Sending you and yours encouragement for more positive signs from your niece, wishes and hopes, strength (all aspects) and capable doctors and staff.

After some signs of hope, she was eventually defeated by her injuries.
We had a memorial, followed by a party to celebrate her life.
Everyone received a balloon, said their final words, and then let go.
After all the sadness and emotions and funny stories, the physical act of letting that balloon go was the most powerful part of the entire memorial celebration.

And even though we are full of sadness and memories, her heart was incredibly strong right up to the end and is already inside some other person, hopefully granting a full and healthy life.

As unhappy an event as this was (the balloons were a great idea), this part makes me smile.

I have a friend whose life was saved by organ transplants, and he fell in love with a woman who was going through the same thing at the time.

It is a way to allow your loss to help someone. Still, I am sorry to hear it.

Sorry to hear of your loss. It always hurts when you have to let go someone you loved.

My mood has snapped. Looking back, it's been on a slide for the last couple of days, but today it's got into full bore irritable. And I can 't find a good reason for it. I'm really beginning to hate my brain chemistry.

Oh, it's not just you, I'm pretty sure it's about everyone walking the planet! Whatever is cycling through I really hope it leaves soon, can't take much more. Hang in there.

Gosh, maybe there's a 'virus' or something. I've been grouchy and "blah!" about everything the last few days, and I have no reason to feel that way. Weird. I'm not sad really, just nothing excites me nowadays.

As I am grouchy all the time I never knew it was a disease. I wonder what the doctor would say...............take two hookers and call me in the morning.
I'd probably still bitch about them.
May smoke a couple of joints..............

It's because the Steam Summer Sale is delayed.

I would have corrected my daughter had she just said that someone "literally jumped out of their seat". Instead she said that someone "almost literally jumped out of their seat".
Who am I to judge is someone almost literally did something.

Ohhhh thanks for the reminder. I must keep an eye out. Just got a new rig and need some more games to test it.

I maintain a thread over in Steals and Deals to make it easier. I don't always get to the daily deal immediately, especially on weekends, but for massive sales, I am pretty good about having them up shortly after the new items go up.

Yep. And if you happen to see Dead Island on sale, don't be afraid to poke me a reminder. :D

Note: Not a formal request and no expectations are attached to it.

No worries. For stuff like that, I generally try to bump the appropriate thread in PC Games and have done the PM thing before if I notice someone on my Friends list has it in their wishlist or I remember someone's been waiting on it.

So the FBI took over some hacker's DNS rerouting but didn't shut them down right away to give people time to clean malware off user's machines before before the FBI breaks their ability of allowing their infected asses to access the Internet.

http://www.redding.com/news/2012/jul/04 ... net-acess/" target="_blank

What I don't get it why the FBI didn't use the redirector like the hackers do or ISPs do and send warnings directly to the infected users when they open their web browsers. "Hey you!. You've got a virus. You are going to lose your Internet on the 10th of July unless you clean it. You will also receive this message every time you start your browser until you're clean. Oh, and you might want to cut back on the pr0n and anarchy type stuff just a little bit. Convivially, the FBI."

And yes if I were in the FBI, I would close every letter with convivially. The world would be a better place everyone did everything conviviallylylyly-ly.

I'm thinking about breaking down and buying a recliner. I'm hoping I can find one to treat almost as if it were a bed. I want to not only be able to fall asleep in one but if I fall asleep I want to think that I could get 5 or 6 or 8 of rested sleep from one.

$90? I wonder if this one would do the trick:

I was sitting in my La-Z-Boy watching the tv last night when the chair suddenly lurched to the right. Upon inspection, one of the dowels joining together two pieces of the frame snapped and the other dowel dislocated. I was able to hammer it back together well enough to hold my weight if I don't recline...for now.

I also discovered the warranty booklet attached to the bottom of the chair. There's a limited lifetime warranty on the frame if I can find the original receipt. That's unlikely; it's been 20 years.

The break looks straightforward enough that I might be able to repair it myself if I had proper tools and workspace. Which I don't. Plus it gave my wife ammunition to agitate for all new living room furniture.

RIP Lezzie Boy, 1992-2012. I want another one just like it.

My morbidly obese brother-in-law broke the frame on our old couch by flinging himself onto it, and we repaired it with a chunk of 2x4, getting several more years of use out of it. But all it needed was to be reinforced at the site of the break, so it was a really simple fix.

In college we put cases of empty beer bottles under the couch where the springs had given out. By the end it was just (beer soaked) cushions on boxes, but beat sitting on the floor.

It's the product description makes me gag though and sours the whole thread reading experience.
A little ring attached, you can hang it on your keychain; It's a great tool for you to keep your ear clean.
Is someone really going to clean their ears out in public when one has their keys in hand? That's gross. It's one thing to feel or see a hardened booger but another to squish orange ear wax.

They were still shooting fireworks off last night. There's going to be no hope for getting sleep this weekend. I pray they're on empty by Sunday night.

The one bright side, if fireworks are going off tonight at 23:00, no one will be offended if I start mowing my lawn then, will they?

This was the first time in years there weren't any fireworks up here. Red Flag/Burn ban in effect.
Of course I did manage to do a little shooting.

Fire ban in CO (obviously) so we went to the casino instead. Good decision since both Neal and I cashed in the Independence Day poker tournament. But I still missed being able to shoot off fireworks. :(

I make my furniture out of 2x4's. My wife has a lovely night stand, entirely 2x4's. My basement shelves, 2x4's. The kid's toy box? 2x4's. Oddly, my wife doesn't want me to make chairs, but perhaps a table for her workroom some day.

Just found out that a guy I work with was visiting his dad's grave yesterday with his family. A big 100 year old tombstone randomly fell over and landed on top of his 5 year old, killing him.

Hug your kids a little tighter today. :|
