I wouldn't be surprised to learn this was an unofficial bit performed during a long delay on the runway. Flight attendants know the regulations.

And/but even then, there are some people so afraid of flying they just would take no comfort in the humor. And I would think the airline would be sensitive to that.

Lionel was fairly progressive, for their time, by including girls in their ads instead of exclusively pitching their toys for boys.

This is the one I had in 1974. Or one like it. I cant recall what cars it had but im pretty sure they weren't passenger ones. Had both a red and a blue engine. Not sure why dad got me the extra one. Loved it though. Had an oval track. They nailed it to a piece of plywood for me.









Later when I was about 12 he got me this engine with a full set and a large mountain and terrain layout. Barely fit under the bed.

I forget how old Def Leppard is. Im old too of course now. Doesn't seem long ago I was listening to Pyromania and Hysteria.

I wanted an HO scale train set when I was a kid, but going around in a circle wasn't going to cut it for me. I did get HO cars with a pretty elaborate (although still compact) track, and that was OK because you could race them. But just to have a train running an endless circle...nah.

A model train enthusiast had owned a house that I rented while I was in college. His trains and tracks were long gone, but some of his painted walls and tunnels between rooms were still there. It must have been epic in his day.

Cool bet that was something in its day.

My little steam train lit up and smoked. Loved that.

I had a cheap set here as an adult I got at a yard sale. It had a special car that had a rubber coated wheel in the middle that had some kinda little sand or rocks in it. It touched the track and as the train moved it tumbled and made that chug chug chug sound.

id still like a little Z scale set. MUCH to expensive these days. A cheeseburger is on my list of big purchases Monday.
