I suspect that even on the PC the control for things like vehicles is tuned for controllers rather than KBM.Zarathud wrote: Wed Mar 05, 2025 8:09 pm I started replaying and the cars feel much worse than the last Saints Row with the KB/mouse. The story is still interesting.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V - Finally On The PC
I've played quite a bit of GTA Online with others, some who used controllers, some who used keyboard and mouse. You can usually tell at a glance who has they keyboard.
The on-foot stuff works fine with kb/m, but the driving and flying really are designed for controller. The lack of graduated inputs on kb/m (slightly easing off of the gas, turning only as sharply as you need to, etc.) make it really tough to use.
I always played the foot and shooting portions with kb/m, and just kept my controller on a stand in front of my keyboard. Then I picked it up while I was climbing into a vehicle.

Also, as I recall of the campaign, the early cars are mostly just standard everyday vehicles. When you get more expensive/upgraded vehicles later, they're much more responsive.

Yeah, installed it, fired it up in Story mode (don't care about GTA online), saw I was in North Yankton again. Nope, I'm not up to replaying it yet again

That part is literally just the first 30 minutes of the game. You could breeze through it to get to the actual game.jztemple2 wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 12:51 am Yeah, installed it, fired it up in Story mode (don't care about GTA online), saw I was in North Yankton again. No, I meant that I've played through the game twice, I know what's going to happen the first 30 minutes and then the hours after that. I think I'd be better off going back to GTA4, I don't really remember much about the story there.Scraper wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 9:49 amThat part is literally just the first 30 minutes of the game. Even for a game you know like the back of your hand... sometimes you really do have to re-download the game and re-start it up, re-start playing, to realize you really don't want to.jztemple2 wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 2:16 pmNo, I meant that I've played through the game twice, I know what's going to happen the first 30 minutes and then the hours after that. Very true. It's the sad truth about so many cool games like Assassin's Creed or GTA, it's the "oh wow" moments that made the game so freaking fun the first time just don't feel "oh wow" after that.Unagi wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 4:09 pm Even for a game you know like the back of your hand... sometimes you really do have to re-download the game and re-start it up, re-start playing, to realize you really don't want to.

Yeah I get that. I think the Souls series is the one exception for me. I rarely replay games once I've beaten them, but I've beaten souls 1 2 and 3 more times than I care to admit and I've beaten Elden Ring 3 times. But one and done is my normal and it's what I did with GTA 5 as well.jztemple2 wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 5:07 pmVery true.
