the ball at the cost of his body. Prater's miss didn't and two unnecessary timeouts didn't cost them the game.
I didn't like what I saw all
that much but I wasn't disgusted, except in the 3rd quarter, and a few times in the 4th.

I can't believe that your parents let you stay up so late.
But yes, it was an entertaining game. And more importantly, it looked to be the toughest of the Garrapalo (sp?) era, so the Patriots are in a pretty good position, especially with all the other AFC East teams losing.

Perhaps. The Dolphins defense is reportedly stout (didn't see the game, but I've read up on it), and Cannon was apparently taken from the locker room on a cart. I'm not sure we can lose anymore OL. I wonder if Kline has found a job yet?? Okay - not quite that desperate, but close...

Going into the season I would've been totally satisfied with going 2-2 in the Garappolo era. Having beaten the Cardinals, that seems very doable, and 3-1 seems plausible.

On a side note, could anyone explain to me why the catch by TY Hilton at the end of the first half stood up to replay when it very clearly bounced off the ground? How could they possibly say he had "completed the process"? They make that rule stupider and stupider each season by applying it in a seemingly random manner.

I think they changed the rule about the ground not obviously causing a fumble of some such thing. The gave the same bounce benefit of the doubt to Ebron, so at least it wasn't inconsistent throughout the game. I think I was the same thing happen in the Bears game as well.

This link has two good views of it. He had control of the ball and then he goes to get up and drops it. The point being he already had full control on the ground before losing control making another move. Seemed fair to me.

All it takes is a firewall to block twtter. We let social media through under the premise that people put in long hours. If they get their work done, fine but all it takes is one click on my end and twitter is done on the LAN and the wifi. Not saying that's the case for Remus but I imagine it's not too uncommon.

I didn't see the catch yesterday, but after looking at those two clips I'd say that's a catch. The roll he makes is a 'football move' and he has the ball, awkwardly but he has it. He's rolling away to get up, it's equivalent to turning and taking a step imo.

Getting up? He rolled over and lost the ball. The top view you linked shows that very clearly. Roll over with ball on shoulder and one hand, lose control of ball, ball bounces, regain control of ball. How is that "completing the process"? Seems nonsense to me. I didn't see the Ebron play LM mentioned but it would probably just make that stupid rule more confusing to me. Used to feel I understood it. Now? Not a fucking clue.
