I personally think it's because he's so much smarter than anyone (Some might say the smartest person in human history) that we can't possibly understand the brilliance of what he is saying. Years from now there will be scholars pouring through his every word to try and recapture the magic from the past.

Or he could be insane. One of the two.
Capitalism tries for a delicate balance: It attempts to work things out so that everyone gets just enough stuff to keep them from getting violent and trying to take other people’s stuff.

Wow, this is exactly how my Dad operates when we tangle on politics (seldom these days, thankfully, since it always gets overheated).

He brings the heat, I return fire with some data, he poo poo's the data somehow and basically says "whatever!". As if it's an insult to try to bring in some truth or logic or data into the argument.

You can't really argue with "I know what I know, harumph!"

Today's Twitter diarrhea:
Our relationship with Russia is at an all-time & very dangerous low. You can thank Congress, the same people that can't even give us HCare!
The President of the United States is siding politically and publicly with the Kremlin over Congress. Yeah, that's totally normal.

Technically, it's only one of a number of factors that they consider. But when looking over their point system, if you don't have an English speaking skills, the only likely way you're going to get in is if you have an advanced degree and a very good job offer in the US.

The question is how long are the Republicans going to stand idly by and let our country's standing be destroyed in some vain hope that they can score a point or two over the Democrats.

Why HCare instead of DonTCare?
Why support the Kremlin over the US?

I don't accept that distinction but if you do then he's saying the worst relationship in the last twenty some years. Well, fucking good then. Bully for Congress! Thank you Congress and thank you for not giving us HCare according to Trump. He's doing something I thought impossible. He's making me thankful in at least some ways for the 115th Congress. That's fricken impressive.

I keep telling myself that surely he can't be as stupid as he sounds when he talks, twitters, etc. I wonder if it's some form of intellectual "rope a dope" and he's doing it intentionally so everyone will underestimate him. If it's NOT that, the implications are too distressing to dwell on. Maybe I'm still in shock after the election. Everything is fine.

The best part is how Turnbull had already told Trump repeatedly why they "discriminate against boats" in their immigration policy. And then Trump then says "oh, I get it, they're from certain regions". Which is the opposite of what Turnbull was (repeatedly) saying!

Apparently "milk" is also alt-right slang for whites. (Richard Spencer had a glass-of-milk emoji in his Twitter handle the last time I saw him quoted, but now it's gone.)

With Trump I can believe he just couldn't recall the term "dairy." If it were Bannon or DonJr, I'd be suspicious.

He is a complete loon and these guys have to tolerate him but are not going to actually work with him beyond the bare minimum. It is ridiculous that this is our face to the world.

Oh I agree... But at least in the transcripts he seems to be self-aware as opposed to the random ignorant nonsense he seems to blurt out in public. That doesn't mean I think he's competent.

When conflicts of interest go wrong:
The Secret Service has vacated its command post inside Trump Tower in Manhattan following a dispute between the government and President Trump’s company over the terms of a lease for the space, according to two people familiar with the discussions.

Previously, the Secret Service had stationed its command post — which houses supervisors and backup agents on standby in case of an emergency — in a Trump Tower unit one floor below the president’s apartment.

But in early July, the post was relocated to a trailer on the sidewalk, more than 50 floors below, a distance that some security experts worry could hamper the agency that protects the president’s home and family.

The command post appears unlikely to move anytime soon back inside Trump Tower, where the president and his family have rarely gone since moving to the White House.

On Thursday, a spokeswoman for the Trump Organization said the government should seek space in another location.

“After much consideration, it was mutually determined that it would be more cost effective and logistically practical for the Secret Service to lease space elsewhere,” spokeswoman Amanda Miller wrote in an email to The Washington Post.
Luckily, the Prez spends most of his time at his golf courses, or that dump in DC.

I'd have no problem with that reality either... but I doubt he had access to that early call's transcript in passing and I doubt he was savvy enough to sniff for dirt.

However, to your point - the crazy bad stuff the Mooch said about Trump before the election; how on earth did Trump green light him?
