This is as thrilling a mystery as 'why did Melania Trump delete her website?'
That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons bring us some web forums whereupon we can gather

Trump first said he was fine with the baby.
"Don't worry about that baby. I love babies. I love babies. I hear that baby crying, I like it," Trump said. "What a baby, what a beautiful baby. Don't worry, don't worry ... Like, don't worry about it."
But the baby continued to cry as Trump continued to talk. So Trump backtracked.
"Actually, I was only kidding. You can get that baby out of here," Trump said. "That's alright. Don't worry. I think she really believed me that I love having a baby crying while I'm speaking. That's OK. People don't understand."
Obviously those numbers are given in billions of people. So a grand total of 119 billion issued to residents of Middle Eastern countries.Chaz wrote:There are so, so many things wrong with that graph from a sheer formatting perspective.
It also reads to me like we're getting a ton of people coming in from China on those visas, and a grand total of 119 issued to residents of Middle Eastern countries. THE HORROR!
For what it's worth the EB-5 program is notoriously rife with fraud, although not in the way that I suspect Trump supporters think. The basic premise of the program, as I understand it, is that it grants visas to foreigners who agree to invest a certain amount in the United States. Unscrupulous individuals take advantage of the program by saying to foreign citizens essentially "invest $X in my company and I'll help you get a visa", then they pocket the money and do nothing. Foreign victims tend to have limited recourse as a practical matter because they are halfway around the world, don't know the proper law enforcement channels, and have little to no money left.GreenGoo wrote:Geezus H. Is that supposed to be scandalous or something? Foreign investment in the US from countries with treaties with the US, plus job creation.
Only during an election cycle could a man working to improve the US economy be branded a bad person/problem/traitor.
I don't really see it as an insult (especially since the mother didn't get the hint and stayed in the room while the baby kept crying - she probably would be too stupid to get insulted anyway )LordMortis wrote:Dammit. I missed my prediction by that >< much. I thought he would have to kick a baby to take it to the next level after going after the parents of dead soldiers. All he just had to do was brazenly insult what I assume is a baby's mother for her parental stupidity. So close.

I'm saying that some people are screwing foreigners for the benefit of themselves. Otherwise I agree.GreenGoo wrote:So what you're saying is that he's screwing foreigners for the benefit of US businesses.
So...Trump doesn't like the competition?
Honestly I don't know anything about this guy, but that doesn't matter because I'm not holding him up as a paragon of Muslim virtue. He could be a mob boss for all I care.
His son, a Muslim, fought and died for the country that Trump is trying to stop all Muslim immigration to, "for awhile".
That's the entirety of what's important and that can't be smeared into non-existence.
Not only that, but he's given a shout-out to Ryan's primary opponent. Who I understand is an insane lunatic who has no chance, but who has said nice things about Trump, which is all the qualification that Trump needs.malchior wrote:Jeez - Drumpf really is all over the place. How would he endorse Ryan, when he already endorsed Nehlen? Ryan has done much to prevent Trump from winning and Nehlen is in agreement with Trump on immigration. So wouldn't endorsing Ryan be a total dumbass move?malchior wrote:Jeez - Drumpf really is all over the place. Won't endorse Ryan or McCain for *their* elections.Way to unite the team!

Trump has not endorsed Nehlen. He has said nice things about him, though, in response to Nehlen saying nice things about Trump.Rip wrote:How would he endorse Ryan, when he already endorsed Nehlen? Honestly, I hope so, but I doubt I will be so lucky. There don't appear to be independent polls on the race since May, per RCP and google, but those showed Ryan up by a smidge.Rip wrote:Nehlen is going to win.El Guapo wrote:Not only that, but he's given a shout-out to Ryan's primary opponent. Don't get your hopes up. It looks like the only poll favorable to him is from a pro-Trump fake news site.malchior wrote:The ridiculous power struggle that'll ensue if yet another House leader is Tea Partied...will be interesting.

When asked by NBC News how she would vote in November, however, the woman responded: "I'm still supporting Drumpf, but it's not good what he said."
Ah, no, that isn't what the article says:malchior wrote:Or hasn't explicitly been politicized by the GOP for 30+ years. It's bizarro land.
Also that Mom who got booed - still voting for Trump..
When asked by NBC News how she would vote in November, however, the woman responded: "I'm still supporting Drumpf, but it's not good what he said."
The crowd booed Byrne as she asked her question. Pence did attempt to quiet the jeers after she spoke, saying, "folks that's what freedom looks like and what freedom sounds like," to a smattering of applause. Byrne's son, 27, has served since high school — having previously deployed to Iraq in 2009 and 2010. He re-enlisted and is now on his second deployment on a base in the United Arab Emirates. "I felt disrespected," Byrne told NBC News after the event, regarding the crowd's overwhelming reaction to her. "And that was what my question was — disrespect toward the military. The crowd as a group booed me."
If Byrne herself is a Democrat ("Byrne said she is active on the Democrats' state central committee in Carson City."), I don't think she will be voting for Trump. After the event as Byrne left the venue, a woman passed by her and said, "You're brave for doing what you did." When asked by NBC News how she would vote in November, however, the woman responded: "I'm still supporting Trump, but it's not good what he said."
I have watched the video and read the comments from Trump, and I truly cannot comprehend Trump's comments:hepcat wrote:Trump gets a purple heart from a veteran.
Nothing trivializes heroic action in combat like handing a purple heart to a guy who got five deferments and called an American POW a loser for getting caught.
I wonder what his popularity is like with the military? It can't be good, can it? Well, beyond tea party nut jobs, that is.
Is it possible Trump doesn't know what a Purple Heart is awarded for?"You know, something very nice just happened to me," Trump said shortly after taking the stage in Ashburn, Virginia. "A man came up to me and he handed me his Purple Heart. Now I said to him, I said to him, 'Is that like the real one or is that a copy?' And he said, 'That's my real Purple Heart, I have such confidence in you.' And I said, 'Man, that's like, that's like big stuff.'"
He then riffed: "I always wanted to get the Purple Heart. This was much easier."
