Tremblay went on to declare Project Polaris, which is currently being worked on by 400 members of CDPR's 650-strong staff, would be bigger and better than anything the studio had done before. "And the next game we do will not be smaller, and it will not be worse. So it will be better, bigger, greater than The Witcher 3, it will be better than Cyberpunk—because for us, it's unacceptable [to launch that way]. We don't want to go back."
It may not be a popular opinion, but looking at Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, I think they're big enough. I'd rather that they focus on making the minor side content more meaningful (no more 200 NCPD scanner hustles...), plus polishing up the balance and performance. In other words, have it great on launch, not two years later.

I'd expect their goal is to have meaningful side content (like Witcher 3) with a main story structure like Cyberpunk 2077 (allowing a main story playthrough to be relatively quick if you don't do the side content), while being stable and polished at launch. Being "bigger" in the sense of having more side content is not going to be a problem if it's well-crafted but optional.

I tried to install world of tanks blitz on my new phone to see what it was like and it asked me to log in..so I figure it wants my regular WOT login..I try that and it wants me to type in the stupid ass captcha thingy where it shows you a code..usually some letters and numbers. Well its on my phone so its too small for me to see and I get out the magnifying glass...I tried 3 or 4 and that failed then made it give me a new code about I sweat 30 times...and every single damn time it would put a line or a squiggle through the code so I couldn't make it out. I tried and tried until I got eye strain from it and still couldn't read it! If you want me to type in a code you give me to prove Im not a bot then dont put a line or squiggle through it so I can damn well read it!! ...sigh

The squiggle is there to keep the bots from being able to easily tell what the letters are. If they just printed them clearly, the bots could also 'read' them.

Im only 2 minutes in and can already feel the love. Clint loves a show I love lol..of course. I even wrote some of the hosts on Computer Chronicles within the last couple years and thanked them for what they did with the show and how much I loved and appreciated them. Some of them like Stewart and Paul wrote back to me. It was awesome. Ok back to LGR video...
EDIT That was great! Thanks Rumpy!..I invited Clint to OO in my comments I posted to the video.

Yeah, he was hit quite hard during the hurricane, but it's nice to see that he's been doing what he can, and it's actually quite heartwarming to see.
It's interesting how they refer to the computer user as the 'hacker'.

Ya I know right..hackers..lol..we were rebels back then I suppose..to the outside world of non computer people I mean. I hope he does more videos like this one...his retro love and take on these CC vids is really fun to watch. He is in the know and knows and loves this stuff like us. makes it more interesting than someone else just watching or reacting to them.
Also Im glad he mentioned that Vampire Robot site. I went and followed instantly..that is right up my ally ..in my wheel house...just for me

It's such an 80's term lol. I can see it from their point of view though as the term hadn't yet gained notoriety, and of course you have different types of hackers. But it kind of sounds brazen when you hear everyone referred to as a hacker. It actually threw me for a loop when I heard him say it.

The only thing that worries me is the multiplayer. They don't mention it's a solo game, and the way they introduce different characters reminds me of a typical online game where you'd be playing different roles against others. That's the feeling I get from watching this trailer.

I love Virtua Fighter in the arcades in the early 90s. I played Virtua Fighter, Pit Fighter, and Mortal Kombat all in arcades. Loved them.

The Steam page mentions PvE and PvP, so color me skeptical.
Re: Video Games Randomness - Prioritize specific game threads!
To get right to it, Thick of Thieves is, essentially, multiplayer Dishonored that's been streamlined to accommodate relatively brisk bouts of competitive infiltration. It all unfolds in an alternate-history metropolis loosely evocative of Dishonored's Dunwall, where technology and magic combine, where portly guards patrol regular beats, and where rooftops and sewer tunnels are as viable thoroughfares as its rain-soaked streets and squalid alleyways.
...
And ignoring the multiplayer stuff for a minute, there's plenty that should be tantalising to immersive sim fans. This is a game about players finding solutions to their own problems; of recognising a challenge, pausing and assessing the world, then making a plan and executing it using the tools at their disposal.

So yeah, multiplayer-only, which I suspected, which in other words seems like a live-service game. This makes me wonder how they'll approach the stealth. It looks like you might be able to choose different characters with different stats and strengths. But I'm far less optimistic than others. It kind of reminds me of the Robin Hood game from about a year or two ago, which wasn't much of a hit. And I suspect they'll be lots of griefing in this.

These big award show/reveals make me increasingly realize how much gaming is simply passing me by.
There's not a single game in there that looks interesting to me.
