Looks at Trok, sighs, turns back to Gorum.
Shall we find the rest of our companions then and enlist their aid? I think it would be best if we had some trustworthy people with us. Let us find them and be away.

Fine, fine. Ye wanna' get all warm an' cuddly with the song-hatin' elves... then we'll try it yer way. I'm warnin' ye though, first un that looks sideways at me? THWACK! Down goes the axe! Soooo, why don't ye go russel up the rest of our fine group o' lads while ol' Trok and I stay here and work out the details of our... uhhh... diplomatic fee fer talkin' to the elves.
Gorum gives a knowing wink to Trok when he says "diplomatic" and then suddenly realizes the half-orc probably has no idea what he's talking about or the subtle nuances of his conversation. Giving a small shake of his head the dwarf turns back to Eldred to work out the specifics of how pay will be handled, where they should go, and who they should "talk" to. And in the back of his mind he begins working out a way to convince the rest of his group to make a small side-trip to a ruin about 2 days away that he'd found on an old map purchased in town.

Trok attempts to discern what Gorum is talking about, trying to figure out what the hairy little git wants out of him.
After some time of contemplation inside Trok's head, he realizes that the one-eyed blink made by Gorum was an attempt to indicate that Trok should be MEAN Trok!
Trok understand! Trok shouts, before noticing that the conversation had moved past the wink several minutes before. Nevertheless, understanding his job, Trok stands up as tall as possible and attempts to look as imposing as possible.

Having gathered Zonyx and Behan along with the party's gear, Searin proceeds to the gate to meet Gorum and Trok and begin the next leg of their journey

Eldred can offer a bounty on a Live Elf of 4000gp, assuming of course it's one of the ones bound and determined to kill themselves on the walls.
He will cough up 15% in advance due to his connection with the Bard.
"Where are you off to?"
"I don't know," Snufkin replied.
The door shut again and Snufkin entered his forest, with a hundred miles of silence ahead of him.

Gorum notices Trok scowling at Eldred and thinks to himself "If that thug opens his mouth right now I just might give him an uppercut to the balls." And then turning to the rest of the party he says,
Well, looks like we've got us a might good quest! Capture a frilly little forest lover alive! That should prove interestin'. Better get yer chains an' ropes ready! We're in fer a hunt! Now... before we head straight after tha pointy ears, might I suggest a little... detour.
With a flourish the bard unfurls a small crude map and begins showing it to his companions. Next to a large, dramatic X is scribbled the word "ruins".
Whadda' ye think, eh? A little ruin rompin' never hurt anyone, eh?

Searin ponders the idea of ruins with hopes that there may be some connection to old magics that could teach him something about these portals
I'm up for a little exploration.

The ruins are a few days off...
on the first day of travel you come across a group of Clerics (robes and holy symbols being a dead giveaway) shortly before nightfall

Shouldn't you get the answer to the first two questions before you go trying to get them in the sack?Hemlock Bones wrote:Hail friends! How do you fare?
See if I can get a feel for these clerics
How many? Race? sex?

Wounds? Have people been attacked then or was there an accident? If they were attacked do you know by who or what? Any information that you could share that may allow us to remain safe or perhaps lend a needed sword to assist the worthy would be welcome.Chaosraven wrote:No, thankfully but we have had opportunity to help a few travelers with their own wounds.

Gorum notices the clerics hestitation and quickly focuses his attention on the strangers. With a quick nudge to Trok the bard mutters:
I'm not likin' this greeny. Somethin's fishy 'ere. Might be them spell-beggars will need some persuadin' to give us the story.

Relax my friend. May I offer a hypothetical story for you. Suppose you were a Priest dedicated to healing all those in need. Suppose you did so without reservation. You would likely be aware that the party that injured the one you healed may not view your actions kindly. What you would not know is that we would not have an issue with it as we are not part of the group that injured anyone. We work for them only in that we mean to discover the cause behind these events that lead to injuries and put a stop to them.Kehama wrote:Gorum notices the clerics hestitation and quickly focuses his attention on the strangers. Searin turns away from Kehama and faces the Clerics
Maybe the ones you healed could aid our quest by sharing information with us? Maybe we could complete our work and thus put you out of work in this area? Would your story facilitate that?

Some of our recent work has been on those who are not welcome within yonder walls... (mostly truthful)
Though we abhor getting entangled in politics, (this is a lie)
we cannot stand by and let those around us suffer when we can lend our aid (truth)

I appologize for asking so many questions but please bear with me a while longer. Are you on a mission in town? Perhaps we could give you the name of someone who might aid you if we new your intent there. Also, could you then direct us to the Elves that we might have a chance to speak peaceably with them?
