Second, shouldn't R2D2 be unaffected by the gas, being a robot and all? Wouldn't he start with knowledge of who the emperor is?
Hey someone else read the intro text!

It seems improbable that they'd be confident enough yesterday or the start of the day in a KK train developing to cast their ironclad votes for him. Which would include me as a suspect, but what can you do.
If that is what happened, why do you think they were posting? Why not go invisible and just monitor things until you can pounce?
If it really was R2D2 though, it doesn't make much sense. Neither Chaos nor Scoop were vulnerable very long at all and KK is just a random. Now, admittedly, everyone has a random, but I would think the Rebels would be more responsible this early in the game.
These are good questions, and it makes me think that either Scoop or Chaosraven (the Emperor) is going to come back dead. If it's KK, it is odd that they'd use the ability on him. Would probably indicate that whoever is not the emperor is R2, and wanted to be sure to use it when he had a chance due to a high risk of getting lynched first otherwise.
The posters thing is just that it has to have been someone who was around the forums today, since the KK train couldn't have been reasonably anticipated. I suppose they didn't have to be posting.
But I'll stop speculating and wait for the actual results.

OK. Is there anything that stands out that I might have heard of or that is particularly representative or damning.
Sorry for causing confusion. Had been discussing Colby and his "Swamp People"-esque family on another board when Theo said something to the effect of believing me to be Empire, expressing a little doubt about CR...and then voting for me. I was puzzled by that play and so in the way that I do things in these games (which is setting the volume knob to 11 a lot of the time!) I invoked Colby for theo in an attempt to keep the bandwagon at bay and allow me to keep my role as under wraps as possible going forward.

So we're saying that both Yoda and R2 fired away on KK as a possibility?

IF KK is the lynch, since he apparently only hit seven votes, then Yoda and R2 must have used their abilities for him to be the lynch. Or Dooku / R2 I suppose, but I'm not sure why Dooku would do that.
Ok, NOW I'm done speculating.

I don't think you'd look good in a red helmet and spandex anyway. I hope this doesn't get you some Rebel attention this evening.

Kenetickid train:
1. stessier (Voted for Scoop, vehemently refused to consider CR)
2. LordMortis (has voted for Scoop, CR, and KK)
3. Semaj (voted for Scoop, no input on CR)
4. El Guapo (voted for Scoop, CR, and KK)
5. pr0ner (voted for Scoop, no input on CR)
6. theohall (voted for Scoop, CR, and KK)
7. Isgrimnur (voted for Scoop, refused to consider CR)
If KK comes back Empire (and I think he will), R2 will not be found in that list (likely R2? Maybe Lassr). Dooku may be in that list. Yoda may not be in that list, but voted for KK.

If KK is our lynch, train formed in less than 20 minutes.
If he comes back Empire, those of you on that train are in for some scrutiny.

Little longer than that. stessier with first vote at 12 pm or so, then a string of 6 more visible votes in 30 minutes.

If KK is the lynch, he *has* to come back empire. R2 has to have been involved due to the vote totals. R2's not going to use his ability if KK is rebel. But yeah, like I was saying, I think it has to be someone involved today if KK comes back dead, and so probably someone on the KK train.
My suspicion is that Chaos or Scoop's going to come back dead, since killing the emperor seems like a worthy use of R2's ability.

I think you are being too obvious. The normal "blind" reply right now is to wait for the bb2112 before making 20 posts about:
If it's Scooop a/b/c/d
If it's Chaos a/b/c/d
If it's KK a/b/c/d
But, don't let me stop you.

Between bb2112's last post and his "voting is closed" post, Scoop went to 9 votes.
There was this weird flurry of CR votes in there too. Did he get back up to 8 or 9? Checking.

I don't see how it could be anything but chaos, but I suppose I could be missing the time line with scoop. The thing is if it's scoop, how the hell did they screw up coordination bad enough to get raven to plea that he was the emperor before deciding to off scoop. It has to be raven in my mind and that puts a number of people, myself included, in a very bad, holding the cookie jar, just short of fingers in it, way.
I see R2 as being involved and that's at least something to show for it, buying the empire time, irrespective of all of the doubt his vote manages to cast.

This is what I have, scoop and CR both outed at 9 then KK reached 7. KK would require a double secret vote to lynch, Scoop or CR just require R2.

As the day dragged on, people's nerves were getting frayed. Maybe finding the Rebel was going to be harder than originally thought. The vote for Scoop20906 was very close to putting him down for the count, but the masses couldn't bring themselves to put in their final vote. Triggercut shouted Chaosraven, it has to be him and the votes started to slowly withdraw from Scoop20906. Pretty soon it looked like a race, and although it was very slow, both sides got very heated.
Scoop20906 finally stands up, "Enough, I am your Emperor, Darth Sideous, or is it Sidious, well whatever, I am your Emperor! Bow down before me and pay homage!" Many quickly dropped to one knee stammering out apologies, while others stared at him with incredulity. Suddenly votes that went for Scoop20906 quickly changed to Chaosraven. He must be an evil Rebel if Scoop20906 is our leader.
Coopasonic and Theohall who both pulled their votes away from Chaosraven quickly put them back on. Lord Mortis rapidly joins his vote to the list bringing Chaosraven to 9. Chaosraven, seing the writing on the wall, quickly stands up and yells "Liar!" and points at Scoop. "How can you people even think he is the Emperor, he doesn't even know his own name! You are all a bunch of dorks and you will be sorry! I am your true Emperor! Stop this madness right now!"
Triggercut, bewildered at the turn of events drops prostrate before Chaosraven, "Forgive me my Emperor, I withdraw my vote from you immediately."
The room erupts into a roar as people claim "Scoop20906 has to be the true Emperor!" While others shout, "No! It is Chaosraven!" This goes on for some time while the mod is busy taking his controller from Mexico out to lunch at TGI Friday's. When he returns he has found that all hell has broken loose on the board and now he has to spend a lot of time sorting out what the hell just happened - but that is another story. A much sadder, much more boring story, in another galaxy far, far away.
While the mayhem ensues, Semaj, who had been very quiet, stands up on the conference table. "Guys! Guys! Settle down! Shut Up! I have something to say!" It seemed like the mayhem went on for pages more while Semaj struggled to get the group quiet. "Seriously, guys we have an issue here! The computer just spit out the vote tally and it says Chaosraven has 11 votes against him!"
Stunned the group just looked at each other. This can't be right, several people are seen racing back to their notes and calculating their tallies. Some came back with 8 votes, others 9, many others just shrugged their shoulders and said the computer must be right. Everyone had lost track of the voting during the shouting. Kenetickid, just shook his head. "Before things get any more out of hand, we have to uphold the rule of law. I guess it is up to me," he thinks silently, and pulls out a blaster and blows a hole in Chaosraven's chest.
Triggercut, who was still lying prostrate on the floor, was the only one close enough to hear Chaosraven's last words as Chaosraven drops with a thud next to him on the floor. "I was loyal to the Empire you dicks."
Chaosraven is dead.
