Spent some time reading OO Wiki. The "catch up" by DBT (end of
pg 1) for
Sissy loves her new job is some of his best posting.
Then it was onto
Teh Gay thread.
Great way to start the morning

In London, did the tourist things over the weekend, thanks for those suggestions. Palace, Tower, Eye, that sort of thing. Went to Regents Park, planning on Kew Gardens next weekend. I am staying near Angel Station, which has huge piles of shops and pubs and eateries.
But, are there any eating places I shouldn't miss? Any particular English foods that I should try?
I had fish and chips with mushy peas. I like fish and chips, and this pub they were quite good, but I didn't care for the peas.
Somebody told me to try pie and mash, and that sounds good, a meat pie and some smashed potatoes, that is exactly the kind of food I normally like.
Since I have to eat out every freaking night, suggestions are welcome.

Parents called the other night. Said they had good news and bad news. Hit me with good news.
My cousin is pregnant. Oh, that's nice. What's the bad news.
My aunt and uncle are divorced. Oh, that's too bad. When did they start the proceedings, I inquire, as I immediately picked up on the "are divorced" vs "getting divorced."
3.5 years ago. They've been divorced for that long and just told my grandmother who then told the rest of the family. They live out of state where the rest of the family lives closer, so it wasn't too hard to put up the pretense. But it certainly explains why they have been avoiding family gatherings. We still don't know why it happened, but my brother is nosey and the internet is eternal. It is very possible my uncle is gay, which would certainly explain the situation.
Either way - 3.5 years made me chuckle. And it's amazing what you can find on the internet. But then we already knew that.

Well, yes, Mr. Regional President. We will not hit a 5% increase in sales next year due to capacity issues, but if you think changing it to a 6% increase will make everything better, then what the hell. We can miss that number just as easily.
Never let facts get in the way of a good story, or budget in this case. This is all so he can go to his boss and look like his team is pulling their weight. That is until actuals star rolling in and we miss our number every freaking month.

Funny how this statement coincides with the release of XCom, no. Also remind to say "no" to invitations for gaming for the next couple of weeks and that sucks because I have long weekend beginning in about seven more hours.

Well, I'm at work so it hasn't fully taken hold. We shall have to see if I fight it off in the next few days. I may not actually have a throat infection. I may just be over tired and have a scratchy throat from snoring. At least that is what I am telling myself and don't you dare contradict me.

Head to the bar after work and put away a few. Alcohol kills germs, and it will be going right down your throat so it's doubly-effective. Honest...

That has worked in the past. Oddly though I feel fine right now and have for a couple hours now. Still planning on the extra sleep tonight just to be on the safe side but it is weird to feel like that in the morning and have it go away before noon.

Last night I was looking around Netflix streaming for some Kevin Smith movies and found the show he did to celebrate his 40th birthday. It was 1:57 long and I only had about 20 minutes before I was going to pass out, but I thought it might be good for a laugh or two before that (I really enjoy his podcasts).
After about a 10 minute intro, he opens it up for Q&A and promises to keep his normally verbose responses to a minimum to get the most questions in. The first question asked what it was like to direct Bruce Willis in Cop Out. (He's talked very obliquely about it in his podcasts usually refusing to rehash it because he talked about it in this show, so I was very curious.) This was about the 0:13 mark of the movie.
One hour and 17 minutes later, he finally finished the story. To answer the original question, he more or less recounted his whole career to explain how he ended up directing Cop Out. I had heard much of it before on his Smodcasts, but it was still funny and there were a few new stories I got to hear. The payoff on what it was like to direct Bruce was also quite entertaining.
At that point, I turned it off and went to bed. I still have 26 minutes left to watch.

So,
I was working on a small project here at the house and I clicked on a
song that I just love. It's kind of hard to even out and paperclip while hopping all over the place but possible.
Then I thought of RockBand. Jumping around while trying to read the lyrics to songs I only memorized the refrain to. I was such a baby with the onset of the RB craze. Vocals was my gig and I sang very softly and was very still. Now I have a reputation as being THE person on the mic when we plug everything in. Give me room and know I'm coming your way to do the singer/guitar thing, working the stage with the band and showboating. Funny how things change, in this case for the better with my self esteem.

Know a bored Tunisian kid? Get him a subscription to
Qawz Quzah (Rainbow) magazine:
A how-to guide on putting together a Molotov cocktail is not something you would expect a children’s magazine to feature, but that is exactly what recently ran in "Qawz Quzah," a popular Tunisian magazine whose name means "rainbow" in Arabic and is aimed at children aged five to 15.
“(A Molotov cocktail) is an improvised weapon that is often used in riots and acts of sabotage because it is easy to make and use,'' reads the article, which came complete with detailed instructions on how to make a Molotov cocktail and appeared in the latest edition of Qawz Quzah.
The article, which appeared in a section of the publication called "Knowledge Corner," touched a raw nerve in a country still struggling to tame the unrest stirred up by last year's successful revolution, the first of the Arab Spring. The government on Monday announced that it would prosecute the popular magazine for running it.
...
On Tuesday, the magazine’s editor-in-chief Monji Chebbi was forced to apologize on Tunisian television for what he described as a “professional mistake.”

Ummm, thinking you want MHS's daughter if you are looking for pipes... unless you are looking for goofiness. I'm the type of person who sounds good when singing with the radio or messing around with RockBand.

Sorry, I was kind of a dick about it, too. I usually try to turn a blind eye to it, but some days it gets to me more than others. This happens to be one of those days. I removed my prior post.
