Well, you do pump the soap before you wash your hands, don't you? Therefore, the pump gets germs on it!

Now, they may have forgotten that you then wash your hands with said soap immediately afterward, but why should that stand in the way of progress?

That's my point. If you're touching the germ-ridden soap pump with your hands in order to dispense soap, the next logical step would be to wash your hands, thereby destroying the offending germs. They've come up with a high-tech solution to a problem that was already self-correcting.

All in the name of progress, I guess.

I discovered the library's wireless signal is terrible. I don't have a desk at home and am currently using a surface barely large enough for my keyboard and mouse pad. I needed a bit more space today so I crossed the street to use my crappy laptop and have room to write stuff down. I peaked at about 50k per second. Not bad when you consider the many computers possibly connected to the system but it isn't a drop in the bucket when compared to the usual connection I get at home.

The deodorant I just got has "NEW 3D Protection". Does this mean my previous deodorants only had protection in two dimensions? No wonder so many people were offended when I approached them from my z-axis.

How on earth does a western Canadian girl become a Patriots fan? That seems random.

And then one invites her to a mutual friend's wedding later in the summer. And she says sure. And it won't go anywhere, but I can be drunk and imagine it will anyways.

That's pretty much how I lost my college girlfriend 18 years ago. She met some dude, said she was dumping me over the summer, he invited her to a friend's wedding, and she dumped me after graduating by "inadvertently" letting me see a letter she wrote him. Worked out for the best, because now she has 12 kids, while I have a beautiful Spanish wife and only one 13-year old daughter. I say hit it already, but would sympathize with the future ex-bf.

The clock on our DVR still hasn't reset to DST. If it doesn't record Lost tomorrow, heads will roll. My heads. For some reason the DVR's failings are always my fault.

Blame Bush. Isn't he the one who moved the dates for DST?

Woke up at 4am with an earthquake. I was more irritated than anything else. Along with the time change I was not a happy camper to wake up.

Couldn't figure out where else to post this and figure it'll just fade into the ether here. :)

I saw that Game ready shop models thread before it was locked and couldn't for the life of me figure out what the point was. Now I know. I blame DST for being so slow this morning.

You know, replace all those rockets with a single 20mm and things would probably be a lot more respectable. And cheaper.

The time change is still fucking with my sleep forcing me to wake up more than normal at night with flashes of dream memories where soups need more garlic and kitchens need more elevators.

I think it might be a subconscious expression of my desire to own a house with giant laundry shoot and a dumbwaiter and one of the classic gated elevators and one of those of those big entrance ways with dual winding staircases.

Except I like living in a ranch and don't ever want to live a home larger than I have use for. So stairways and dumbwaiter and elevators would be mostly useless.

But a useful laundry shoot. That's where it's at. I have a laundry shoot in my house. But the exit is right above the laundry tub and even if it weren't the drop is like 8 inches wide by 2 inches deep. You can't just huck stuff down it. I'd have to fold a pair pants up nice and neatly and still work and show to get them to fit down through that hole.

You know your neck too fat when they force everyone in the office to wear a necklace of green beads and everyone else's necklaces hang to the top of their stomachs while yours hangs to the top of your sternum. They inform you that your necklace is just not seated under your collar properly. They go to adjust it for you with that sort of "you're a dumbass" look. And then they look embarrassed for you as they realize there is nothing to adjust.

:(

He took off his shirt - he got the beads. Pretty standard transaction this side of the border.

So that I could be even more bitter and resentful towards authority and my more complacently cooperative peers, right?

(Actually, pep rallies were a good opportunity to skip.)

Is the title "Porn Star" given to anyone who is in an adult film or is there an actual hierarchy one has to climb through in order to obtain the title? It seems to me like it's given out pretty freely these days.

Just wondering...

Awesome.

He also posted a cool picture story of Six Flags in New Orleans

This is especially cool as I am sure it serves and inspiration for our (their, really) expanding Halloween party.

I was having a pint at the pub this aft, and the Boondock Saints sequel was playing (probably a holdover from Wednesday) on the TV screens that weren't showing sports... no sound or subtitles or anything... but even without dialogue it looks AWFUL. Also, Sean Patrick Flanery is not aging well. I had to look it up just now to verify it was even him reprising that role.

I haven't seen the original but I did watch the documentary on the making of it. The whole thing was just one long train wreck, despite it coming out alright (apparently).

I forgot my headphones today. I stood at the doorside table, checking my pockets, even realized which one was light (left front, had my phone and pen), and then just waled out the door, leaving my headphones behind. No music for me today. Just the soothing ambient sounds of the office workplace.

I have three sets of headphones with me today: the USB headphones which I leave plugged into my workplace desktop, the bluetooth headphones I listen to on my walk into work, and my active noise-cancelling headphones I carry in my backpack for when they leave the door open to the (highly cooled, highly fanned) server room just outside my cube. I'm not listening to any of these at the moment.

The second isn't quite as bad as AWFUL, but it is definitely not up to the standards of the first one (which isn't a great film but is an entertaining movie). I was amused by it, at least, since I figured it would be bad going in.

Boondock Saints: :binky: :binky: :binky: :binky: :binky: :binky: :binky: out of 8, because it is awesome.
Boondock Saints sequel: :binky: :binky: :binky: out of 8, though I'd stretch it to a fourth because it is at least Boondock Saints-related.

The roof seems to be under constant attack by geese this morning. The barrage is turning out to be non stop. We've never had a geese roof attack before. It sound like dogs are running non stop through our duct work. That or we've got an escaped mouse from the Looney Tunes.
