Why are you trying to politicize Daehawk's unrequited crush on "Graham cracker" (his pet name for Lindsey)?

Ahh, a modification on the sextortion scam.

After getting a few of these, they stop becoming effective once you notice the pattern. I even got one at one time that was supposed to include a bitcoin key and a compromised password, but ended up not including either, which hilariously enough meant they had only done half their job.

The safest course of action is to expose yourself.

I never get that kind of thing, but I do get invitations to join the Illuminati and be gifted ONE MILLION DOLLARS by my new secret brethren.

I just can't be bothered. I mean, I'd have to look up my bank account numbers and such.

I only ever seem to get notices that there has been suspicious activity on my bank accounts with major banks that I don't have accounts with, except on my phone. I'm always getting texts about problems with my USPS package being held up.

Oh, yeah. I get the "USPS has your package but doesn't know where to deliver it" message every five or six weeks.

Sure, USPS somehow has my phone number but not my address. And the sender is usually someone like whowhatATwhatevers.com.

I've gotten several "You've got a money request" scam emails from PayPal the last couple of weeks. It's always from a different name, and the amount varies. The devious part about those is that the email itself is actually from PayPal (so it gets past every filter and is flagged as "trusted sender"). But the invoice isn't actually directed at my PayPal user, otherwise the top line that says "Hello blah blah blah" would have my name instead of the gibberish email address (and there's a different scam that does involve fraudulent invoices sent to your PayPal but then you'd be able to see them in your account).

The key is that they want you to call the number that they list in the notes hoping that it appears as an official PayPal fraud warning (it's always a different number, too). Obviously if one were to call this number, they'd be talking to the scammers, not PayPal.

I haven't used Paypal in a decade. Zelle seems to work fine, and you don't have to use a credit card.

This was a new one. I got a text reminding about an appointment I don't have with "Kyla Wales Beard and Blade" through Square. I deleted it and then a half hour later I get "a receipt" from an unknown website. And this is why I don't have any sort of wallets or payment funnels through larger services beyond paypal or my CC.

Here's a better one:

Customers lost 300K in Crypto to "fake" Uber driver

Wait, how can there be a "fake" Uber driver?
