Labyrinth
The sources of the fantasy and characters can be seen in Sarah's bedroom at the beginning of the movie: She has a stuffed animal that looks like Sir Didymus on her dresser; a doll that looks like Ludo on the shelves next to her door; bookends with with goblins similar to Hoggle on her dresser; and figurine of Jareth on the right side of her desk. After you see the Hoggle bookend, a scrapbook shows newspaper clippings of Sarah's actress mother with an actor - David Bowie. Plus, the dress she wears in the ballroom scene adorns the miniature doll in her music box. And a wooden maze game on her dresser foreshadows the Labyrinth itself!

Monty Python and the Holy Grail: The
scene at the French castle, when the taunters are asked to tell their master about Arthur's quest for the grail, and respond
"He's already got one!" (which foreshadows the ending, when Arthur and his pals are faced with the very same French taunters, who evidently
did already have one -- the same one Arthur was looking for all along).

You want gratuitous nudity in a fantasy film? Nobody did it "better" than Ed Wood, with
Orgy of the Dead!
And here is some gratuitous NSFW pandering:

Please keep it to links rather than images. Spoilered or not, they still come over the wire, and risk getting the thread flagged by filters.

I don't consider the nudity in Heavy Metal to be gratuitous. It is core to the aesthetic of the film. Categorizing it as gratuitous strikes me as being puritanical.
Also, humor is subjective.

no, ok, I agree - however the word gratuitous doesn't preclude "core" to me. It's a ton of freely laid on nudity in a more truly fantasy setting. I would give yours and a few other submissions genres to Horror over Fantasy.
So yeah, Heavy Metal's nudity: uncalled for; lacking good reason; unwarranted and core to this fantasy genre movie.
That's what the nudity is in both yours and his submission. Isn't it?

I'm not arguing that Heavy Metal is a bad pick. I was just goofing about the gratuitous (or lack thereof) nature of the nudity.

Meh, it's all a crap shoot anyway. The ones I win are usually not the ones I think I have in the bag. The ones that win often make be go WTF? Really? It's the nature of the game, especially when played with sort-of-random internet forum members. It's not like playing with friends where you likely all live in the same place, have the same socio-economic background, drive the same cars, have kids at the same school, etcetera.
