This has been the gift that keeps on giving. Because of the 10 day run of antibiotics, I developed pseudo-membraneous colitis. So then I had to go on a 10 day course of Flagyl (Worst.Drug.Ever) to cure the colitis. I started that last Tuesday so I still have 3 days left. Because of the Flagyl, I now have oral thrush, so I'll start some other course of something because of that. When our dogs get tummy problems we give them Flagyl.
The only oral thrush over the counter med that works half way decent is AZO white tablets.
Otherwise it's off to the doc's.

Reminds me of the scene from the newer Star Trek, where Bones gives Kirk viral symptoms and has to keep injecting him with different cures to counter the side-effects of the previous cure. Funny there. Here, not so much.

Oh man.......

I had a root canal a year ago and I can't imagine puking during the middle of that with all the stuff they put in your mouth. I never have trouble with dentists (except for the fear of them) but the stuff they put in your mouth to prep for a root canal had me semi-freaking. It was really hard to swallow and took some real control to just do that.

You should have looked into sedation therapy options for dental work. I have a daughter that thankfully has never had a cavity because I think if she ever had to undergo any real dental work she would hurl all over the doctor. As a kid the first time the dentist (a family friend) treated her she threw up on him. He never really got over that. Anyway, for a cavity or especially for a root canal she would need sedation dentistry.

At work today, I trailed a guy into the restroom. He looked over his shoulder, made eye contact, and then walked directly to the center out of three urinals.

Weird.

27 minutes left in the work day. I have a little I could be doing but I'm saving it for tomorrow when I'll have next to nothing to do and all of a halfday to do it in. I'm bored.

Ha. Right now I'm online chatting with brother, mother, and child, playing Words with Friends on my iPad, and staring at the clock. I had cleared today and tomorrow because I was supposed to have a work trip but it got cancelled yesterday so I have absolutely nothing on my plate.

I've seen this mentioned a half dozen times in the last few weeks, all from different places. No idea why. Chance, kismet, or implanted by media (meme?)?

And while I'm at it, meme feels like a word I'm growing to dislike. I don't like not liking words because words are magic and magic is cool. Maybe meme is really just a meme I'm growing to dislike, a sort of cop out voodoo concept, and the word is still copacetic.

Center strip painting truck in front of me going through intersection slows to pick up cone at same time a car is about to tag me behind. I try to thread the needle with my braking and lost. Giant steel trailer hitch implants into my front end bending the crap out of my radiator and other parts barely leaving a scratch (thankfully!) on the city truck. Two hours later and my 180k miles Cherokee is looking potentially totaled depending on costs to repair the damage. FML. At least it doesn't seem there will a ticket, though I wonder if insurance will go up if the city reports the accident (as I'm sure they are required to do).

I us usually "save" between 40 and 70% on my groceries by combining sale and coupon shopping but I also usually buy too many pantry items. I've been surviving off almost nothing for a few months trying to clear out all of my canned and boxed and packaged goods.

Nothing like leaving the liquor store at 10:30 am with a $164 receipt. As I get older, I'm realizing that apparently it's my job to have my Dad and MIL's liquor of choice on hand at all times. I guess it could be worse, but it's not something I was expecting.

I would have gone shopping for wine and beer earlier in the week but then I would have drank half of it and would have just ended up in a long line today anyway. So there is no avoiding the busy package store but I can cut my losses.

I thought hosting was cleaning before and after. I don't keep stuff on hand that other people like. I make stuff I can't warrant making for myself if I'm not hosting.

It was good thing he saved all that money on grocery shopping.

What if you keep a stocked cabinet because you basically drink everything?
wot?

Ok, so I missed the "at all times" part of the comment. Still, unless they drink entire bottles when they visit, it's a buy once stock for a long time scenario anyway. It's not like I'm throwing out any partly full bottles after a visit.

And if you stock everything because you drink everything, having stuff on hand for visitors probably isn't your biggest problem anyway. :D

I have more bottles of liquor than just about anyone I know - in terms of variety, I'm well stocked. What I'm missing is volume of a particular blended scotch that they both drink. My wife and I have been married for over a decade now and for either my Dad or MIL to take a drink a year during some type of hosting event was a big deal. Now when they step foot in my house, it's like a two drink minimum. I'm happy to provide it, I was just recognizing how much they go through now (as opposed to 10 years ago) and that the holidays would apparently be a mess unless I grab a handle of Dewars.

Regarding hosting? Perhaps you were upset by the sliced fruit that I brought to you. I brought you those slices of fruit because I thought that you might be hungry. If those fruit slices were not fresh enough, I will go to the 24-hour supermarket all the way on the other side of town and hand-select the store's ripest kiwi, in hopes that you will find it acceptable. If you don't like kiwi, I will seek out a farmers market and purchase fresh fruits of the finest local varieties. I'm all about hosting.
