Hey, remember that time Trump was in a soft-core porn video for Playboy back in 2000? I guess when he sent those tweets this morning, he didn't either:

Trump breaks a bottle of champagne on a Playboy-branded limo while several of the Playmates are visiting New York City. “Beauty is beauty, and let’s see what happens with New York,” Trump says.
If I've learned anything after years of cyber, I'm nearly certain that photo is going to have some glorious photoshopping.
Maybe next year, maybe no go

My impression is that he's talking about the era between WWII and the rise of the internet when people were conditioned to believe that we were infallible and the heroes of the world. I think he's offering to bring back the ignorance.

Yeah, Christianity is all about slaves obeying their masters. Get your religions straight!

Oh, I suppose it's maybe also about loving your neighbor as yourself and blessed are the meek, but those are the dumb parts we ignore.

So there's no "religious freedom" cry from some Christians in our country who want to refuse basic rights to gay people in our country?

Good to know. I will disregard the numerous examples to the contrary safe in the knowledge that we live in a perfect society in which everyone accepts everyone else without exception.

p.s. I just watched a Westboro Baptist Church demonstration and I had to read between the lines on their posters and shouts. When they say "Gay people should die", they're really saying "Gay people are our friends!".

The United States of America. We may want to think we're a secular nation, but read every speech ever given by a political figure and find me anywhere they don't mention God.

edit: Also, Uganda is 4/5ths Christian and they actually have Anti Homosexual laws. Evangelical Christians have been preaching the Westboro Church brand of intolerance in many African countries that consider themselves Christian.

<mic drop>

Now false equivalency that! :naughty:

Trump Tax Records Obtained by The Times Reveal He Could Have Avoided Paying Taxes for Nearly Two Decades
Tax experts hired by The Times to analyze Mr. Trump’s 1995 records said tax rules that are especially advantageous to wealthy filers would have allowed Mr. Trump to use his $916 million loss to cancel out an equivalent amount of taxable income over an 18-year period.

Although Mr. Trump’s taxable income in subsequent years is as yet unknown, a $916 million loss in 1995 would have been large enough to wipe out more than $50 million a year in taxable income over 18 years.

So being a shitty businessman and losing almost a billion dollars in one year allows him to avoid paying any taxes for almost two whole decades?

What a totally fucked up system we have.

So, I'm just ignorant here.

You can declare a loss on Year 1. And then on Years 2 - X you can claim zero-taxable-income until you overcome the loss declared on Year 1 ?

What?

Nolo
If your losses exceed your income from all sources for the year, you have a “net operating loss” (NOL for short). While it’s not pleasant to lose money, an NOL can provide important tax benefits: It may be used to reduce your tax liability for both past and future years.
...
You may apply an NOL to past tax years by filing an application for refund or amended return for those years. This is called carrying a loss back. (IRC Sec. 172.) As a general rule, it’s advisable to carry a loss back, so you can get a quick refund from the IRS on your prior years’ taxes. However, it may not be a good idea if you paid no income tax in prior years, or if you expect your income to rise substantially in future years and you want to use your NOL in the future when you’ll be subject to a higher tax rate.

Ordinarily, you may carry back an NOL for the two years before the year you incurred the loss. However, the carry-back period is increased to three years if the NOL is due to a casualty or theft, or if you have a qualified small business and the loss is in a presidentially declared disaster area.
...
You have the option of applying your NOL only to future tax years. This is called carrying a loss forward. You can carry the NOL forward for up to 20 years and use it to reduce your taxable income in the future. When you do this, you must attach a statement that includes a computation showing how you figured the NOL deduction. If you deduct more than one NOL in the same year, your statement must cover each of them.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Donald Trump's meltdown appears to be continuing apace
As news of Trump’s taxes breaks, he goes off script at a rally in Pennsylvania
It took Trump nearly 25 minutes to read the brief statement because he kept going off on one angry tangent after another — ignoring his teleprompters and accusing Clinton of not being “loyal” to her husband, imitating her buckling at a memorial service last month, suggesting that she is “crazy” and saying she should be in prison. He urged his mostly white crowd of supporters to go to polling places in "certain areas" on Election Day to "watch" the voters there. He also repeatedly complained about having a "bum mic" at the first presidential debate and wondered if he should have done another season of “The Apprentice.”

As Trump ranted in this rural Pennsylvania town, The New York Times reported it had anonymously received Trump’s 1995 income tax returns, which show he declared a loss of $916 million -- a loss that he could use to avoid paying any federal income taxes for up to 18 years.

The evening capped one of Trump's worst weeks of the campaign season, one that started with his shaky debate performance on Monday night and went on to include a public feud with a former beauty queen, a middle-of-the-night tweet storm, attacks on the Clintons' marriage and an examination of an decades-old adult film that briefly featured Trump fully clothed.
Donald and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week.

He also mocked Clinton having Pneumonia (similar to how he mocked that disabled reporter) which is so three weeks ago.

I'm open to the possibility that he's subconsciously sabotaging his own campaign, probably because he never really wanted the job in the first place. I wouldn't be surprised if those pages from his taxes were sent by "John Barron".

Or perhaps it's his evil good twin.

If someone can find and publish the income tax loopholes associated with becoming a party nominee for President, campaigning and then dropping out the month before the elections it sounds like maybe he'll finally have his out.
