A crazy grandpa screaming delusional accusations from his front porch tends to get far more wrong than right.
I'm personally surprised they didn't even have a single thread to tug on just for a little show, though. Trump really needs people to see his opposition as working to cripple him so it's not his fault when he loses.

Would have been delicious if some 14 year old griefer had guessed it and Tweeted out mounds of random nonsense. Well, more nonsense than there is normally. Something to make coveffe and "good people on both sides" look like cotton candy.

The article is hilarious. Hackers get access to your accounts. Those same hackers suggest a new password you can use to keep it safe. You then use the password the hackers gave you. Lo and behold, those same hackers somehow guess your new password. Hmm.Defiant wrote: Fri Oct 23, 2020 10:25 amPresident Trump’s Twitter accessed by security expert who guessed password ‘maga2020!’

Honestly, someone could have tweeted out "Stimulus deal done! $1200!" or "New tariffs on all Chinese goods!" and made millions on the resulting market moves if they knew what they were doing.Paingod wrote: Fri Oct 23, 2020 10:28 am Would have been delicious if some 14 year old griefer had guessed it and Tweeted out mounds of random nonsense. I'm parking this here because only something that leads to locking Trump up reforms "anonymous" for me. Otherwise, this is just a cheap exit strategy.

Problem is, Trump's whole presidency is a fucking crater-filled field littered with bombshells, some that have gone off and some that haven't. Whatever it is, it won't move the needle.

*or she* but I'm going to be really disappointed if Anonymous is Kellyanne. That said, unless it's a bombshell that really impacts the election a al the Comey letter, the timing makes it seem like the person what's to redeem their chance of being looked upon favorably if Trump loses.El Guapo wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2020 2:30 pm Look, I'll say that this is the very last chance for Anonymous to actually do some good. That was ... pretty anti-climatic. In the pro column, he was organizing Republicans against Trump. In the negative column, the need for secrecy was non-existent throughout the summer and breaking cover does little but give Trump some air cover with his base that the deep state is out to get him. I'm scratching my head on this one.

Re: The Trump Investigation(s) Thread
Miles Taylor was the former Trump official that came out publicly earlier this year, right? He just hadn't identified himself as Anonymous yet?
I give him a lot of credit for coming out earlier this year. I don't give him any (possibly negative credit) for the anonymous crap. I also assume that revealing that now is mostly out of self-interest (better that he reveal it now than people figure it out later).

He has already been a pretty vocal anti-Trumpist for months. Considering the speculation at the time that it was someone really high up, possibly Pence's Chief of Staff or even Pence himself (loadstar!), this is a pretty big letdown.

Re: The Trump Investigation(s) Thread
His reason for not writing the book under his name was semi-sensible. Trump plays defense way better when he has a person to belittle and attack, it’s much harder to do that without a target.

Re: The Trump Investigation(s) Thread
Given Biden's speech last night, I don't think a pardon is off the table. There is both good and bad to that.
The biggest keys for me are that forgiveness requires an admission of guilt and repentance. On behalf of the enablers as well.
I don't think the Trumps or anyone in his administration are capable of this, and without it, Biden world be making a HUGE mistake and enabling Trump 2.0 in the Georgia runoff, McConnell until there is dirt on his grave, 2022 and 2024.

Perhaps trump's shrewdest move would be to resign, confess guilt, and get a pardon from Pence. Fortunately his ego precludes this.

Re: The Trump Investigation(s) Thread
What federal charges could realistically come up against Trump based on the past four years?
We all know he's an asshole with cruel, terrible, stupid policies, but cruel and terrible and stupid policies aren't really felonies. We all know he lies as regularly as breathing, but he has been careful to keep himself from going under oath.
His whole administration was an abuse of power designed to enrich himself and hurt his enemies and provide cover for it all, but I imagine that putting together that criminal case would be a much more complex task than the straight-up tax crimes, fraud, and money laundering that are already waiting for him in NY.

Re: The Trump Investigation(s) Thread
Might want to get ready to add more:
A federal judge on Thursday ordered the Small Business Administration to release details on coronavirus pandemic-related loans that would disclose information on businesses that benefited from $717 billion in federally backed borrowings.
The judge ordered the agency to disclose all the names, addresses and precise loan amounts issued through the Paycheck Protection Program and Emergency Injury Disaster Loan program. The decision comes after a lawsuit was filed by a dozen news organizations, charging that the agency was not fulfilling its obligations under the Freedom of Information Act.
The SBA had previously released only summarized and anonymized data for PPP loans under $150,000 — which account for about 4.5 million of the 5.2 million in total loans made — claiming they would violate borrowers’ privacy by revealing the size of their payroll.
