Do we even want a counter claim? With a mess of Rebels wandering around, isn't there some sense in the true Emperor (if not Scoop) keeping his head down and getting more intel before forcing the face off?

He could be trying to draw the Emperor out of the shadows, if so, the Emperor must decide if this target is worth his sacrifice. I say no, if he is the Emperor then the rebels must eliminate him.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Oh really?? See - it stood out to me as a very weird quote to pluck out at the time.

In fact. What are you even trying to say: "it fit well into the discussion".

Did it? It didn't fit into the discussion at all.

Go back and re-read it, it was a totally random quote that didn't apply at all to what Remus was saying:
Scoop20906 wrote:
Remus West wrote:Scoop, pr0ner was saying that if you are Empire it would be in the best interest of the Empire to kill you because you would make such an epic mistake it would doom us all (maybe he thinks he is killing the guy who designed a moon-sized space station that a single fighter could blow up). He was also saying that if you are a Rebel we should let you live as you would doom them all. I think it was a joke. Which in and of itself is weird from him but is hardly a slip of the nature you are trying to describe it as.
You would prefer another target? A military target? Then name the player!

I grow tired of asking this. So it'll be the last time. Who is the hidden rebel?

Still, its good to see you sticking up for pr0ner, Remus. That will be useful info later.

I'm starting to think that Scoop wasn't sure what special he felt like claiming. In fact, he could be Obi-wan, and was prepared to fake being Tarkin.
Ok, it's not as good a fit as I recall. But in any event when I read it I took it as "so who would you want to lynch?"

In any event what matters now is whether anyone disputes his claim.

If Scoop is now 'off the table'... I can tell you I will not participate in the Witch Hunt on CR (I don't at all think the Dooku thing was 'a slip', as I've stated).

KK anyone? Give him time to make his new game?

Scoop - would you join a KK vote?
CR - would you?
trig?

No. If this is a fake-claim, it would be a major mistake for our Emperor to come forward and counter it right now.

I stongly recommend that if no one else comes forward before (say) 2 or so eastern, those on Scoop move off. I'd recommend Chaos, BUT that's up to you of course.

There's a potential issue here if Scoop is not the Emperor and if the Emperor cannot access the internet at work (though really, if anyone can the emperor can). BUT worst case scenario then Scoop is a day 2 lynch at the latest.
I'm not clear that we're going to have everyone check in before 21:00 Eastern much less put together another non Scoop vote... Which is not to say we lynch Scoop, though my vote's not moving for the moment. CR said he'd check in after he got off work if there was time. Do we wait for that? Do we count on people voting someone else down?

Just not a fan of the last minute decision making.

Right now, if I were to move it'd probably be to kk, q, Mr b, cr, and maybe even t1 but the last game I was in showed that sort of list to be an unfathomable list of the good guy specials all hiding exactly where the bad guys should have been.

Anyhoo, I'm with crowd. CR can go but he's already said he won't be by to defend himself until right when the chariot is to turn into a pumpkin.

This is a fair point. But what now? Lynch and risk killing the emperor? I'm not thrilled about the prospect either.

I could do KK. Honestly amongst the silents I'd still prefer tru1cy based on his lurking, suspicious, and unhelpful conduct (plus he has at least 1 or 2 votes already on him).

Another thing about the emperor coming out is that (unless I'm reading the rules wrong), we can't actually protect him and get a scan, because of Han. Han can disrupt the protection mechanism. So if Scoop's the emperor, all the rebels have to do is use Han and then they can kill him.

So if Scoop's the emperor, we're pretty much boned on that front.

I'm just saying Scoop - you started this game with the big warning that you could hardly even keep up - let alone comment and post from work... Now you have this glorious post that you are the Emperor - and well, that just kinda stands out to me. It's a Great Post - and well...

It'd be risky, but I wonder if they might try it to get us to do their dirty work for them. Maybe counting a day 2 lynch would be a bit ballsy though, I suppose.

no way they let the real emperor live. If scoop is spoofing, obviously they know. They go after him. If he's alive tomorrow we seriously have to consdider lynching him. If he's alive on day 3, he's a lock lynch.

My vote is stickign with CR right now. I'd only consider switching if its a silent...because as unagi has astutely pointed out...they arent helping.

If the Emperor gets killed at night - does he have time to scan and tell the results before he gets killed?

Those of you who have pulled off Scoop should cast a new vote, most likely from the following:

(1) Chaos - our most likely lynch alternative at this point;
(2) KK (possibly tru1cy) - our "silent" lynch alternative; or
(3) Scoop - if you think he's faking.

I'd recommend #1 myself, but we need to get voting.

Unagi, I'd vote for anyone except trig today. I still think chaos is the best choice but will switch if needed to.

However, I need to get back to work and stop running over to the window to get signal so I won't be posting much until this evening.

Also, Unagi, I created the image link last night and emailed it to myself just in case the votes started to pile on again. I was really hoping to remain unknown today but it just didn't happen. Once I saw I was close to n-3 I knew I had to out myself.

Now my only hope is to find Mara jade and make her a thrall of the empire.

It's not a matter of how many people, it's a matter how how many misses and how much you faith you put in the potential faker. If the game was designed for three to four misses then if you suspect a faker then he ought to go by day 3 unless we've rooted out other rebels. This does not take into account the potential for a wookie or how an overvote can change the game.

If R2 and yoda are in the game, even without luke converting Mirror mirror or chewie ripping off an arm, that means

rebels are likely to win going into a night cycle at 15. They could force that night cycle with an overvote, meaning that would be likely to win going into a night cycle at 17. They can force a one time overvote with R2, meaning that they can set up the win going into a night cycle at 19. Things only get worse from there, except that we seem to have a lot of guns.

Me? At this point if I put any faith in Scoop then I put all of my faith in Scoop. I'm not sure I'm ready to give him that faith, either way it may be time to update the resume.

Craziness.

Thanks to what I'm sure was a strong Rebel presence, Scoop goes to the brink and has to reveal his role.

And then what? Folks pull their votes off and there's a significant population of:

"We were totally wrong about Scoop and nearly lynched the Emperor on day 1...but we refuse to consider Chaosraven as a viable target. Let's vote for someone else (who is in the Empire/or who we can create no consensus on and go to the night without a lynch which also helps us Rebels out.)"

Just another log for the fire creating all that swirling smoke that indicts CR to me.

What happened to all of the yoda talk and with Scoop being pushed to the bring before? CR doesn't get a pass but if we were playing batman you would surely be Harvey Dent.

BB2112:

Night: Events happen in turn order
Boba Fett: Who will you protect (once per game)? If successful, you get a free scan the next day.
Grand Admiral Thrawn: Who is worthy of your protection tonight?
Grand Moff Tarkin: Who of the deceased will you scan to learn their true identity?
Han Solo: Will you initiate a block? If so on who?
Rebels: Who will you kill?
Jabba the Hutt: Did you help lynch Solo? If so, then you get a free scan. You will be notified by PM from the moderator.
Emperor: Who will you scan to discern their identity?
Luke Skywalker: Who will you scan for Vader or Mara?
Vader: Who will you scan for Luke?
Rukh: Who will you scan for Thrawn?
Obi Wan Kenobi: Who of the deceased will you scan to learn their true identity?
Talon Karrde: Who will you scan to discern their identity?

I assume the order means that even if Thrawn and Boba Fett exist, Han cancels protection on PlayerX?
Also, if the Rebels kill me, I don't successfully scan Mara, right?
