There seems to be a rule in play that Quicksilver can sorta place people and objects into his relative time and use them without regard to the 'real' time scale.

For instance, he also picks up a can of cola - tips it back, and drinks it -- presumably, the liquid in the can dropped into his mouth at the normal rate of time instead of being trapped back in sluggish real-time.

It took me through my entire young childhood years of the 70s. As I said in the video's comments Im sitting here crying still. It really hit me. Like a generational thing...I was there. I saw and heard most all of the stuff that flashes by in that video. Its like my childhood flashed before my eyes. Really stuck me.

This and the Christmas thread has almost done me in. Just sitting here typing and sobbing. All that Ive had and gone now. Looking back is quiet a thing.

They can also use an autorefractor... doesn't give perfect measurements, but it's more than enough to improve a kid's vision until they're able to give feedback for themselves.

Many optometrists/ophthalmologists use an autorefractor for all patients in order to get a starting point for the refractometer process in patients getting glasses for the first time. The first two things that always happen at my annual appointment are the autorefractor and the stupid glaucoma machine that puffs air at your eye... really not a fan of that thing.

+1. The thought that you spend hours and hours looking at old TV ads and shows -- well, we all have to fill 24 hours a day...but living in the past seems like a sad way to do it. I'm a little older than most of you so 1980-90s nostalgia just isn't a thing for me, so I thought maybe I was the only one who saw it that way.

I probably watched a dozen of his videos at various points of my YouTube consumption, and while his subjects were of interest to me, he’s one of those creators who really rubbed me the wrong way. I’m glad he’s found a happy way to enter the post-YT stage.
